i feel this was great man and how your expertise from your jazz school days, but missed the mark in expalining mixed rythms like the dotted 16ths and 8ths combos, because you didn't really explain to them, the common mixed rythms at least after the subdivisions, I think you should have at least done a couple of the most common. Thanks for th website
Ah, metronome, my life-long mortal enemy, we meet again. I've left more than one music teacher a broken shell of a human being because of my inability to play with the metronome. It comes down to the question that can never be answered: How the hell do you know when you are playing in time with it?
I been playing for 3 months and this has been the best explanation to play with a metronome, whole time i thought i had to strum on every click and was wondering why it sounded like shit
You can strum on every click to start with and increase your speed. When it's too fast then dial back 50% and add second notes and so on. It's a more accurate method and mathematically easier to follow
I've been following you for a long time. Really content to see you making videos like these, even if I miss the chaos of the old ones. Glad you made it bro.
James Bond, tied to an explosive chair set to go off with bad rhythm on rhythmrandomizer: Bond: “Do you expect me to use takadimi?” Music Prof: “No, Mr. Bond… I expect you to die.”
I play bass, which is much simpler than guitar and, for that reason, sometimes harder (simple is not the same as easy !!) and I so much wish you or someone as smart as you would set a 52 week bass course !
FWIW (=0.001), I like doing cross rhythms with the metronome, like 4 to 3. Hitting on the upbeat, noting between the beats, helps me improve precision.
are you monitoring the guitar with those headphones or just wearing them for metronome? if you are monitoring, how are you getting ultra low latency wireless for playing guitar?
Yes, incredibly useful as it is incredibly tedious to practice that shit... But I do understand how this practice will help , thanks for showing us this side of things and not just jaw dropping skill. Cheers
The thing I don't understand is why you have to play 16 notes when you play a 16th note. It doesn't make any sense and you didn't explain that fact of music. It's a dumb rule.
Don’t play guitar to get girls. My girl got me back into guitar. I picked up an acoustic guitar in 2015 at 15yrs old and I messed around with it a bit but was bored and I was intimidated by the electric guitar so I never switched in my teens, instead I ran into some trouble, in life, got a house arrest charge, met my girl in college and she got me to buy an electric guitar 16 months or so ago I’m playing gigs live now with my bestfriend since childhood (drummer) and he’s a better drummer than I am a guitarist but people like our music and I’m obsessive about my playing I play guitar 6+ hrs a day I have to get all that time I lost. And my drummer always tells me rehearse ideas with a metronome before we record on pro tools.

Thank you for embracing the absolute tedium and mind numbing frustration that comes with sharing your prodigious musical gift.
I use the metronomes swinging arm to hold my CIGARETTES.
Mark of a true jazz musician

These videos lately have been gold.
Thank you Brandon for the recent upload of tips and tutorials

This is honestly a fantastic lesson and would recommend to anybody playing guitar
I fail to see how this will help me get girls
They need consistent repetitive clitoral stimulation in order to orgasm. If you can keep a tight rhythm they’ll love you
Keep tempo at 200 bpm with your right hand and you will see

This musician is a rhythmically articulate bastard! 😎🎸
We are guitarists. We know nothing of these notes you show LOL.
Skill issue tbh
Great stuff as always! Thank you
Great videos! I’m so happy you use a tele because all my friends keep telling me to sell mine!
At first, this channel was kinda funny and annoying. Now its funny and good. Keep it up Brandon.

Just in time holy shit
Good job 👏 👍 👌 🙌 😄 😀
Hello 👋 sir
I like you're 5 minutes later 💖👑😅🎉 practice ( with the meme sounds) 😅
my main complaint about that style of metronome are that they way to loud, and that is why I use a digital one as I can adjust the volume.
My Metronome plays 3 similar tones and one tone not like the 3 similar tone then repeats. Is the odd tone considered beat one or four?
Hey yall does anyone know if he has a newsletter?
Very cool video
I figured I was pretty ok. I ascended a scale in time sixteenth notes, 45 BPM. Descending I'm absolutely dragging. Wild inconsistencies
Thank you for the help, I was a smoking little bitch before I started watching your videos 🙏
Okay, I'm picking one up.
Just get free app
I use songsterr to learn songs. And there is Metronome. For me it work better cuz I heard how metronome beats to the song I play
I have no doubt you played another instrument besides guitar no way a guitar can read rhythms that well
I'm a stupid bitch and want a video on ways to improve my slow speed chops to faster speed chops.
It made me feel like less of a sh*tty player to see him actually find somethings difficult for once.
String gauge reveal at 650K subs!
Thank you I can now play Tom petty - American girl 😅
how many times and for how long would you recommend doing this?
I wanna know how to speed up please teach me
Slow becomes smooth, smooth becomes fast
Ahhhh found the "I'm a stupid bitch" comment.
I wondered why my footrest was ticking! 🤷🏻♂️
Brandon. Can you please make a video on where to start when writing a song??
IM COUNTING OUT LOUD FOR YOU GUYS!!!!! (it's funny cause it's true haha he was)
You sound like kevduit
Yep I hate triplets too.
i am a stupid peach
Thank you fucking Brandon i love uou more than jesús crist
The metronome matters little, when the rest of the band plays out of time anyway… 🤣

Why you hatin' bro?
Sad to see there’s no “I’m a stupid bitch” comment

Don’t think that crass language was necessary for teaching video

I heard that a metronome in the long run will damage your natural rhythm
This is such bs xD
metronome is overrated asf ngl just play what you feel man
This guys doesn't play guitar.
