- I'm back in the Galapagos Islands for a second episode. On this one, I'm doing wildlife photography with giant Tortoises and Hermit Crabs.

The Galapagos Islands are an incredible place for wildlife photography. Most of the wildlife is pretty accessible and the encounters are close and incredible. On this vlog I visited a couple different islands and had some wildlife photography encounters with large animals like Giant Tortoises and tiny animals like hermit crabs.
"Just laying there in the sand after a long day of fornication..." is not a line I expected to hear on a TH-cam video today. 😅
hahahahah. I try to slip these lines in there sometimes to see if anyone will notice haha
@@BrendanvanSon I listen carefully :) I appreciate good scripting. ...and if there wss ever proof that that was not Chat GPT scripting, that line is.
@@BrendanvanSon we notice🤣
"I'm not cool, I'm just an ordinary dude".... said every cool dude ever.
Don’t worry about sharing everything you have a life to and should enjoy some time with a camera. Thank you for all those amazing videos, we enjoy them a lot.
I'm glad that the Galapagos trip went very well. I agree that there are times when it is perfectly OK to not worry about photographing or filming anything to just enjoy the experience.
Thanks buddy!
You being a normal person is what makes your videos so enjoyable. Sometimes you need to put the camera down and just enjoy the experience. Brilliant photos and I prefer the colour one of the tortoise.
Thanks for the kind comment.
Again you brought back many memories, thank you. I also found one had to be very adaptable, a lot of things were out of one's control. You on a very strict itinerary, on and off boats, times on the islands very regimented and you are in the animal's environment, you have to be very inventive sometimes because the animals won't stop and pose for you. I also had the experience of fornication, taking photos while on the boat in quite rough conditions, one moment the turtles were on one side of boat, had to run to the other side to catch the female ending the encounter, have some great photos, not all if any in focus but a experience I will always remember.
I am so enjoying this new format of your videos. I was getting very bored of the tedious"what filters, what ISO, what lens, etc."but now I see a photo with all that info and now I can enjoy the "experience" of the journey. You have renewed my interest in your channel. Keep it up Bro.
I'm glad that you're feeling re-invigorated by it. I feel more inspired to film, that's for sure. I'm wishing I never changed formats haha
Even though you give an incredible experience to your participants, you also give your viewers a great experience as well. Keep doing it any way you want. You don't work for me, you take me along.
Thank you so much Sharon!
Great episodes Brendan, lovely to see you get your mojo back 😀 Enjoying the new/old style of content. Oh, and the black and white photo is so ethereal, definitely shows a different side to the tortoise.
Thank you Colin! Glad you're liking the videos.
Great video as usual, the Galapagos Islands are in my bucket list
The color one looks better imo! Fantastic photos once again, it seems so magical over there!
Thanks so much. I'm #teamcolour too.
I'm thinking the only time you would sit still for any length of time is being stuck on an airplane. Galapagos is definitely a bucket list destination. Carry on. 👍🥂
Hahaha, this is what I love about flights. It gives me permission to just sit down and do nothing for 8-14 hours haha.
A wonderful video 🎉 👍 The wildlife there is really amazing and you have captured it all so great!
My boy is officially back! Retro BVS videos. And ummmmm those are some nice Nike ACG Mowabb OG Twine 2021 kicks there son. Looks familiar….hahahahaha
Dude! You inspired me.
I found them at the Nike Outlet store in Portugal and grabbed them. Was there yesterday and they have 2 more pairs in my size still, almost took them both just to have. So comfortable.
Good overview even without underwater stuff. No apologies needed. Man, that coffee looked as thick as syrup!!
Glad you liked it!
I cried throughout the whole video. Such an incredible trip. Thank you for making it happen! (I like the black and white.)
Of course dude, it was such an awesome trip. The sea lions will miss you for sure.
What an amazing place, I hope I get to visit one day.
I hope so too!
Love the style of your videos.
Thank you Sharon!
Brendan, I don't agree with your self appraisal at all, I think you are cool and your images are also cool, those crab shots are beautiful. Regarding colour/B&W question, I always prefer colour. Good luck on your next trip.
The teeth on that turtle, holy moly! I like the color tortoise better personally. Galapagos looks amazing.
Yeah, the turtle teeth reminded me of piranhas!!
Fun fact: there are over 800 species of hermit crab. None of them are actually true crabs. Like the gigantic coconut crab and the delicious king crab, hermit crabs are not true crabs. They only have six pairs of legs and one pair of claws; true crabs have four pairs of legs with two claws. There are other differences, but that's the most obvious one.
Re the turtle image: both color and B&W work pretty well.
John, you always have the best fun facts. I need to know the important answer then, though. If they're not crabs, what are they??
@@BrendanvanSon crabs and hermit crabs are both decapods. But hermit crabs belong to the suborder Anomura, while true crabs are in the suborder Brachyura. No, I didn't know that off the top of my head; I looked it up.
12:48 color!
Woops : I got "Mailing List Not Active" ... trying to subscribe ... I like B&W, but in this case I prefer the color one :-) Kind regards, Guy
Hey Guy, it should be working. I've just had a look. Maybe the program was down?
Nope ... I just retried ... I sent you an eMail with screenshots ... Kind regards, Guy
Color tortoise
Thanks! The more I look at the two, the more I agree with colour!
Always BnW. 😬
Hahaha. There are so many BnW fans out there. I've never really been able to make BnW photos that I liked.
7:46 you are not normal and you are cool. Just not those stereotyped cool that are leaning into being idiots or jerks. If it helps knowing, I like your storytelling videos, sometimes with voice offs sometimes talking to the camera.
