    He plays beautiful jazz chord voicing and is a heck of a good player. And this piano, what can I say, it sounds terrific.

    Does not matter who he's working for. I bought the CP4 and love it. I have a working rock band. Great action and easy to layer and go back to single during a song seamlessly. Fantastic. Now! I heard so much hype about the Roland RD800 so I went to play one at G.C. and expected a close race. Not even close. Action does not compare, features and sounds not nearly as good. Forget the piano sounds compared to the CP4 I know it's a personal thing but I was really surprised at the lack of quality { again compared to the CP4} after all the hype I read and saw on all the sites. I left G.C. very happy with my choice

      John. I have a Yamaha MX88. Have you compared the MX with the CP4? The acoustic pianos on the MX are pretty good, but the electrics leave something to be desired. There are some great solo woodwinds - flutes, saxes, etc., but the sting patches are lacking. The final problem lies with the keyboard. The action is all plastic and after a year the high traffic areas were clunking and getting sloppy. I only play about 4-5 hours a week in my basement. Yamaha did give me a warranty replacement key bed, but I'm afraid that the same problem will occur within another year. Need you input about the CP4. Thanks, Bob.

    Why is the video called a review... This man is working for yamaha! He is showcasing it on their behalf, so it's not a constructive or remotely fair review at all, misleading video title.

      ***** I own it Kyle yes, I sent you a message on facebook so you can ask me what you want about it, be easier that way, if you like, or basically in a nutshell, its a great board yes, very happy with it, its not perfect, but I enjoy playing on it far more than my previous pianos, including the p155 or p255 which I owned.

      ***** Your new piano also sounds great. I think this is more like the p 155 but with better sound.

      Mark Fowler it’s still a product review smart ass!

    • @axelmagnusgaaso
      @axelmagnusgaaso 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's not, dude. The word "review" when it comes to products is exclusively reserved for external reviews, not product demonstrations.. Of course you could literally apply it to your meaning, but that would make it a very confusing term indeed, especially in the digital keyword search based sphere. This is a product demonstration by the manufacturer.
      Another thing that IMO is required for a product review to be a review and not a demonstration, is an actual weighing of the pros and cons. It does not require lack of bias, as all product reviewers are sponsored by something. There will always be bias. But there needs to be a consideration of cons, else it's not a review.

    Well done video showing the CP4's capabilities. I love it. Thank you for showcasing it's wonderous sounds and layers. By the way, I own one and it is an amazing instrument for me.

    PLEASE identify the speakers its attached to.. Without knowing that everything else seems moot.. Every digital stage piano demonstration on youtube fails to identify the speakers or monitors.. whats the point whiteout the entire picture ?

    Incomprehensible how some people, even supposed professionals, do a video review on an instrument which has line outputs and not use them for the sound in the actual video. The sound on this video sounds almost mono and doesn't do this piano any justice. C'mon Yamaha, I'm sure you could figure something out with the use of a mixer... :-/

    Interesting he is not allowed to mention the words 'Rhodes' or 'Wurlitzer' (both a huge part of of late 20th century popular music) but talks only about "RD" (the "tine piano") and "WR" (the "reed piano")... "lawyers dwell on small details .... "?! ... just makes it all more clinical and anemic in my view

    Really cool piano, but don't get fooled: the other sounds aside the pianos and organs are not great.
    Also (this is really the worst part about this piano): the music rest doesn't come with it and it's 60$ (for something in plastic poorly designed).
    Also, the sounds don't hold if you change sounds while holding the keys: good to know!
    I also have problems with the XLR output myself, but can't figure out why.
    This being said, I really like it!

    This is lacking sympathetic strings resonance. It also uses stretching and looping of sounds. As such it is a poor musical instrument which is what matters. Even if it has nice recorded samples of piano grand it's individual notes that do not change harmonics, color or timber as a function of other notes played around before or after. This is old technology with updated samples. If you want a true digital "instrument" look at Roland RD-700NX or RD-800

    I'm so tired of listening to demos like this which contains no one classical quote, not one. For jazz, almost _any_ recent digital pianos sound well. Classical music would show the difference.

  • @jchphoto1

    I am sorry, this is second rate at best, the strings and horns are brought over from the seventies...if they think most people do not care and only want the piano sounds....then give them just that, do not add a bunch of hokey sounds so you can up the price and say you have all of these options in this keyboard. Again, real musicians want quality sounds...if you are going to charge 2200+, then give us our monies worth, not sounds I had years ago and gave away the keyboard because it was outdated...haha...this is outdated right out of the box!!

  • @jchphoto1
    @jchphoto1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is a Joke!! Piano sounds really good.....electric pianos ok....strings and horns? who are they kidding!!?? With all the wonderful strings and horns they could have, they picked ones that were totally awful. Keyboards from the 80s had better string and horn sounds. I went into a music store ready to lay down 2200+ plus for this, forget it, not worth 500usd. Thank you again Yamaha for NOT thinking of professional musicians.

      This is a stage piano for pianists. The majority of the people who buy this piano wouldn't care if those sounds weren't there.
