@@margarethany Mushrooms are great too! I'd be willing to bet there's at least one variety of mushrooms you'd like. Have you tried fried King Oyster mushrooms?
This is such a genius method of practicing. This way you can really start to feel the accented notes in those really fast passages. I love how the beauty of the melody is kind of highlighted by just those sparse notes too. This is so awesome I’m gonna definitely have to start doing this
i remember watching this two years ago and thinking wow, that's a piece I'll never learn -- and now I've learned this piece fully, just trying to get better at playing it!!
Gurl, ima be honest: I regularly avoid your content (even though I think I’m subscribed) because I’m so jealous (Lord, forgive me). I’m 35 and such a later bloomer. I FINALLY joined my first jazz ensemble as a sub (super excited) and it’s a great feeling to be apart of a musical community even though I was in undergrad and grad school. That said, I’m gonna stop hating on you and give you your flowers now, mama! 💐💐💐. You’re a star! This is one of my favorite piece of Chopin’s and I played it years ago. Keep up the lovely and knowledgeable work in training and inspiring the masses!
jealousy is a hurtful emotion; but the one who is hurt most is the self. i'm getting back into the piano at 31, you're not alone. i believe in you, we're in this together ~!
you are amazing and your drop dead gorgeous. I used to practice like crazy then I took care of my mom with my brother for 13 years 24 hr care and she passed . I didnt even want to play again after she died but picked it up and played . I can still play but I cant do things I used to do when my hands were young. Dont waste a minute of your youth people
try practicing first thing in the morning when you're fresh after a good night's sleep. Don't think about anything when you wake up, just playing. You'll find that your hands have aged 10 years down. Adults struggle because their mind is filled with so responsibilities, and they're tired after work, so they can't concentrate on what they love. try it and get back to me. there's absolutely nothing holding you back from playing like a young star except your mind.
Nahre can I just say, that I have followed your channel for sometime now and I find your videos and shorts truly amazing. It’s mostly a while spent developing the muscle memory to play those notes though. Anyone could do it if they had the patience to start in very slow motion and speed up gradually over a couple weeks.
@@fake10hourentertainment17 it still takes people like her only a few days to get it up to speed. It's a combination of prodigy and obviously the decades of training she put in. So yes, divide tempo and take your time to work your way up. One day you can immediately start practicing from a high tempo, but it's not that day yet.
Awesome content! I'm primarily a saxophonist but really appreciate how developing keyboard skills aids ear training and visualizing music theory concepts. Well done!
I really enjoy watching the finalists of the Chopin competition, you quickly can see how the artistry of the pianist can come through in very subtle ways
My son is learning the drums. He's now in 3 bands and his timing needs LOTS of work, as you'd expect (just starting out). This method is brilliant, thanks so much!
It's so interesting you do this! I figured out that doing the same thing with drums (a basic rhythmic figure I can play with) helps me playing with more complex music much more than a metronome does
The problem with learning from a score is that you have to force your meaning onto the music and hope that you can hear it later and that it then becomes meaningful rather than hearing the musical meaning in the first place. This is why transcribing music is incredibly important for jazz musicians. Infact in language acquisition, listening, shadowing and transcribing by ear is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal.
The metronome is the best. But I think practicing with accenting destroys the integrity of the phrasing. You have to get the articulation correct AND avoid accenting in the wrong places. Tricky…. Great content BTW 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is amazing,! Instead of C# minor i use E major bass notes descending 'supplimentery figure'. Then bounce around in C# minor using octave displacements (Amaj 7.)
I would love to be able to rush this part.
hahhaahhah
Me too! 😀
If you can play it slowly, then you can play it quickly

I need to constantly remind myself that Nahre is a prodigy and not a normal pianist. Divide tempo by 2 or 3 before trying at home.
