Yeah, but Kris just wrecks everyone whatever the weapon lol. this guns still ok in Cqc, but it's not quite as effective as the other assault smgs

It's great in cqc, you just need a little skill and a quick ads which isn't hard
This weapons is both easy and hard to get at the same time. Getting kills with the Automatico is easy but getting 20 headshot a with the MP18 Optical is quite challenging
Honestly, it was easier than expected. Just flank your enemies and kill some stupid Snipers that don't pay attention. Even better if you can find a horse. Just ride behind the enemy and shoot them in their head.
Only took 4 rounds, expected that to be a lot harder.

taco illuminate it won't even let me do it I'm killing people with automatico but it won't go up on assignment

Finally someone that knows that this gun is not a SMG
it was treated as an SMG to balance it. same goes to the Fedorov Avtomat, Cei-Rigotti, and the M1907 as self-loading rifles. it's also open-bolt also to balance it for "NOT" hold additional round in the chamber. sorry for replying to you 5 years later

An interesting gun. The challenge wasn't bad, and honestly I thought it was worth it. Quite an accurate weapon, does okay in close range and pretty well at mid range. I pair it with the No 3 Revolver since short range is where the Rib is weak at. Overall this weapon is decent, once the Hellregal gets another nerf after it leaves CTE we may see more of this weapon.
PATCHED 02/2018: Max damage - 28 up to 11 meters, 17.5 at 37 meters [4-6 bullet kill], Vertical recoil - 0.5, Horizontal recoil - 0.33

This is basically an automatic version of the autoloading .25 extended with a slightly faster fire rate.
Chauchat is more like the autoloading because of they have same rof and damage
Autoloading .25 is a 3 hit kill at cqc (38 max dmg) and 5 hit kill at long range (21 min dmg) and the rate of fire is the same
This is one of the most underrated guns in the game

For me this is my favorite weapon because it's very well rounded and fairly effective gun from any ranges

this weapon wouldnt have even been very effective if it had been implemented. it was way ahead of the tactics at the time

am I the only one that finds some of the requirements to gain access to these weapons to be a little bit on the Absurd side? I mean getting a hold of the low weight version of the Chauchat (sp?) was actually relatively easy but just the fact that you basically had to grind to do it was not the best thing. but some of these requirement seems stupid. Like for instance if you're not playing as a sniper I'm going to be honest here people it is borderline impossible to get headshots.
when i first use this weapon i was like meh good but i prefer the mp18. but then i said welp lets give it one more chance. now its my favorite assault gun and i have 1600 kills with this weapon and its absolutely bias!!!!
Fun fact the gun was a really long ass rifle and it would have been really heavy in the hands of French soldiers since the bolt was a blowback system

Nice gun and I got it to 4 service stars but I had to go back to the Hellriegel. The clip is far too small and allows 2 kills per clip and before you know it you have to use your sidearm which sucks especially if you come into multiple combatants. It's fun to use here and there and if it had at least 30 somethings rounds I would use it more.

My favorite Assault automatic gun(I admit, my most used Assault guns are the Sjogren and the M97 Hunter), second only to MP18 Trench because the MP18 is a starting weapon.

Firing an intermediate cartridge makes the Ribeyrolles a primitive assault rifle, makes me think that the STG-44 was the second one.

Christian Bethel Cei Rigotti uses a rifle round, M1907 doesn't fire an intermediate cartridge, Federov uses a Japanese rifle round and the Ribeyrolles was used as a light machine gun

Easiest way to get those headshots in my opinion is to get a friend and take turns headshoting each other
For the people having trouble getting headshots, try hip firing instead of ADS

Once you unlock them, you should start doing the new level 10 guns.
I got the Lebel Model 1886, and the Chauchat (regular variable no optic, both of them) then I go try to unlock the Ribeyrolles and in 2min on Front Line I get 8 kills with the Automatico, I said too easy I go to headshots with MP18 it was a pain in the butt to do only have 5 headshots so far. But tomorrow is all day tryhard for headshots I suck at headshots for assault.
This is the gun I need for assault. I can't stand the other weapons that class have.

