would be usefull and it will just be like terraria, a tool used for early game that later gets outshined by easier to get materials you can mine
and also so people would get used to the new material generation so instead of getting an ore you can mine but is mostly useless like lapis before you hit diamonds, you can use that one for a small step up to the newer tools with a small boost
i do wonder how they would integrate the oxidizing of the ore then becouse leaving them out to oxidize and then mine to make better armour sounds something you need to find out to do like placing bookcases near an enchantment table, i can see a diffecoult way of making like a timer on tools so after being made it starts to tick down from shining copper to oxidised copper, lets say from like 100, every 20 or so points going down, it gets more oxidiced, and you can stop it if you put the item in the grind stone or something to lower the oxidetion and if you add that honey thing, then the timer freezes until like 100 durrability gets lost

i can imagine copper gear being pretty decent to start with (somewhere between the stone-iron range), but can become weaker overtime due to oxidization (lower durability, weaker attack, etc.). And like normal copper blocks, you can use honeycomb wax to keep it from rusting. It'd make sense, considering the abundance of copper you can find pretty early off the bat.

I feel like the oxidization would just decrease the durability while negating things like mending. However, imagine tools that have infinte uses within a finite time frame. Instead of copper tools having duribulity, they just degrade over the course of a set amount of time, making iron still superior, but if you are doing a lot of digging that would normally take a lot of durability like insta mining using a set diration life tool instead of a durability based tool could be useful.

maybe waxing could slowly degrade over uses alongside durability and once completely gone the tools would begin to oxidize, slowing down efficiency and making it more blunt, maybe it could boost sword and axe damage at the cost of removing sweeping edge or, in the case of axes, making durability degrade quicker. maybe in the new catacombs or whatever theyre called there could be enchanted books like swift sneak called "thick skin" which would somewhat negate negative potion effects if put on armor (slowing poison, making harming do less damage, making slowness do less) or slow down oxidization when put on copper tools

I love how you covered the "realism" part of copper tools being added to Minecraft, as in the real world we literally went from Flint/Stone tools, to Copper, to Bronze & Brass (once we discovered how to alloy Copper with Zinc, Tin & Arsenic to make stable metals that also naturally destroy bacteria), *then* to Iron and finally Steel (mass-production on industrial level within the past 300-odd years) as we got better and better with metallurgy and understanding the sciences behind how materials interact (such as Carbon and Iron to make Steel) along with developing the tech to produce the materials in the first place through refining and such.
Yes, we have things like Damascus Steel and other Patterned Steels that are like 2000-5000 years old, but there is relatively few examples of tools and tech made from such Steels that date back that far compared to the Steel alloys (and other alloys such as those based upon Aluminium and Magnesium) we've been producing since the Industrial Revolution.

Those caves typically have a bunch of iron in it, especially on the border of deep slate. And if you find a mineshaft it’ll be littered all over the place
Same goes with lapis honestly- I find it just as often as Redstone, but that could just be me. Then again, I like to play the game rather slow at my own pace, so it could be possible the drive of progression is the main difference

The problem is that going into a big cave to find iron typially involves dealing with a bunch of mobs, so you need armor or at least a shield to stand a decent chance at surviving. But you will need to have already found at least one piece of iron to craft a shield, so it's kind of a circular dependency thing unless you get lucky with finding a deposit on the surface or in a cliffisde, or alternately digging a staircase down to the y-level 16 with stone tools while specifically avoiding caves until you've found your first bits of iron.

Back before the terrain generation update, I used to find iron with no real difficulty. With the newer terrain generation, I'll usually find hundreds if not thousands of blocks of copper [ore] before I find even one iron unless I'm strip-mining. Combining that with the fact that they removed the ability to defend yourself at all without a shield (both by removing sword blocking and by changes to mobs/combat itself, like making swords ineffective against killing creepers and giving skeletons outright aimbot.. I get they needed a buff but they went too far), and it has become tedious to so much as ACCESS one of the core parts of the game (combat/exploration/adventuring). At the very least, copper should be able to be used for shields. I can deal without the armor, even if there's a viable niche for it.

