@@sunkillsmoon Someday when you start having relationships with women there's something you will discover: that women are people, not objects you select from a supermarket shelf. The reason this is important is because people are unique, and thus cannot be swapped out for similar items that have more preferable attributes. If you love a woman, then you love THAT particular woman, not another similar-looking woman. Regardless of how much debt she has hor how many past relationships she's had, you can't swap the love of your life out for a different person and have the same relationship going forward. There are no preferences, there are only people.

Think about what this purity crap does to women who were molested or raped as children. I was attacked at 7, and technically “lost my virginity” at that time(I share this freely so others will feel safe to). My mother was heavily into virginity and I always felt lesser than and somehow soiled-certainly not good enough. I received no therapy or help until much later on.
When I hear men go on about this, I can’t describe the rage I feel. It's funny to me that many men claim to want traditional women but also look down on gold diggers when being a gold digger is the most traditional a woman can be. • @jasongilder22
      @jasongilder22 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

Sure, here are specific details to address each point:
      ### Key Assertions and Counterpoints
      1. **Men claim to want traditional women but look down on gold diggers.**
      - **Traditional Values:** Traditional values often emphasize qualities such as loyalty, family-oriented nature, and partnership. For example, in many cultures, women were valued for their roles in maintaining the household and raising children.
      - **Criticism of Gold Digging:** The term "gold digger" generally carries a negative connotation because it implies a relationship based solely on financial gain rather than mutual affection or respect. This criticism is rooted in the modern value system that prioritizes genuine emotional connections over financial transactions.
      2. **Being a gold digger is the most traditional role for a woman.**
      - **Historical Marriage Norms:** While financial considerations were important, they were not the sole focus. For example, in medieval Europe, marriages often involved dowries and land exchanges, but they also considered family alliances and social status.
      - **Cultural Variations:** In many societies, women were valued for their roles beyond just seeking wealth. In ancient China, Confucian values emphasized women's roles in maintaining family harmony and fulfilling filial duties.
      3. **Historically, it was a woman's responsibility to find the richest, most powerful husband, and love was not involved.**
      - **Strategic Marriages:** While strategic marriages were common, love and companionship were also significant. For instance, in ancient Rome, marriages among the elite often involved political alliances, but love poetry and personal letters indicate that emotional bonds were important.
      - **Evolution of Marriage:** Over time, the concept of marriage evolved. In the 19th century, the idea of marrying for love became more widespread in Western societies. For example, the Victorian era saw a rise in literature and societal norms that emphasized romantic love.
      ### Historical Context
      - **Medieval Europe:** Marriages often included financial and social considerations, but chroniclers and poets like Geoffrey Chaucer depicted love and partnership as important aspects of marriage.
      - **Ancient Rome:** While alliances were crucial, Roman literature, such as the works of Ovid and Pliny the Younger, highlighted the importance of love and personal connection.
      - **19th Century Western Society:** The rise of romantic literature, such as the novels of Jane Austen, reflected a shift towards valuing love and personal choice in marriage.

I've always found that reasoning odd. Unless someone is very sheltered they must surely be aware that sex is supposed to feel good? And a good portion of people will have masturbated before having partner sex. When I had my first sexual relationship I knew damn well he was terrible in bed, even without prior lovers for comparison. I haven't had any other partner since him so I still have nobody else to compare him to, and I still know he sucked. Because even without anyone to compare him to I could obviously tell that it didn't feel good. Of course some people really are so sheltered that they may have sex and think "huh, I guess this is it" but surely most people with some exposure to the real world are aware that it's supposed to be quite enjoyable?

If a woman has a mortgage, she probably has a job because a bank wouldn’t have given her a mortgage if she didn’t have a job. (Technically you give the bank the mortgage btw, but we speak colloquially improperly on this topic)
If a woman has a job, she doesn’t have time to stay and home at take full devoted care of the children properly.
So what man would ideally want to take on that situation, unless they had no other choice? Which is why most men who settle for this type of thing are wagees, who are beholden to their boss and the financial system.
Wealthy men with high paying jobs want to make sure that their wife is home all day with the kids to give their kids the most attention possible. Also, they want to come home from work and have their wife be there.
One of the first things I screen for in a woman is that she doesn’t have a job, or that she is willing to quit her job. If she refuses, I think she is prioritizing her career over me and potential children, and I drop her immediately.

I prefer debt-free women who have no tattoos. I also prefer beautiful women who have no STD's and are still fertile. I also prefer women with less sexual partners.
    Everything else being the same, I would choose X over Y == I prefer X over Y == I prefer X
With this definition this meme is partially right, I'd say 2/3 right. Men might prefer a woman with some skills over a first timer, but having a lot of sexual partners is looked down upon. For biological reasons, I'd argue (if challenged). But the point isn't what should be prefered but only for what is prefered.
I think Matt would have done a lot better, if he had said something like 'yeah, but those aren't the most important things, and men will make compromises. It also doesn't mean that tattoos are bad or dirty or a sign of someone being a md mother for example. But someone might think that. Just as someone might find them ugly or they might think women with tattoos have a more wild sexual history.
Again, perhaps you don't care, but I'd argue majority does.
Now, I understand if you prefer someone with tattoos. That's completely subjective. But the other opinions, I'd claim, are already a majority view.
Of course an engineer with a student loan of $100,000 and a salary of $90,000 is prefered over a handy-man with credit card loans of $50,000 and a salary of $30,000. And a handy-man with no loans and with same $30,000 yearly income is prefered over someone with the debt. Debt in itself is considered is bad thing.
And how many would say to their spouse:
'I don't think you are pretty and that's why I like you!'
I'd claim most people find their spouse attractive - or atleast wish they did. And hence would prefer a beautiful partner.
I think this boils down to how Matt saw this as a christian meme and then picked a less favourable definition of the word _prefer_ than what was implied.
I consider calling in a show about this video. I am an atheist and didn't expect to disagree with something Matt said this much.

If you had a choice (not that reality works this way) between two identical people except that one had debt and the other doesn't, everyone would pick the person with no debt. In reality the question of debt can't be determined without knowing why and how much. A women who is in debt because she's bought a house and has a mortgage is (for lack of a better term) "more desirable" than a women who has squandered her money and racked up the same amount of debt on latte's and shoes.
Some men prefer virgins while others prefer women who have experience and know what they're doing and what they like so that compatibility can be established before commitments are made.
And the tattoo thing is just stupid. Some men like tattoos, some don't. Some men like piercings, some don't. Some men prefer long hair some don't.

Who knows if what they're going to end up liking, and if that's compatible with my preferences? Much better for both people to have a little experience and know that they like similar things, and to get that all sorted relatively early on. Otherwise, you can get very emotionally attached, but just can't get over the incompatibility.

    Stronger Emotional Bond
No discussion of the past or past boyfriend/issues of jealousy
It's proven that too many partners damage your ability to pair bond.
I got a brand-new car. Why would I want a used car with some advertisement paint job all over the doors?
Tattoos on the other hand glorify the "Bad boy/bad girl" lifestyle. It's like if I see a woman drinking alcohol and smoking. She had to learn that behavior from somewhere, whether it was peer pressure or wanting to explore.
As a rule of thumb, you generally don't see wife material women drinking, smoking and wearing tattoos, simply from my observations.
