I've used my Milex XXXL now for about 3 years and I think it's great. My brother got one for himself and I'm giving my mom one for her birthday this year. A few things I learned now after using it nearly every day... The basket will not remain non-stick and the coating will come off, I also cannot get the baked on grease off anymore, so I just leave it like the coating on a cast iron pan. I clean it, I just don't want to scour that off till all the copper coating is gone to get rid of some baked on oil . I don't bother cleaning the element part of the fryer either, as that gets HOT and if that heat isn't enough to kill germs, then it can come get me.
I bought a flat removable pan from Homemark that we use for flat things as it's easier to get out of the tray once it's lifted out of the basket. It's a great addition. I also got some silicone bakeware that fits in my tray and I would cook stuff like wors and bacon in there to get the juices so my fryer stays clean, though some people moan about it weakening the effect of the air circulation. It still works so I'll keep doing it.
Never ever use something like spray and cook in your air fryer, as it damages the copper coatings. Just put your chips/veggies in a bowl, then put the oil onto that and shake it up with the spices/salts etc you would prefer, then put it in the airfryer. Somethings do stick, but it's not a big problem really.
If you are too scared that you will burn your food, put it on 180 and check it for every 5 mins and shake it up or turn it around till it's done to your liking. You will get to know how it works best with practice.
It works great for baking veggies, but remember not to crowd the basket as you want the air and heat to reach all the parts. Cut the juicier veggies, like zucchinis, into thinner strips to become crisp, otherwise you won't really get crispy chips. I've made chips of sweet potatoes and carrots too. It's so much nicer to eat veggies that were baked than boiled to a mush. We've done Brussels sprouts, brocolli and regular potatoes too.
It works wonderfully for foods coated in crumbs like fish fingers, chicken nuggets, etc - check the packages as they show how to cook them in airfryers these days.
You haven't lived till you've tried doing crispy pork belly in the airfryer... OMG... nyammm... Search for some utube vids on how to bake a crispy pork belly and follow the instructions. It cooks lamb chops so well, that little fat layer is so crisp and tasty...
Wors tends to smoke and splatter a lot and it is a bit drier when it's cooked, or maybe I'm cooking it too high, but it works too, I just prefer the oven or a braai...
What doesn't work is light things that could get lifted off by the wind.. it can lift up and touch the element so watch out. Use a wire mesh or something heavy to pin down your toasted cheese sammies, or use toothpics...
Also, don't try to cook eggs in the airfryer. You will end up with a rubber ball - dried up and only fit for the garbage can.

Mine stopped working. Was out of warranty and was told it would cost too much to fix. I was going to throw it out but then decided to watch some TH-cam videos about common problems with AFs and had a go at fixing it. Most common thing that stops them is a blown thermal fuse. The manufacturers make sure they put the fuse as deep into the machine as possible and I had to basically strip the entire thing to pieces, taking photos along the way for when I had to reassemble it. As it turned out, it was a blown thermal fuse. I upgraded to a slightly higher tolerance fuse and the job cost me R30. This included 2 little crimping lugs. Very proud of myself. Just to be safe and extend its life, I never cook at the max heat (200°C). Highest I go is 190°, but that is rarely.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain this on my post... I hope when people make their decision on which airfryer to buy they see this comment and are better informed... I will refrain from going up to 200 degrees 😅

Can use your Milex air fryer in a kitchen where you have a gas cylinder. Too much protocol on the manual I think

How do you pause and play to shake?
Whenever we open it, shake and put it back, we need to start the timer manually from scratch

With this model there should be an auto detector somewhere... it should resume once fully in

      Hi Ano
Thanks for the comment... do you perhaps try and clean it with water in the airfryer itself?... I know in the manual they said never put water in the airfryer