      one word: netherite
they can be bold and creative when they want to, the problem is that they had to work on all the stuff they promised with 1.16-1.17 while also adding stuff from previous biome votes alongside the mob votes (which i believe are now a thing of the past), its why 1.21 was a success compared to 1.19 and 1.20, because they had more liberty on what to work on instead of being stuck with features that werent as good past concept (looking at you archaeology), and even then 1.21 was still stuck with the armadillo, and why everything related to it was so bland and just filler to bloat the game more.
when mojang can work on something that works, oh boy its fire, but the moment they do something thats outside of the core of the game (EXP, automation, realistic animals, RPG mechanics, bosses), they tend to make things that either break the game or are so worthless that people will judge it for years to come, so it does make sense why they would do the lesser things first, after all, thats what they were doing past b1.9/release 1.0, with the occasional 'big' updates here and there sometimes (anvils, horses, wither, ocean monuments, singleplayer chances to a local server/LAN support)

Considering how copper isn't very great for gear in general, they could add bronze instead, by adding a bunch of copper + 1 iron to the crafting table. (yes, I know you use Tin to make bronze, but let's keep it simple)
It would be a slightly weaker version of iron for both tools and armor, with some minor tweaks to make them a valid iron alternative instead of a downgrade.
Like, the armor could have a point of two reduced from Armour Toughness to lose some defense, a little less durability, but it's higher density give it a little bit of knockback resistance in exchange (not as much as netherite, of course). The weapons could have slightly more damage due to the extra weight + sharper edge, but lose some speed in exchange. Tools could have tier 2 mining, with a little extra efficiency due to it's higher density/sharper edge, etc. All that for the cost of durability, of course.
This way you would still need SOME iron to progress, but this iron race would be way more bearable. With about 4 or 5 ingots you'd already have enough bronze for a full setup, but iron would still be slightly better and would have other uses, so bronze's availability wouldn't fully overshadow it. And copper would remain being a mainly decorative item.

My idea for copper tools that I've had since copper was added, was to have the tools and armor be in between stone and iron. The tools would be able to mine the same ores as stone, but with the speed of iron. And the weapons and other tools would be right in the middle between stone and iron with speed and durability. The armor would be similar, it would have slightly less durability than iron armor, but it would give only slightly more armor than leather. Some other things could also be given a second crafting recipe. Powered rails could use both copper and gold, as well as clocks, lanterns, and pressure plates.

    • @drakejoshofficialyoutubech5569
      @drakejoshofficialyoutubech5569 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I think the biggest issue for copper armor that people don't realize is just how hard it would be to add armor tiers that exist between currently existing ones due to how little room for variance the current defense point system offers.
As an example, people always point to Chain Mail as being this in between for Gold and Iron in terms of the defense points of a full set, but really the only difference between Gold and Chain Mail is that Chain Mail leggings give 4 defense points as opposed to Gold legging's 3. You read that right, excluding leggings, Gold and Chain Mail give exactly the same amount of defense points.
And it doesn't stop there. Gold and Chain Mail helmets give the same amount of defense points as Iron helmets. And Gold and Chain Mail boots have the same defense points as leather boots. This means that the only difference when upgrading between these armor tiers is the durability, which is something I had no idea about until researching it just now.
I think if they're going to add copper armor, they should add more variance in armor points or balance the durability around copper being significantly easier to find than iron.

I think a better solution would just be making leather armor cheaper, because trust me people would absolutely just skip iron tools and I really don't like the idea of that, it'd basically solve the same problem because you need very little iron to make tools and a shield compared to full armor, so instead of letting copper be the worse but more early game friendly armor you could just have it be leather, I'd actually love to see a system where instead of getting leather from mob drops you get hides and have to tan them into leather, and then you could pick between hide and leather depending on how much time you can invest, they'd just need to make hides/leather drop more common and then find a way to make books harder to get inspite of it

Yeah, that and make Leather protect a bit better (because actual leather armor's protectiveness IRL can even match that of regular Iron if it's purposed as armor).
They could make it so Leather drops could be crafted to make leather pieces which would then be able to craft armor and such, OR just change the Book's recipe by requiring more leather to compensate for it being more common.

