- Although Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel track is full of epicness and fits the movie well, how amazingly John Williams's old school Superman theme adds levity to the movie. It is a pity the movie falls short in term of quality and Superman portrayal.
*Keep the kid inside you alive because growing up sucks :P*

Christopher Reeve was and still is the best Man of Steel ever! Greatest score of all time! RIP!
Christopher was a genuine, naturally handsome guy. There was no pomp or arrogance about him, meaning he was also a genuinely nice guy. Then you add that to how well he portrayed Superman... amazing.

It’s a tribute to the Superman the man of steel with John Williams music, yet no Christopher Reeve to be seen. I can understand if they use Hans Zimmer in this video then it would make sense to have Henry Cavill.

As much as I loved Cavill's portrayal of Superman ... something was missing from "The Man of Steel" that the older movie had in surplus. I never hammered my fist against my Chair's handrest in joy and pleasure watching Man of Steel... it didn't make me Joyful, truly hopeful. It talked about hope but it didn't portray hopefulness. It was all so morbid and violent, incredibly, depressing. Man of Steel never caught the real feeling I've always had towards Superman. He really a symbol of hope and optimism that this era and generation no longer allows. Just watch 'the saves' in the middle of the movie. Superman isn't a god, he is a friend.

I can tell you put a lot of work into this and it really pays off. The music syncs up so well with the action it's hard to believe this wasn't the original score. Very well done! And, yes, it completely changes the tone of the movie, in a good way.

Some (maybe a lot) of the criticism against Henry Cavill was unfair. They suited him in leather, they dimmed his yellow and red crest, they air brushed his muscles to a near plastic look, they blue-lensed the movie, they took away his naivety and humility, they added a weak script, and they made him invulnerable to his earthly environment.
That's a radical departure from all the things we loved about Christopher Reeve in SUPERMAN (1978).

Not all Zimmer osts. He's got some fuck impressive ones. I'd say Crimson Tide is as good as this if not a lil bit better. This is more popular cos it's a Superman movie. Williams has other better soundtracks than this. Even though, yes, this is quite EPIC.
