I was thinking my CP4 had a muffled sound. It was due mostly to the response I got from the keyboard. I thought adjusting the velocity curve would solve it. But it didn't. So I did this: Edit | Part | Enter | Play Mode | VelDepth. And changed the Velocity Depth from 64 to 90. My CP4 went to a whole new level. My Rhodes now are real. The actual number will depend on your playing technique. I tried this with pianos as well, and it was wonderful.
I could kiss you! :-) Like you, I have also felt that my CP4 sounds somewhat muffled. However, I just tried your trick on my keyboard and the acoustic piano sounds finally came to life! I've fiddled with it a bit and have decided to keep the Velocity Depth between 78 and 83 and my velocity curve set to Wide1. Thank you!
'depth' is misused, it is actually levels. It makes no sense at all to design a 32 bits dynamic range instrument (=4294967296 amplitude levels) with only 8 bit velocity depth (0-256 levels). Such an oversight. But when you look at early airplane designs, major concept mistakes happen.

Ciao Bruno! Thanks for your amazing sound pack! I have a brother, who has a CP4 piano too, but the USB device port in his instrument destroyed. So, he can't load nothing into CP4. The To Host port is good and works with computer. We would like to ask you if it possible, can you share with us your performance bank all settings in system exclusive dumped file? (eg. saving with MidiOx software...?) Thank you so much!

Vorrei permettermi di suggerire un approccio alternativo per creare performance, in particolare per semplificare l'uso live e realtime dei due pedali. Configurando il CP4 come Master Keyboard si hanno 4 zone, e quindi si possono usare le tre voice in modo indipendente (la quarta eventuale expander esterno). In questo caso il generatore interno è in "ascolto" dai canali MIDI, e per usare la stessa keyboard ci sono due possibilità: utilizzare un computer con opportuno SW, ovviamente collegato al CP4, oppure usare un cavo MIDI connesso tra OUT ed IN. Cosa ne pensa? Infine una richiesta per Yamaha, sarebbe carino poter sostituire alcune voice, esportate ad esempio da motif XF. Grazie, Domenico (PS postato anche su FB)

In tour con Eros il Cp5 e' configurato cosi' e impegnato per tutte e 4 le zone, una comanda un mini-mac con i Virtual Instruments, una comanda un Virus e l'altra un Integra della Roland e alcune performance fanno l'utilizzo di tutto quanto !! Al prossimo Tour CP4 !
Lorenzo Crivera Scusa vedo solo adesso la tua domanda, si funziona, ci sta solo un problema per il controllo dei volumi, non ricordo quale dei due controlli CC = 07, CC = 04, accetta per il controllo di modalità master. Io uso sul PC midiox per modificare a piacimento i CC. CMq l'ho provato ad esempio per suonare in sovrapposizione all'ottava sopra la stessa voice, ovviamente hai sempre e solo 3 voci. fammi sapere, ciao D

Vista la tua competenza, vorrei chiedere un consiglio: sto scegliendo un piano digitale e sono rimasto affascinato dal Kawai MP11SE, soprattutto per la meccanica. Non è affatto ricco di suoni, però penso che con i Virtual Instruments si può comunque avere il meglio di tutto. Non ho avuto modo di provare il CP4 ma a quanto pare nella meccanica è inferiore al MP11SE. Il vantaggio del CP4 sta nel peso inferiore e nella ricchezza di suoni interni (+ quelli aggiuntivi oggetti di questo tuo video) di qualità. Premesso che a me non serve per concerti ma solo per il mio home studio di registrazione, quale dei due ti sentiresti di consigliarmi?

Prova ... i suoni sono fatti per essere usati con 2 pedali FC1, li sfrutti al massimo cosi' ! la velocity su Utility e' regolata su Wide 2 ma dal vivo meglio metterla su Normal , decidi tu !!

Is the keys of this piano quiet or noisy? I usually play at night using phones, so I do not want to bother anyone at home by playing boogie woogie on a noisy key action.
So you are playing to tracks you cut in your studio correct? And the patches you have for downloading are the ones you are playing on top of the tracks correct?

Esatto! Fai prima un Backup per eventuali tuoi suoni editati ma anche per le impostazioni tipo la velocity che sul mio banco e' regolata su Wide2, cosi' puoi caricare la banca intera ( Type, ALL ) e esaminare tutto e poi decidere se caricarne qualcuno o viceversa caricare il mio banco e riprendersi qualche suono dal tuo!

John Hobart Many of the samples have backing tracks. You have to watch his hands; any parts that he's obviously not playing are in the backing tracks. I don't believe there are any doubled parts, where what he's playing is also on the backing track, so it doesn't take a particularly sharp eye to figure it out.

sorry for great delay.. format a usbkey ( max 8gb) from cp4, put the uncompressed file on the usbkey, put the usbkey on Cp4 and choose Load All!