From Frosty's comment, that give me another idea for potential Copper armor and tools.
Wearing or having copper, you're more likely to be struck by thunder during a thunderstorm. When hit, you will be given the shield effect like a charged creeper and your armor and tools will be charged too. The charge enhances the copper's effects; faster mining, stronger attack, and higher defense with a similar thorns enchantment as lightning would hurt from other mobs touching it. However, this charge would have the durability of 100, lasting for a certain amount of time before going away. No way to keep it with enchants like unbreaking or mending, and doesn't make the equipment permanately stronger or better than enchanted diamond or iron.
While people could just make many sets prepared, who's going to lug around 3 stacks of charged copper items and armor on a regular playthrough? Or when would a thunderstorm strike a Minecraft battle arena? Admins could simply disable this charged effect for games when lightning strikes are a sign of elimination.
And only reading this now, this could be an idea to combo with a channeling Trident; you strike yourself and use the charged power to win a fight.

Yeah, true. But when you think about it, what was added to Minecraft in updates wasn't vanilla styled either; aquatic exploration, a material stronger than diamond, or a mob stronger than the wither. Each idea added in an update started out as non-vanilla from the modding community until Mojang got working on it officially.
Obviously, there'd be major differences to this idea like maybe having the charged copper run on a durability timer before the charged power disappeared, but the possibilities of copper's usage is still up in the air for Mojang to decide. Who knows, maybe in 1.21.1, copper may just turn into a new, stronger power source than redstone people will use.

    • @azireinn
      @azireinn 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@GetComfyTV a lot of those are just expansions to the game using preexisting stuff. The Warden is just a BS mob with its stats cranked all the way up. The aquatic update is just new biomes, a few mobs, and a new weapon. Netherite is the least vanilla of them all mainly because it's the only armor with knockback resistance as well as needing a template, but otherwise, it's still just a set of armor. What you're suggesting is an early game set of armor with an entirely unique system that of which is built off being struck by lightning, which I still agree is a cool idea but is besides the point.

The core problem with Minecraft's progression is that everything just feels like wasting time until diamond.
you make a wood pick, then replace it with a stone pick, then replace that with an iron pick, then you get 32-some-odd diamonds and *now* you can start the game.
why would you dig a bunch of sand with 15 stone shovels when you can use 1 diamond shovel?
In a game like terraria, platinum tools and weapons have genuine uses before getting replaced, as you have to stick with them through King Slime and the Eye of Cthulhu until meteorite or hellstone, and you use those until you get better tools and armor, so on and so forth. but in Minecraft, you grab 3 stone then immediately throw away your wooden pickaxe which still has full durability. Iron breaks this by having way too many uses, but compared to gold, diamond, netherite, and many other minerals and metals, iron is the exception.
If you had to make some sort of stone melter to make stone tool heads to force you to use wooden tools, that would be interesting. a copper-based blast furnace to smelt iron, rather than a normal furnace, would do the pacing nicely. Netherite already has the smithing table, so diamonds can stay the same, or maybe change, idk.

To be honest Terraria progression does have it's issues as well.
Most players won't bother making ore armour and weapons early game unless thy focus on melee weapons (and even then they'll go for something that can be found instead of crafted). They'll just go with the starter tools up until they get the evil ore pick, then go to hellstone.
Then in hardmode, the ore progression is a speed bump, no one makes palladium or orichalcum armors for example, nor their respective weapons, unless they are playing with the Calamity mod's progression tweak. They just go straight to titanium/adamantium, or ignore it entirely and get straight to hallowed gear if they're really tryharding.

As an example of sandbox tool progression done right, I always point to Vintage Story.
I think it's due to the mentality that the game promotes, that of "building with what you can" rather than starting huge projects.
You are NOT going to have a mansion in the stone age. You will most likely have a little hut. In the copper age, sure you could try and make a massive castle, but you're better off making something smaller-scale. The bronze age opens things up a bit more, with the enhanced tools allowing for larger builds. Iron and steel then finally allow you to start getting things going on a larger scale, if you wanted to that is.
The early progression takes time and is a journey all to it's own. You don't have to "get the best tools to begin the real game" because the real game IS the journey, and what you do along the way. Steel tools are just a nice bonus.

