Make sure to keep separate copies of normal (non-new game+/non-continue+) save files. Beware that you can only use Continue+ once per normal file if you save over it (hence keeping it separate is important). However there is a loophole where you Continue+ to a normal save (don't save over the file), beat time devourer, and when it prompts to save, keep that completed save separate from the regular save (or update your yellow star save) to continue the Continue+ loophole. This is good for collecting multiple rainbow shells, Vigora element, etc. It is a little confusing I know ahah.
Great video! Definitely helps clear some stuff up. I remember playing this game on PS1 and not even bothering with Continue+ because I didn't understand. Even now trying to figure out how it works in RDE is such a pain. Just seems so unnecessarily complicated.
If i have someone with a weappon on my first playthrough and beat it will that weapon get put in my inventory in New game plus or is it stuck on that person until i get them back
@@MrVile Now if only modders would give Pip his proper stats. I'd settle for him just having his "Holy Beast" Middle-of-the-Road stat growth. As-is, the poor guy has the attack stats of a mage, and the magic stats of a fighter! And on the low end of those curves as well!
So when your start your new game+ is that option only pressed one time and after your file saves under new game + the next time you load it'll be continue plus but that file that has the leveled up characters?
You always have the yellow save file to do as many new game+ as you want. I just tried it and it’s allowing me to do another. They will save separately wherever you want. You just can’t continue the yellow save file and continue plus seems to just turn save files that you had before into saves with new features of new game+ but characters on those saves stay the same as your save and are not more powerful. It’s only unlocking features.
and because you can't continue the YELLOW save files NEVER save the game on 1 save file in order to get ALL 11 endings the game has so either save the completed save file after 1 of the 11 endings trophies unlocks or do NOT save the Clear file since the Trophies will still unlock as soon as the last boss dies even if you do NOT save the game. But it still takes 3 playthroughs not only to make Harlie a PERMANENT party but also to get all 3 VIPER Manor guides though Pierre still sucks so he should always be the 3rd and LAST guide to join their.
Im still confused but hopefully I get it more clearer when I choose the new game+ after beating the game when it save into a new file after it won't be yellow anymore and will hit continue plus let say for example it'll be save file 2 instead of save file 1 because one will be yellow and 2 will be the continuation of one but not yellow anymore?
Yes but she still leaves and is only accessible a short time. I’m not sure if she rejoins when you use the chrono cross to get all the characters back can anyone answer this?
@@MrVile You only unlock her for your Endgame party by completing a NG+/Continue+ while she is still in your party. In other words, use the Time Egg while Surge is still stuck as Lynx. Basically, she's the "reward" for completing that particular ending.
Ok but how do i get Harle then? Don’t tell me i have to select new game+ instead of continue+ in order to get her on my party roster once i use the Chrono Cross? From what i know? You HAVE to beat the Time Devourer when in Lynx’s body and WITH Harle still in your party roster. I thought, you had to save that clear game (with yellow star) on a separate file, load that clear file, and then select one of your previous save files so you can continue while the game remembers having Harle in your roster, and she comes along next time i use the Chrono Trigger at Sprigg’s place. Isn’t that how it works? I can’t “continue” my older save having selected continue+ after beating the Time Devourer. So if that doesn’t work, i don’t quite see the use of continue+ to be honest

Everything gets unequipped and put in your inventory on a new game+ with the exception of the Mastermune and Einlanzer
@@andrewhuber6744 Thx
Thank you I literally started the whole game over again 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Would be great if modders could make enemies harder on NG+
agreed
What has from software done to us?

I started new game + and I don’t have any of the unlocked characters I had :-(
I have to get the chrono cross all the way at the end of the game again in New Game + to get the unlocked characters back that’s fucking stressful
Do you always get Harle in all new game+
