Well this caused something didn't it? :D For the record, I'm not done with RDR2 by a long stretch. But I'll probably be devouring Hitman 2 for another couple weeks before I dip between the both of them. RDR2 is a huge game and I'm not going sit and play it until I've finished it so to speak, same with Hitman 2 :)

You know what? I didn't think it would happen but I'm in the same boat. This totally took the thunder from Red Dead for me. I'll go back to RDR for sure, but something about having fully emergent gameplay at 144hz on my PC wins out
Been playing for a few days now, and I'm still on the Miami mission been replaying it for 2 days trying to get all the challenges. Worth full price just for this level alone.
cant wait to play it. Didn't pay up for early access, so have to wait 5 more hours.

I can now say this is the best hitman in the whole series at least for me. Can't wait for the dlc's and elusive targets. Especially killing Sean Bean.

Ive never played a hitman game before. Always worried that theyd feel too complex and stealthy. And stealth usually isnt fun
@@lowhighkangLHK It is highly based on stealth, so if you don't like stealth this game is definitely not for you, since the challenges are suit only don't get spotted and stuff similar. But most hitman fans will tell you they like the challenge or that they like messing around in the environments. Preference i guess.

@@JoshJFuEasy Allies usually have solid reviews, I doubt they're the kind of people to not play a game and then put out a review. It was probably a slip of the tongue, as the narrator isn't actually the reviewer, he's simply there to narrate. This same guy used to work for Gametrailers back in the day but he's just the voice.

I understand why they have story book cutscenes this time, but as someone who loved the cinematics of Hitman 2016, not having it really kills my enthusiasm.
They went fully independent, so more than likely they couldn't afford to do so.

The re-launched series’ story is actually much simpler and easy to understand than previous installations. And the script is quite nice and dramatic, but not overly so, so as not to take away from the detailed stories unveiling in the locations. Classic Bond style story with some sci-fi twist, suits the game perfectly.
Hm, I expected a 9 with all that praise. Just to iterative of the first for that high of a score or what? It very much looks like more, like a part 2, not necessarily an innovator. But I can't wait to play it myself. Looks great.
this game......is so much fun! There are lots to enjoy and I enjoy the scale of the maps as well as the opportunities that lie within them. I hope for a return of Blood Money's currency reward system in the future where we can spend our mission earnings to upgrade and buy stuff. I really enjoyed that part of Blood Money and it really immersed me in the role of being a Hitman.
I kinda want to try playing it on master mode exclusively.
That airfield level was in HITMAN the previous entry. That is weird that they rehashed that mission.

For me the worst thing about Hitman games today is that for every campaign mission you can see the challenges which they give you already a vision what to do when you play that mission, which person to find and disguise, which place to find, where to go and staffs like that. In older games for example like Blood Money or Contracts, Sillent Assassin etc.., they want you to find the way to finish the game, it was not easy it was very hard and when they (enemies) caught you you restart the mission.. Now you can save it and load it without problem, why to play from beggining.. And they actually made the game easy for finishing. I got now Hitman 1(2016) and 2 (2018) so the time i need to finish one mission is like 20 minutes, very easy for me. In olders ones i kinda play one mission like about 2-3 hours to actually understand what i need to do and what i don't mess with.. But im still playing this newest ones because they are Hitman games.
very unfair assessment. If you own the games you should have, by now, dug through the menus and realized you can turn off all HUD options (minimap, challenges, opportunities, instinct) you can also choose mastery mode, and eventually unlock professional if you do a good enough job and are a master assassin.
Thanks for showing only the first three missions. Those are the only ones I played until now. This game and it's missions are huge

From listening to the review it should've been a 9 or atleast 8.5. Feels like you're giving a lot of games 8.0 for the perfect score to escape controversy.
This is my game of the year....RDR2 taking a backseat until I get through HITMAN 2. Got collector's edition, gun case and all....haven't gotten collector's edition of anything since Fallout New Vegas 8 years ago. Money well spent.

I might be wrong, but weren't all those scenes in the army base from the previous installment? I distinctly remember assassinating that dude by sabotaging the escape chair as well.
If you own season one you can play it in Hitman 2 with the new features and minor improvements.

What makes the hitman series so great is the dialogue between the ai and sub plots that are going on in missions. It's vast and packed with different things happening. The maps feel so alive. It adds alot of depth.
I loved the original hitman 2 and 4, but 5 was an abomination and I hard quit before completing the first proper level.
I never gave hitman 2016 a chance because the release schedule sounded like hard work and I didn't want to encourage that either.
Sounds like they have actually released a hitman game in full now, looking forward to giving it a chance.

Wish this was episodic like the last one. Gave you a nice long time to play with the map and you never felt like you could just move on so you actually wanted to complete everything.

I know lots of people that don't move on to the next area until they've done everything there is to do in a map. The literal only difference is that now you can _choose_ to go at that pace

You can also just grab a shotgun and go nuts since in lots of spots it puts you in very hostile areas where you can smoke everyone. You are just s stone cold killer. I am having more fun than I am with red dead 2. This game is also super beautiful.

omegagilgamesh It acts more like a season 2 than a full fledged sequel. If you own the first season, you can play all of those stages in Hitman 2.

If you own the previous Hitman game then all the stages are made available to you for the sequel.
I only noticed a few clips from the hangar training mission from the 2016 Hitman, but it's in Hitman 2 so I don't think it's a big deal
I guess that's because of the Hitman Legacy Pack that brings all Hitman 2016 levels over to Hitman 2 in an updated version for free if you owned Season 1 in Hitman or bought the GOTY edition.

Not a fan of the whole "this guard with a white-circle above their head is more observant, because reasons" mechanic. The idea of having a carefully-laid plan go bust, because Sherlock Holmes just happened to round a corner, was annoying in the previous game. Some will argue it's more realistic, others may like that random element--and I see where you're coming from--but, as for me...I'll stick with Blood Money. Pass.
It is more realistic. If you work in a certain environment. You're bound to remember faces and notice unfamiliar ones.
I think red dead redemption 2 ruined all other games with its realism and depth. Now every other game just looks shit compared to it.
Hitman and red dead are 2 DIFFERENT genres and shouldn't be compared
@@robby576 not comparing them. Just graphics wise I think it looks bad. After experiencing the realism of rdr2, it'll be hard for any game to look as good.
James In a couple of years, there will be a game that looks better than Red Dead 2, for a while at least, considering how more visually realistic games age worse. Anyways, while I feel you shitting on the visuals of this game was a little uncalled for, especially keeping in mind the fact that Hitman largely focuses on gameplay over visuals, I do agree this game doesn’t look particularly great compared to other current AAA games. However, based on the tight financial situation of IO, and the fact that this game nearly didn’t even come out in the first place, the graphics are unfortunately not going to be that great.
I'm disappointed that Huber gave it such a low score. I bought the Gold Edition and I have loved every minute of playing this game. I can't wait for the 2 upcoming expansion packs

@@angelserrano9049 blood money is simply a classic. not only does it have the most simple mechanics and the best rating system, it has a captivating story and some of the most spectacular levels and a bunch of freedom to do what you wish, plus the graphics hold up to this day.
@@marcusaurelius8030 sounds great....i actually started with the very first one, Silent Assassin, and i got the second one, i think contracts, and honestly don't remember why i stopped getting them after because I really liked those so if blood money is better than those then I'm definitely getting it