@@simplysmiley4670 Personally I have never had any real gripes obtaining ores. Copper is easy to spot if you go into a desert and look for the pebbles. (No pesky plants to get in the way!) Worst comes to worst, you can always pan sand and gravel for copper nuggets.
From then on you will at least have metal tools like picks and saws, provided you know that underneath copper pebbles are large copper deposits.
Tin isn't too bad, and you can also find tin nuggets in cracked ore vessels. You don't need much to make bronze. After that, iron can be a pain sometimes, but if you prospect around a bit you shouldn't struggle too much. Steel is an extra step for the really committed. It's not necessary, so I'll often hold off on steelmaking for a long time.
Also I know it's kinda cliche, but it makes it feel super rewarding when you get that first metal pick, or first saw.
I get that ore finding can be an issue, and in my first world I had a really tough time getting copper, but that didn't really bother me. I played at my own pace and ended up panning for the nuggets, before eventually finding some deposits.

@@simplysmiley4670 im not sure what you mean by that; i dont think anyone sticks with like a wooden bow or the copper shortsword or something. most of the decent early game equipment is made with bars. the only ores that really get ignored are copper and tin since that's what you start with anyway. most players still grab iron for its multitude of uses for things like buckets and ironskin potions, and then grab tungsten/silver until they can find enough gold/platinum to cover everything. i guess you could just ignore ores outright if you want to rush orbs or use only chest loot from the desert/snow biome, but it's way easier to do if you actually interact with ores, which is what i feel most early game players DO do; there's no reason not to. the same can be said for palladium and orichalcum. you can't legitimately tell me people unironically brave master mode underground and get enough titanium and adamantite to make their full tool sets without also making the previous sets. you still need them anyway to get the pickaxes, and you can easily fight the mechs in palladium and orichalcum. cobalt and mythril on the other hand... but my point still stands that people DO use them, just not for as long as in something like calamity, like you mentioned.

Quick comment before watching, copper is a soft metal as well as gold, they both should not have their respective tools. Sure, they can be used for powered rails or spyglasses, but pickaxes, axes, hoes, shovels- No.
Copper and gold are too soft metals to be able to make reliable tools out of them. Also, the quick breaking with golden tools is unrealistic, as the tool itself would break quicker than the block it mines, the same goes for copper.
Edit: with the progression, yeah. They did use copper tools, but the modern copper tools are made from alloys, in the past times when they used just copper for tools, they were not very durable.
Also, diamond tools should not exist. Sure, there are diamond saws and drills in real life, but they work on rubbing the diamond against the rock, not hitting the rock with the diamond part, as diamonds are hard, but not tough, so they would instantly brittle.
Also, netherite tools should not exist, as even if netherite is tough, that means it bends, so it will bend on impact. Also, there is diamond inside the netherite tools, so when the netherite bends, the diamond brittles? So basically only wooden, stone, and iron tools should exist from the current tools? If Mojang added alloys to Minecraft THEN there could be copper/gold tools, as well as steel tools. But still no diamond tools.
If Netherite tools were to be properly added, they would need to be from JUST Netherite. (Netherite itself can be considered an alloy, as it uses unknown scraps with gold in a 50:50 ratio)

If there's one thing I wish Mojang didn't do, it's putting things in before they have established uses, be it either in building or some sort of unique mechanic, especially if it shows up in very, _very_ large quantities like tuff and copper.
Tuff was a big point of contention for me, since for a long time it would just bloat up my inventory space and just be something to throw into lava at the nearest possible opportunity.
Its base form just doesn't look good, and its cut variants took a really long time to be implemented.
They don't always do this, mind you, but when they do it frustrates me to no end.
The endless hoops to get what is tantamount to bragging rights (such as the Sniffer and that flower) are the other side of the coin.
Again, they don't always do this, but when they do the annoyance factor skyrockets.

I think the tool progression in general needs a major rework and copper tools just so happen to be the best fix for that:
    - Wood can still mine stone + coal and remains largely unchanged.
    - Stone is its own new tier that can mine copper ore but otherwise remains unchanged in terms of mining speed and durability.
    - Copper can mine iron and lapis ore, so they're essentially old days stone tools but instead they inherit the properties of iron tools to make up for that.
    - Iron can mine the same ores as before. However they should see a good boost in mining speed, durability and attack damage so the gap between iron and diamonds isn't so big.
    - Diamond and Netherite remain unchanged except for both gaining +1 in attack damage so there's still a clear progression in dps where each new tool tier gives +1 attack damage.

