      Nessun Dorma translates as:
      Nobody shall sleep!...
      Nobody shall sleep!
      Even you, oh Princess,
      in your cold room,
      watch the stars,
      that tremble with love and with hope.
      But my secret is hidden within me,
      my name no one shall know...
      No!...No!...
      On your mouth, I will tell it when the light shines.
      And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
      (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
      Vanish, o night
      Set, stars!, Set, stars!
      At dawn i will win! I will win! I will win!

    Translation from Italian:
    What a beautiful thing is a sunny day!
    The air is serene after a storm,
    The air is so fresh that it already feels like a celebration.
    What a beautiful thing is a sunny day!
    Chorus:
    But another sun, even more beauteous, oh my sweetheart,
    My own sun, shines from your face!
    This sun, my own sun,
    Shines from your face; It shines from your face!
    Your window panes shine;
    A laundress is singing and boasting about it;
    And while she’s wringing the clothes, hanging them up to dry, and singing,
    Your window panes shine.
    When night comes and the sun has gone down,
    I almost start feeling melancholy;
    I’d stay below your window
    When night comes and the sun has gone down.

    WHAT?!? YOU'RE ON TO OPERA NOW?!? This is a recent obsession of mine now... Pavarotti (the big fella) - may he rest in peace - is considered to be one of history's best male singers. period. full stop. I really like him on the aria (song) "Brindisi" from La Traviata and "Vesti la Giuba" from "Pagliacci".
    Andrea Bocelli is another very famous and talented male opera singer... But the women of Opera maaaan.... Their voices are so pure and angelic it's just beauty in the most basic form...Maria Callas is ICONIC. The thing with Opera though is that they are *plays* so there are hundreds of versions of the same songs by hundreds of people. Try "Habenera" "La Mamma Morta" "Un Bel di Vedremo" "The Queen of the Night" aria "O Mio Babino Caro" or "The Flower Duet"

    'Squilo' is a Italian description of a voice projected the top notes (B, C, D) over a full orchestra and chorus to the back to top of an opera house. Pavarotti lyrica (sweet), Carreras are lyrical tenor, and Domingo is Spinto (pushed) tenor. Other tenors of the Golden Age of Opera: Franco Corelli, De Stephano, Tucker, McCormack, Kraus, Juame Aragull, Jon Vickers, Raimondi, Bergonzi, Gedda...Pavarotti liked Bjoerling and Aragull. Carreras & Domingo admired Aragull, too. Enjoy and what a pleasure to see your enthusiasm.

The Three Tenors in the order they perform are Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, and José Carreras. Opera something they came to me later in life don't get me wrong I like it when I was a teenager and when I was in high school cuz we got to go see plays and stuff and I got to hear Opera but Pavarotti's the greatest opera singer to ever live above how he just puts his heart and soul in everything that he does! Long live the king of Opera rest in peace sir!

    You clearly have so much singing talent of your own! I love your reactions, but I encourage you to give yourself the gift of an audience for your own beautiful singing. You DO know! Just because you can't speak Italian, French, or German...yet, doesn't mean you can't. You already mimic perfectly. That's all it is, to a point. Go out there, Mr. also talented guy, and perform. You deserve it!

    Pavarotti just looks amused throughout. These two can't hold his coat but they try to take the best parts of the song from him so Pavarotti schools them. Such a class act. In life and on the stage. No man compared to Pavarotti.

      You say that like Carreras and Domingo had a beef with Pavarotti or something. The fact is that both Pavarotti and Domingo created the Three Tenors to prop up Carreras' career after his recovery from leukemia.

    Donizetti's "Fille du Regiment." is where Pavarotti gained his reputation for being 'King Of The High Cs', which he risked at the age of sixty, having performed the required nine, back in 1973, in his character Tonio's aria 'Ah! Mes Amis' in full voice, he decided to rise to the challenge again. Quoting below from The New York Times in 1996:
    But Tonio is a "role for a young man" with the "best of his body power" and a "wild animal voice," Mr. Pavarotti said the other day after a rehearsal at the Met. So why is he doing it?
    "I choose to sing this role again for my birthday because I think I am crazy," he said. "I am a challenger. This is one of the reasons so many people come to see my performances: they know I am on a high wire and I can always fall off."

    Three of the best tenors of our age... all great, but my favorite has always been the bearded one, Luciano Pavarotti! Great stuff! On a different note, Freddie Mercury did a song called Barcelona with an opera soprano named Montserrat Caballe... awesome stuff... you should check it out.

    Pavarotti is the man here and on whichever stage he graced. These other tenors wish they had his talent and that's no disrespect. You see them join forces but you also see Pavarotti laugh/grimace at them butchering the piece. The man was and is the best there ever was.
