My mom taught me more than one way to cook roast- similar to your recipe Second way In greased crockpot- place seared and seasoned roast Add 1 large sliced onion over top and sides Add 1 can of cream of potato and cream of celery soup Add 1 packet Au jus and 1 packet brown gravy I can drained mushrooms stems and pieces Add about 1 tbsp distilled vinegar For more depth- add 1/4 c red wine Cook on low for 6-8 hours Roast will be super tender Serve over homemade mashed potatoes and sweet green peas and dinner rolls

Sammi my prayers were answered I had a tumble while doing my morning walk & was so afraid I messed up my knee on my knee replacement side or did something to my hip. Thank goodness I didn't. Have to use crutches 6-8:weeks & do minimal weight bearing on my hip . Won't need surgery it will heal on its own. Thank goodness !!

I am going to have to try a couple of those sandwiches, but I have a confession to make ... it's just you and me here, right?😉 OK, I have home canned roast beef and pork loin, so it won't take all day! I add the seasoning before canning and heat it up with the BBQ sauce for pulled pork and the au jus gravy for the French Dip. I can in small jars for one serving, so it works out great. But those ribs in the crockpot are also on my list!😋

I can’t tell you the last time I bought a chuck roast…😳. They cost so much. Now that I think about it, I made those French dip sandwiches last September for everyone after our daughters and their families joined us to go apple picking. The menu was a definite hit! It might be time to try it again soon. Beef roast is so delicious.

I am going to have to try a couple of those sandwiches, but I have a confession to make ... it's just you and me here, right?😉 OK, I have home canned roast beef and pork loin, so it won't take all day! I add the seasoning before canning and heat it up with the BBQ sauce for pulled pork and the au jus gravy for the French Dip. I can in small jars for one serving, so it works out great.
But those ribs in the crockpot are also on my list!😋
