A montage celebrating the career of All Blacks backrower Jerry Collins, whose life, along with his wife Alana, tragically ended early as a result of a car crash in France. Collins body was found shielding his daughter Ayla, something that allowed Ayla to survive the crash, an indicator of what a great man he was, and his legacy will never be forgotten.

    Beautiful tribute. A man who was a hero throughout his life and never more so than at the last moment. He threw himself into the backseat to protect his child and she survived the crash. RIP

    As a former rugby player myself I can't but stand up and salute the great Jerry Collins. What a player. Maybe some of his tackling would be carded these days but hey, it's a tough game played by one of the toughest ever players to grace our great game. He is a great loss to our game and as a true gentleman a great loss to the world. R.I.P. my friend

    JC running full tilt at you has to be one of the scariest things a man could have experienced.
    Running full tilt at JC would have been equally as scary!
    A lot of these tackles would be deemed illegal in this day and age and rightfully so but what a player, man and absolutely beast!

    What an amazing man and rugby player , but was there not a better and more sensitive tribute at his funeral than the angry haka , I would have thought something with some beautiful Māori poem or accent to a gentle wonderful afterlife would be more appropriate

    • @cm1412
      @cm1412 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The haka was not performed in anger. It is the ultimate mark of a respect. And, a significant part of his life...even to the point of footage of JC, just a couple of hours before his death, was of him performing a haka.While the Māori language is beautiful, as within a poem, it would've been of no revelance to the farwelling of JC....he was not Māori and not much of a poet (unless you count ribald Irish limericks as poetry lol)