Maybe even they could got 1-2 points to their speed (outpacing netherrite even more).

If they want to talk about copper being unrealistic, I would like to point them to *DIAMOND TOOLS, WEAPONS AND ARMOR!*
If one were willing to overhaul the entire progression system, maybe there could be the standard tool line (stone to iron to netherite), and one where the tools are weaker but get more from enchantments (wood to copper to gold). The equivalent for armors would be leather vs chain, copper vs iron, gold vs netherite. And yes, I did take diamond entirely out of the equation, but it will still be relevant as your diamonds would be used to make diamond studded variations that can improve your tools, weapons and armor further. How? Haven't fully thought it through, maybe it would just make the enchantments better, or maybe it could do something unique for the item categories.
One problem is how jarring it would be to remove such recognizable imagery as diamond equipment.
Another issue is what would happen to all the already existing diamond utilities? Down shifted to an improved iron? Up shifted to netherite?
A third problem is hard for me to explain, but improving your gear with gem slots just feels wrong to put in the game.

Systemzee created a ton of ideas for copper when it first came out, including the ability to make green light sources (that lit up areas but still allowed hostile mobs to spawn in the light) and the ability to add copper to gold armor and tools in a smithing table to make rose gold items, which had the strength of gold items with the durability of iron, offering a cheaper alternative to diamonds during the mid-game. Overall his concepts and ideas were really well thought out and would actually change minecraft's progression and add legitimately useful things

damn, wasn't expecting to actually be convinced.
minecraft's got a lot of issues i'd work on fixing before this one; in particular, the hunger system. i've been playing a much more casual world where i just switch peaceful on/off just so i can relax a bit more, and I gotta say... the hunger system's just about one of the worst mechanics in the game right now. having to stop and take a snack break every 5 seconds, especially in the middle of a fight, is just so ungodly annoying, and not to mention how many food items are completely invalidated in their entire existence by other foods that are not only much easier to come by, but also are just better in every aspect???? like. i can't think of any reason to use a vast majority of the food items beyond steaks, porkchops, and golden apples. tell me, in what scenario are you ever going to rely on _baked potatoes_ or _melon slices?_ hell, cookies are probably one of the worst offenders. same crafting recipe as bread, but replace the middle wheat with something that's much less common, and make it exclusively worse as a food item. sure, okay. makes sense to me.

I've had a pet idea rattling around in my head for a while now. although maybe I just read it somewhere
Basically, basic "food groups" for the food items. Something like Fruits, Veggies, Meat, Carbs, Sweets. These groups are invisible, a hidden mechanic like saturation, and in fact work with saturation
Basically, each food group has it's own separate saturation
      So some examples
Basically the optimum feasible diet right now in Minecraft is an all-steak diet. 3 steaks fills your hunger bar out with an extra 12.8 units of saturation
However, under the proposed system of my pet idea, a mixed diet is far better
On an empty hunger bar, you could have a steak (meats, 12.8 sat), a golden carrot (veggies, 14.4 sat), bread (carbs, 6 sat), and finish off desert with a pumpkin pie (sweets, 4.8 sat), for a grand total of 38 saturation for your well-rounded meal
You'll not have to eat for a while after that

Potatoes are easier to farm en mass so baked potatoes are one of the easiest foods to automate. Melon slices are mostly used in potion making. Cookies are cosmetic. Overcomplicating things like this have a chance of completely being a turn off to people who don't want to worry about food too much.

