@christine a hi, there is a regular flights, I think 2 times weekly from Aden city to Socotra island , but under the last situations and recent crisis in Yemen I don't recommend to you to travel to. I am from Yemen
I really wish for this beautiful Socotra Island not to be over visited by tourists, as an impact to environment and threat to indigenous culture and way of life ,as history show us what had happen to many indigenous cultures around the planet. All the best for people of Socotra and Yemen .
I miss the island it has been 35 years since I used to be there I wish I can visit again. The hospitality of the locals is amazing, they get so excited when we knock on their doors and tell them we are guests. I don’t know how much it changed over the years. I am watching this video with tears in my eyes.

I love Yemen so much I was born there and moved to America. For the first time since I was a little girl, I visited it in 2019 as well, didn't go to Socotra sadly, but you just lived it for me and I thank you so much for that! it really is a place of beauty and peace ❤️

What i love about this island is how it has endemic species of fauna and flora and unique landscapes, it looks so much like early earth, even before the dinosaurs, going to that place is in my to do list before im gone for sure.

Coincedently, while watching this vlog in a coffee shop, a lovely Yemeni girl stopped me to introduce herself as she has watched the video before. Yemenis are some of the kindest in the Arab world. I looked up her hometown on the map, Taizz, Yemen, which is in the very Southern end of Arabia. Lovely coincidence!

I had the same dream as a kid too. It was called Komodo island. I actually made it there and it was better than I could have imagined. The Komodo dragons, green tree vipers, Russels vipers, coral reefs, and wonderful villagers. I suppose for some it would be their worst nightmare but I was in heaven! I'd love to go to Socotra. I'd spend a week there snorkeling with a hawaiian sling for my dinner. I'd pay the guy on that beach to take me fishing and sleep on the beach and try to learn more survival tips from him. That island looks like a such wonderful place. Keep up the vlogs on cool places like this!!! Great job!!!

Coincedently, while watching this vlog in a coffee shop, a lovely Yemeni girl stopped me to introduce herself as she has watched the video before. Yemenis are some of the kindest in the Arab world. I looked up her hometown on the map, Taizz, Yemen, which is in the very Southern end of Arabia. Lovely coincidence!

I'm moroccan (arab) , pure blood of a clan named oudaya army in morocco , our root are from yemen , i lived with yemen peoples 6 months in china and i can tell you , they have a rocky brain and not good to live with at all . except that (ti3iz) or (tiizz )region , people from there are smile laughing spontaneously , i liked them , else houdeida people are not that good

My (Jewish) family told me about the jewish families who used to live there. People would steal their jewish baby girls. (And now they are gone).
Except for that, nice people, I'm sad for the current situation there.

I wish the best for your country. Been researching old cities and old architecture... Yemen is amazing. Heard that alot of ancient buildings are said to have been built by the sons of Noah... Really interesting stuff.

I had the same dream as a kid too. It was called Komodo island. I actually made it there and it was better than I could have imagined. The Komodo dragons, green tree vipers, Russels vipers, coral reefs, and wonderful villagers. I suppose for some it would be their worst nightmare but I was in heaven! I'd love to go to Socotra. I'd spend a week there snorkeling with a hawaiian sling for my dinner. I'd pay the guy on that beach to take me fishing and sleep on the beach and try to learn more survival tips from him. That island looks like a such wonderful place. Keep up the vlogs on cool places like this!!! Great job!!!
