Great video! I hate to sound over-privileged, but are there any type of hotels on the Socotra Islands? I’m planning a trip to Yemen, but I have a young child and conditions on Socotra may be too harsh in regard to tent accommodations.
Yes there are hotels in the main town which i met a few people who were initially in tents then opted to stay at the hotels instead. Considering how basic the facilities in the country are, the Summer Land Hotel was actually quite nice.
Depends where you are flying from but without the international flight you are looking at just under $6000 AUD which includes visa, tour guide, meals etc, you can check out my guide for more info!