May be controversal or dumb for reasons, I don't really care, but: Mojang should just add all the content that has been announced/mentioned/cancelled over the years, and parity all the items from other Minecraft projects into Minecraft, this would be insane. They already have the assets/have made it one way or another so would it be so bad? Also FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, add a combat protocol that can easily toggle between Minecraft: Java Edition's 1.7.X's and 1.9.X+ combat systems (I exclude 1.8.X because it genuinely made combat feel and look more finicky). This would not hurt anyone, if you want the old combat version, use it, if you don't, don't. It's not even bizarre it's just plain stupid Mojang won't allow us to switch this ALMOST A DECADE after many many players refuse to update server versions for base players. Along with that, please just give us mutli-threaded servers and transfer packets, it would make the multiplayer experience so much better for the player-side and the server-side. I don't know, this was a mini-rant in a way because I'm genuinely just annoyed at Mojang and that probably won't change. I haven't been the biggest fan past 1.6 and really haven't been a fan post 1.9/1.16. Awesome video though, they really should add a better use for copper, it was completely useless at launch and it basically still is. They should've just added the copper golem to give any substance to having the new ore to the game because it's crazy abundant. Copper items should've been added from the get go.

Oh yes, there's so much content announced, cancelled and in other projects...
I mean there was so many cool blocks in Dungeons and Legends. And some of Dungoen ones could be great to use for End update.
BUT here's the only small issue with that idea. It can't really be done all at once. I mean the end-related blocks without end update wouldn't make so much sense. And while with blocks it is relatively easy (just adding itself doesn't need more than taking textures and configure some basic properties) they still need ways to make them and perhaps be generated somewhere (in new structure? But designing good one isn't just one hour task). With mobs it is even harder, as not always they can just copy AI from another one. Also some mobs could just be redundant - like copper tools are, yes copper needs more uses but copper tools are not the way. There are dozens FAR better and MORE useful ideas, like for example: pipes, sorting hopper(and generally other things to help with minimalization of redstone contraptions), improving powered rails, creating green flames and with that green lanterns, or just copper lanterns, chains etc. And if we are talking about tools then a rose gold one would be a better pick, as they could at least make golden tools somewhat useful.)
And other would just not have fitting place in the current state of the game (like the enderman variants from dungeons - they belong rather in the new end, which don't exist yet - but also things like moobloom would be actually better fit to eather-like dimension than overworld).

Frankly, I think it's about time we get some significant progression changes in general, It's been 15 years and we've only gotten Netherite as a new progression tier and the Wither as the only new boss besides the Ender Dragon.
It's just too shallow. And will continue to be shallow if Mojang continues with these almost side-grade updates, I have literally never seen a Sniffer in game and Archeology is worthless.
They do occasionally branch into doing something interesting, Caves and Cliffs, Deep Dark, Nether Update but the vast majority of the time they do these super safe sanitized updates that don't significantly change the game in any way.
The ENTIRE progression needs a once over, introduce more tiers of gear, (Yes including copper gear), NERF DIAMOND or make them SIGNIFICANTLY harder to get (not grindier, HARDER, there is a difference), give biomes and dimensions more reason to explore them, ffs the only things of value offered by the end are the elytra and shulker boxes once you get those you never go back.
The enchantment system needs a complete redo, from the ground up, so many enchantments completely useless, and so many enchantments that are complete no-brainers. Nerf the shit out of villagers they completely turned the end game into farming simulator.
Minecraft in its current state feels *aimless* in all sense, why bother doing anything if the rewards are 4 gold ingots and a music disk? You practically HAVE to mod it to make it entertaining for longer than an afternoon (since that's probably as long as it will take you to beat the ender dragon).
I'm basically asking for them to take a note out of Terraria's book tbh, not one for one I'd never ask that, but it's possible to provide players with both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the game, Minecraft just leans faaar too much to one end of that scale. They can continue to add loot and dungeons and exploration, but when the best way to acquire the best gear is to strip mine and trade with villagers then there's no point to any of it.
Excuse my autism rant, just worked a bad shift and this is basically me venting lol

    • @mdbgamer556
      @mdbgamer556 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

