This is one of the few reviews that I think nails the score on what this game is. And I'm not saying that to circlejerk. My interpretation of a 5/10 for example means that the game may still be fun to play for a select group of people but have inherent flaws. A genuine attempt may be made but core concepts may hold it back. Fallout 76 is a broken mess, worse than an early access game, selling at full price with a level of arrogance matching the worst of the industry. A game masquerading as a AAA or heavy hitter title. And so the reviewer did his due diligence in reviewing it as it wants to be. 2/10 is what score this game SHOULD be getting across the board. It's Metacritic/Opencritic score should be much lower imo to reflect that. Kudos.

I know people are going to compare this game's launch to No Man's Sky but you know what separates this game from No Man's Sky? It's a game made by a AAA company. With indie games you don't know what to expect when they're made, but Fallout 76 is just embarrassing when you consider how they completely half-assed the product even during its development. And with how they're handling the aftermath of the launch right now i doubt that no one will come back even if they "fix" Fallout 76.

I suspect that the Fallout 76 dev team had a bunch of ideas when they started the game, but hadn't developed any of them enough by the time they had to cut their losses. Whether because of bad estimates from the scheduling department, mismanagement, or just bad luck on the first drafts, what they had as release day approached just wasn't polished enough to publish. I hope some of those ideas get a second pass next time Bethesda has a gap in their release schedule...
That was from their Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4. It was creative in that time, but here it's just another asset they decided to reuse with no regard to why the thing existed in the first place. A "Hey, remember this? Well it's here now!" kind of thing.

This game is a AAAä-publishers wet dream! Zero effort product with multiplayer in it and a live-service mechanic that promotes the buying of microtransactions endlessly. And what the big publishers will love the most ... the "yucky story content" will be "patched-in" later ... FOR REAL ;)
Me and all of my friends are still having tons of fun playing it. Bullshiting around with my army pals and my other civilain friends I only have 1 friend so far who hates it and doesnt want to play with us. It does have a lot of bugs, one of my friends cant go in power armor or his game breaks. But he still plays with us every night
I set out to a 200 hour play through of this game and now that I have just now finished it, I can safely say that Fallout 76 is a pretty good game. Not great or even close to a masterpiece but it’s pretty good in this current era. There is plenty of things to do for newcomers and hardly does it feel like they are shoving things down my throat to purchase things. I have a level 246 character and I have been having a blast so far.
Thanks to Ben and many other reviewers out there I will never have to experience even 1 second of this train wreck. Cheers for taking one for the team. It has been fun watching this rushed cash-in burn though.

Fallout 76. West Virginia is in My eyes a beautiful but dangerous Place full of mystery and history. Never have we explored such a great and dangerous map, never has fallout been more beautiful. The Survival mechanics are much better than in caseout 4. As a survival game, it is very appealing and the game is really fun to play with a friend. This game should not be run through in fast pase, this is a role playing game. Dont run around like chikens whitout any purpuse or imaginations. Fallout is for those whit great or little fantasy and imagination, combined whit game lore and whit tons of side mission you have a complete game full of bugs butt the will fix that. Fallout fans will not abandon this, rather they will be a part of the game development during time to come and soon we have whole Nort America to explore together.
What Bethesda should do is have two series of single player Fallout. One that takes place west of the Mississippi like Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas. Another east of the Mississippi like Fallout 3 and 4.

I would hardly consider a 5-6 average this game is getting from the majority of reviewers as trashing the game. No drama or exaggeration for the sake of comedy. Just a straight up honest review and it ends up being more condemning than any 45 minute clickbait video. Love your work, it has that early 2000s video game journalism professionalism I've honestly come to miss. I'm not against fun and levity but often times a subtle play on words in the middle of a by-the-numbers review makes me laugh harder than 6 minutes of sound effects and quick cuts. Love this channel.
In a year that gave us Monster Hunter: World on three platforms (Action RPG with a ton of free DLC) only the most loyal of FO fan should be checking out this train-wreck. And even then I feel bad for the dedication they have.

Realistic Score in my opinion and the review didn't even address the microtransactions (5 Dollar for a Hairstyle, 15 Dollar for a PowerArmor Paintjob)

No drama or exaggeration for the sake of comedy. Just a straight up honest review and it ends up being more condemning than any 45 minute clickbait video. Love your work, it has that early 2000s video game journalism professionalism I've honestly come to miss. I'm not against fun and levity but often times a subtle play on words in the middle of a by-the-numbers review makes me laugh harder than 6 minutes of sound effects and quick cuts. Love this channel.
In a year that gave us Monster Hunter: World on three platforms (Action RPG with a ton of free DLC) only the most loyal of FO fan should be checking out this train-wreck. And even then I feel bad for the dedication they have.
Should have used those 3yrs to make Fallout 4.5.. Could have announced it as giving the b team a shot to get experience before production on fallout 5 starts..
