I actually like this and the recent vegetable soup she made rather than piling up cream cheese and cream of whatever, tons of cheese (though I love cheese) and all the other processed food she uses. This actually looked fresher and healthier, unlike most of what she makes.
Thanks! I love tomato soup. Particularly with English Cheese Toast. Normally, i use the similar recipe i found in "The Night Kitchen", but yours might be better... More garlic. Yum.
Enjoyed this very much. I would add the cream in the soup, and a bit of sugar if needed to cut acidity. Basil, tomato, yum. Love the big croutons! Thanks Justine! 👏🍅🥰🇺🇸
You got it all wrong with basil! While cooking, use the stems: they'll give a mild basil flavour. When your cooking is done, get the leaves and tear them with your hands, not with scissors or knife. Never cook the leaves; as you can see, they get black and leave a bitter taste. And yes, add some sugar for the acidity and don't add too much broth: tomatoes are watery enough. Soups should be thick, not as thin as water.
I have to say this is one of her best dishes since she's cooking with fresh ingredients. I also like the croutons she made. I'm sure it's tasty, though personally I like to make my soups stovetop so I can sautee the veggies and also to let it reduce and thicken. You can't do that in a slow cooker.
@@emmel4fun I'm not a soup maker at all and don't eat it in the summer. When the chunky soups are on sale when it's cold I'll buy some to have on hand for an occasional quick meal. I'm a good cook but soups aren't my specialty.
@@kims1941 I see. Yes, I've known people that don't like soups. For me it's the opposite. I love soups and make different kinds, but not in the summer.
@@emmel4fun My mom and sister made good soups. Don't know if they used an actual recipe. On the few occasions I tried to wing it, the broth was watery. I don't even try any more. It's inexpensive and less bother to buy and honestly my son prefers heartier meals.
@@secularapostate Nope. Actually it predetermined my word which was Tomatoes but apparently I only erased the S. I shall now edit thanks to your keen eye.
I believe to cook properly it has to be done stovetop. However, many people love the crockpot recipes because they don't have to put much work into it. As far as her slow cooker recipes go, this is the best. It needed to thicken but it looks decent.
That looks yummy. I like parmesan in my soup too. Grilled cheese sandwich with cream of tomato soup is probably my favorite comfort food❤😊
Justine, that really looks good. Perfect for fall and winter for us. The wife does like soups. Thanks
Throw your favorite pasta in! Sprinkle with Parmasan cheese on top!! 😄👍
Looks great! Can’t wait to make this soup. My mom used to like milk in her tomato soup too. Thanks for the memory 🥫🥣
Good Afternoon Justine!!
Absolutely yummy.
Thank you for this recipe ! ❤🥰🤗🙏
This looks so good with all the fresh vegetables. I love my immersion blender.
I made this today and followed the recipe to the letter, and Oh My Goodness, Absolutely delicious.
Great dish looks very delicious Justine I love tomato soup your simply the best. 👍👍
This does look delicious and I love the idea of making homemade croutons!! I make them when I make French Onion soup. 😋
Can’t wait to try. It looks wonderful.‼️
Great job at making a fresh, healthy soup from produce at the height of the season! Looks delish!
This looks fantastic. I'd love it with some parmesan cheese and grilled Italian sausage on the side.
That looks so good! I can't wait to try it. 😊
Bravoooooooooo❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow!...looks awesome!
I can understand how a lot of people would love this. And I really enjoy a lot of what she does. But this is just not for me.

Same!
Despite not being a soup person I would definitely eat that!😊😊
It looks delicious Justine. I would definitely suggest adding some heavy cream to thicken it up and to add some sweetness.
Looks great but I would add the basil just about 10 to 15 mins before the end of cooking for a fresher flavour. Thanks for your recipes Justine 😊x

Yes some sugar 👍I always do with tomato sauce!
That looks good
What happens when RAYGUNN is a home cook.
Lol 😂
Excellent, made totally from scratch, well done! Will try this, thank you!
Justi e love your recipes!
Looks pretty good.
Interesting would be able to use this many different ways . Thank you
Always impressive
It looks tasty. Agree about adding cream, and I add a little sugar to anything tomato-ey to cut down the acidity.
Same. 👍🇺🇸
None of the seasonings are İtalyan, cos the Spice are imported from Asia and India, cumin is imported from Türkiye.
❤
Justine this looks amazing and I bet it tastes the same! Really like the croutons as an added touch!!!
how long in the crockpot untill mixing????
I ❤ this recipe. Healthy, fresh. I can add spinach a bit of cream. ❤ It, Ty. You won't read my positive comment anyway 😂
Really!!!???
That’s a lot of soup. Freeze it!! 😃🥣
Should skim the foam off
👍👍👍
Something about her says Mormon sister wife to me
Is there a reason you didn't chop up the bell peppers?
I use milk in mine too. Yummmmmm
Looks thin, for me I would probably do a cornstarch slurry to thicken a little. It is getting to be soup weather though…🍁🍂
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti ❤
That looks delicious!
Also not sure of veggie broth. I'm a deer tic person.
Can you use some other liquid? I'm allergic to chicken.
Here’s to another Justine recipe which I plan to make soon 🎉❤🎉
Making it right now but I will skim the weird light colored bubbles off the top
Coming in...ugh
I might have added a potato to help with thickening.
Absolute one of my favorite recipes. I’d add very sharp
Parmesan sprinkled on top !! Woop woop

You can't do that with a regular plastic emulsifier because it will ruin the device because it's too hot!
I would have taken out the bay leaf before blending...
Thank you looks very good
Looks more like tomatoe broth. Soup is thicker.
Great way to use nup tomatoes Thank you🎉
Tu también tienes un brote 🍇
🚥:”Estás por el fondo hasta que no sea visible el brote “
Too much garlic, onions and peppers. Too much of everything
That's no Tomato Soup I've ever seen. More like a slightly thicker Vegetable broth is all.
Maybe when you searched for the recipe you saw, you were spelling "tomato" wrong. 😂

I get what you're saying. I think it would be better by cutting the broth by one (or two) cups, given tomatoes are watery.
@@LunnaySol Right.
I see this as more of a base than an actual soup.
Make a roux to add into it otherwise this is just broth with heavy pulp lol
So negative.