I think one of the biggest issues with this argument is the game was meant to be a sandbox. It gave you incentives to build in alpha/beta by making the night difficult to handle without structures and torches placed all over the place, and that in turn would trigger encouragement to be creative. With a simple palette of blocks to build with and no bosses to defeat, we had nothing but ourselves and our own goals to set out to complete, and that was our progression besides getting the occasional full set of diamond and whatnot.
On the flipside, progression is absolutely a good thing to have, even in a survival sandbox game. I feel like durability is a needless hassle, personally, and is long overdue for removal or replacement. When it comes to the enchantment system, we should definitely have a less *rng* focused mechanic(blergh, rng bad), and instead have a more exploration and emphasized on building based mechanic for enchanting. For example: Imagine changing out your bookshelves for various other versions of bookshelves(different wood types, or even the new chiseled shelf with enchanted books) or other blocks(gold, lapis, skulls, candles(different colors)) you name it, as well as proper material components(mob drops) to affect what enchantments you get. More unique weapons should be added to mix up combat a little more(tridents and crossbows now exist, but is that really enough?), combat could use an overhaul(Better Combat is an excellent example of this). Bosses could use an overhaul, and more could be added as well as making the pseudoboss(poor elder guardian) a more proper boss with proper preparation being available to combat it(take a couple milk bottles, perhaps, to stave off mining fatigue and specifically mining fatigue, as these new milk bottles would target one single effect and target negative effects first). I'm pretty sure shields don't work against the guardian lasers, so going for a trident before going after the elder guardian would be a preparation component, as well as enchanting it with drops from guardians to make it more useful altogether. Villagers could require being able to freely move around on grass blocks and see the sky and be able to gossip with other villagers of differing professions, have proper limitations as to what counts as a proper bedroom, and require specific multiple block setups for their professions to function well. This combined with a randomized restocking of items each day could break down the villager trading prisons literally everyone and their mothers build these days, and encourage more proper builds that look genuinely good and slow down the "farming simulator" aspects of villager grinding.
There's many unique ways to put more focus back on what Minecraft had originally been intended for. Mojang, unfortunately, is not allowed to/won't do anything because of a frankly ridiculous fear of changing anything and thus ruining the game and plummeting the player count and sales. Thank you, Microcrap.

Copper tools SHOULDN’T be added to the game.
    Arguments are simple:
    1) we still have plenty of iron, just go in a cave. Digging straight down never was a good strategy, but you use only it in the video
    2) Realism. You speak about iron swords been very durable in reality, but your forgor - every other tool else is durable too, unless it’s some garden equipment, which are only copper tools from reality you’ve shown. So copper tools will have durability near to stone tools or in the middle between iron and stone, which is still so small to be efficient as an alternative to iron, which you need them to be
    3) Progression. New ore generation didn’t ruin it - just don’t cry about not having full iron armor set in three minutes after spawning in (sorry, I couldn’t find more polite word than “cry”, I tried). And why would you need tools like “we are iron but worse” in your progression if iron is still very easy to get?
    4) Oxidation. Copper tools would become less durable by oxidising, not more. So the mod is cool, but you wanted this to be kinda realistic…
Imagine you don’t have to get everything from iron in five minutes, 10-15 is still normal and I take no more than this every time I start a new world. We are not speedrunning
Also, copper is a building block, so you need to have lots of it and it isn’t useless at all. This has become even better after 1.21 release with new copper blocks
I should have made a reaction video instead of making such a long comment😆

another good mod that adds uses for copper and also adds realism, is the create mod, not only does it give copper tools/armor, but it ALSO adds a whole new engineering aspect that totally makes sense

ooh one idea for copper tools is that the four oxidation levels DO change in your inventory, but the lower the oxidation the higher the durability. so it would effectively mean copper tools are time-limited?

    About Pure Copper mod:
I tried to use it and dropped it almost immediately, here's why - they had it backwards. They should've make clear copper tools be more durable, and oxidized be more enchantable, because as you start the game, you'll be digging up a lot of copper, but have no means to enchant it and very limited inventory space, however to make use of more durability you'd have to literally sit on your butt waiting for the copper block to oxidize, and after that the leftover oxidized ingots will hog the space in your inventory. If you reverse the bonuses tho it will work a lot more smoothly and a lot more logical - clean freshly forged copper tools will be more durable, while aged tools will be brittle, but them sitting so long in the open would expose them to the world, building up arcane reserves (it's a common trope in fantasy that the older something is, the more magical it becomes, like think of any famous artifact - it will always be something from "long, long time ago").

Never had too many issues. Then again I'm usually the guy who goes into deep dangerous noise caves, in search of iron ore veins, only to come up days later decked out in diamond armor