Guys when you kill somebody with the MP18 Optical, all you need to do is get an headshot bonus in there and it counts. You just don't need only a headshot. You can hit them in the head then finish it off in the body. As long you see it says "Headshot Bonus" then you good :)

Does the Factory variant have less recoil than the Optical variant?? Im planning on getting the DLC just to get that variant (if its useful) because the Optical recoil is horrible

I've always thought the Sturmgewehr 44 would be considered the first assault rifle in history. But seeing these guns from years before, how does one even define what an assault rifle is, as opposed to an SMG or LMG?
Ze insane Medic submachine guns use a pistol caliber, battle rifles are select fire but use a full power rifle cartridge, while an assault rifle is select fire and uses an intermediate caliber rifle cartridge.
And lmg's are specifically designed for auto fire
Ze insane Medic true, for the most part, however nowadays there are LMGS that even have semi and burst fire capabilities. LMGS are classified as having a sustained fire capability, so they have a larger magazine than their rifle counterparts, a bipod and a heavier barrel to help resist overheating and damage from sustained fire. Some lmgs use magazines, some are belt fed, the MG-34 could use both, and some like the FN Minimi aka M249 SAW can also use STANAG magazines in a pinch.
Well that's the question.
You use words like "full power rifle catridge", "intermediate caliber", "larger magazine" and stuff like that. What is defined as "intermediate" and "large". These are just words; for instance: Is 40 rounds considered a large magazine? I think there's not really a clear line to draw.
Ok I will explain as best I can the basics of bullets. Pointed bullets appeared in the earylish 1800s, before that, the guns were inaccurate one shot muskets firing large balls. The pointed bullets obviously had higher velocities, this combined with the fact the weapons they were fired from (early one shot rifles) had rifled barrels (grooves in the barrel to make the bullet spin), meant they were more accurate.
"Full power rifle cartridge" are rounds that are around 7mm caliber and above, before the early 1880s, the rifles were one shot rifles, that fired rounds of about 11mm caliber, complete overkill. After the French got their Lebel 1886, (8*50mm) other nations rushed to catch up, the Germans with their Gewher 1888 (7.92*57) and the British with their Lee Metford (7.7*56). By the time WW1 rolled around, every nation was using these type of rifles that carried more than 1 round in their magazine, ranging from a 3 round clip fed magazine (French Berthier) to the British 10 round integral magazine (SMLE). Each nation used their respective rifle round in their rifles and machine guns.
The term LMG in WW1 referred to the machine guns that were portable, and fired full power rifle rounds, this was the same in WW2. After WW2, in the 1960s, a new cartridge appeared, the 5.56*45 and its other cousins, most assault rifles and lmgs use these rounds today, they arent as powerful as full power, but are lighter and can be carried in larger numbers, they are "intermediate" The term "GPMG" refers to machine guns that can both be mounted well and carried, we use these today, the earliest versions are probably the MG34 and MG42, these shoot full power bullets too. The term HMG has changed too, it used to mean literal heavy machine guns, then after the invention of anti vehicle rounds like the 12.7*99mm Browning, it changed to that.
Shorter rifle rounds like the 7.92*33mm used in the STG44, or the Russian 7.62*39mm are also intermediate.
In short here are some modern Examples:
(extremely common Intermediate): 5.56*45mm NATO (Used in NATO assault rifles and lmgs)
(not so common intermediate) 5.45*39mm (Used in Russian AK-12 assault rifle)
(rare intermediate) 5.56*30mm (Used in Indian INSAS assault rifle)
(common full power) 7.62*51mm NATO (Used in NATO sniper rifles, GPMGS, and marksman rifles.
(another common full power) 7.62*54mmR (Russian full power in service since 1891)

ArsenalsJack1992 Ikr? I got fooled when I didn't have the dlc and spent hours on end, trying to unlock the weapons, only to realize that I couldn't unless I had gotten the dlc. I suggest you get the dlc though. The game is hella enjoyable with the new maps n guns. Already unlocked the Ribbyrolles, RSC Optical and Factory, Chauchat Low Weight and the Lebel 1887 (I think that's the year) Infantry. All the guns are pretty good.

why not? it's a rifle shooting an intermediate cartridge with semi and full automatic modes
It has the issue of limited ammo, and the lmg's need a buff. Make the guns have more damage, but a first shot nerf and the issue of slow speed...also keep the sound of sonic cracks from the bolt rifles (sort of a way to tell the "o sh!t" sound) at all ranges...also make the recoil worse aiming or not prone with bipod.
