Right? I like the ingredients, but I just don’t think this is a crock pot recipe. The consistency was off. You also have to be careful with putting pasta in a crock pot. It overcooks, expands, and absorbs all the liquid if you don’t turn off the heat quickly. I’d season, brown, and crumble the ground beef ahead of time. Same with the pasta, and I wouldn’t add it to the pot, I’d serve it at serving time to prevent overcooking. Why not pour the moisture 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 the separately cooked pasta? Which then defeats the purpose of using the crock pot altogether. 🤷🏽♀️
Yes!! The onions should be browned a little too. Leafy herbs like basil and parsley should be added in the end. Only 'harder' herbs, like thyme and rosemary could be added in the beginning. Also stir it a little before putting the heat on, so the ingredients can work together. Those compartments look good for the video, but aren't helping the flavor. She'll learn with time and practice. This was a little painful to watch. Especially since the ingredients weren't a bad idea (although I would alter the proportion) 😅
I could have sworn I saw a lot of raw pink in that beef when she first started stirring up the food... Never the less, I think the concept of what she did is a very good idea but only I just would've let it cooked a little while longer than just two hours, maybe something like 3 in a hafe hours... I mean it actually takes just 1 whole hour alone just for the crockpot to get going ... So if something takes 3 hours to cook then your supposed to set your timer for four hours when dealing with a crockpot, and the first hour of the crockpot cooking doesn't count... You never supposed to count the first hour simply because the first hour of the crockpot is when it's just starting to heat up... So many people don't realize that and make that mistake time and time again, her casserole dish l believed only cooked for one hour instead of two hours because she set the time for two hours and not three... Folks remember when you're cooking in a slow cooker the first hour do not count, always put an initial one hour on the initial time that you set on your crockpot...
The recipe looks good, but if I’m making it it’s going to be on the stovetop with the beef and veggies browned and the rest of the ingredients simmered on low for about an hour before adding the pasta…….🤔
Why wouldn't you mix before adding the paste? I mean i think thats just common sense 😂 that way you can chop up that ground beef that should have been pre cooked and drained anyway... but maybe one day you'd figure this kinda stuff out and stop missinforming your younger viewer's and makeing a generation of young people who are clueless in the kitchen 🤔 just a thought.

Interesting base recipe. I prefer to brown the ground beef ahead of time-probably after supper the night before-breaking apart as I go, then drain and store in the fridge till prepping the following day. I’d need to add more veggies in that slow cooker if it’s to be the main meal. I’m all about adding a sneaky vegetable into a dish when possible.😊
Oh, I never heard of browning ground meat a day in advance, but for some reason that sounds like a very good idea. It would also spread the workload, which my painful joints will appreciate. I like to make big batches and freeze portions. This will make it easier for me. Why do you do it? Does it also help the flavor or consistency or something?

It’s not the way to prepare this pseudo Italian Goulash. The ground beef is always cooked in a frying pan,and drained well, “before” adding it to the crock pot! 😮
I put raw roast, I put raw chicken, I will put any raw meat in the crockpot and it cooks up beautifully. As long as you have some kind of liquid, not a lot, about 1/2 cup of water or stock because It'll make its own liquid/juices/gravy.

@melissaravencraft5573 You are very welcome. And remember, it's not just chicken. You also need to precook turkey, duck and pork. The only safe tartar is certain cuts of beef and certain fish, sushi grade. But things like salmon and pepperoni can have pin worms that can make you sick beyond belief or even kill if not cooked. (The cooking heat makes them crawl out making the meat safe.) Not that you wanted to know all of that, but I learned that from Chef Michael Simon and it has stuck with me for life.

@@EllaGreenn For me, the meat cooks in the sauce for 8 hours on low - the texture is very soft and melty, not grainy or lumpy like when you pre-brown the meat😋😀 The commenter below makes a very good point- dairy should be added at the end if you are using it.
