Each marker makes a specific sound when ellen uncapped it... justin knows the sound each cap makes and so instructs ellen to color the appropriate item of clothing... that's why he instructs her to "uncap" each marker before using it and discard it after so she cant use it again
But let's say the caps are making different noises or whatever, doesn't explain how he knew she will use the colours beforehand, brought the outfit and wore it !
yes it does, because he only tells her which item to color in, after he knew which color she chose. That's how he could control how the drawing would look like at the end.
The guy obviously somehow knows the kind of pen she uses, either via an earplug or the sounds or whatever. There's a reason why the guy asks Ellen to pick a pen (with a bright coloured and highly visible cap) first, after which he'd tell her the part she's supposed to colour in. That's all there is to it, it's the illusion of choice that fools people.
He has a buzzer in his pocket buzzing different buzzes ( OR SOME OTHER DEVICE) when Ellen picks a color, and then tell her what to color. If she picks yellow, he tells her to color the tie because the tie is yellow. NOTICE the hesitation when she picks the orange marker, he probably didn't get his buzzer in yet.
holy shit this is the right answer. although i doubt he has a buzzer but maybe an ear piece. notice how he says sniff the orange marker. he wants her to hold it up so whoever is looking at the monitor can tell him what color she chose. once its confirmed she chose orange, he immediately tells her what to color in
This is accurate.. look at the bottom of each marker it has a black sensor!!! Amazing.. he basically told her what to color because he had it all set up
Well, then the trick wouldn't work. But the trick IS impressive, especially to people who can't figure out tricks that too good. But I couldn't find out the trick
How he did it; Each color has a different popping noise when the cap is taken off. Notice how he says which piece of clothing after each marker is open. He then has control of which clothing piece she colors.
@@outkast3321it explains it this way: 1) Says choose a marker and uncap it. She started with yellow. 2) Listens to sound so he knows what color she chose. He now knows she chose yellow. 3) Now that he knows what color she has, he tells her which part to color. Since he has prepared for a yellow tie and he knows she is holding yellow, he tells her to color in the tie. She thinks she is making the choices about what color to make the shirt, socks, shorts, etc. She is not. HE is choosing which color to make everything. She is only choosing the order. Whatever color she chooses first, he gets to then assign to the correct clothing. Now try it again with a different TV Host named Jim. 1) Says choose a marker and uncap it. Jim starts with green. 2) Listens to sound so he knows what color Jim chose. He now knows Jim chose green. 3) Now that he knows what color Jim has, he tells Jim which part to color. Since he has prepared for green shorts and he knows Jim is holding green, he tells Jim to color in the shorts. Hope this explanation was helpful.
If you listen, you can hear that each marker cap makes a different sound when pulled off. He memorized the color/cap sound and told her what to color based on that sound.
@@maximilianprado2221 He knew the sound of the yellow lid, and knew the tie had to be yellow. When he heard the yellow lid, he told her to color the tie. do you understand?

it's about the cap sounds ... every cap has a different sound so when he listens the sound he knows it;s yellow .... and he starts with the tie ... if it was a different cap sound he would understand it's a different colour so he would start with something else ....
He knew which marker she was picking each time, according to the sound or something, and would say what article of clothing to color. Each time he would say it so that by the end, he had her color it just as he wanted. Easy. Only thing I'm not sure about is how he defined which marker was which with eyes closed.
James Wise Magic Honestly, that's how it always works. If logic cannot be applied to any given situation, a setup is always involved. Unless you really believe in magic...
Jason Porter I disagree and No I do not believe in real magic. But to me, it isn't logical to automatically assume its setup just because I cant figure it out. That doesnt make any sense. Its the magicians job to not make you understand, that is what they do. So if I see something and I have no logical explanation, I say "Wow, that was a good one, I'm fooled" because I'm sure there is a logical explanation that does not require a setup actor I just do not know it. I have never ever just been like, "Hmmm I cant think of how its done soooooo clearly it was staged" Umm no, that doesnt even make sense.
James Wise Magic Pretty much this, if someone performs to you in a bar and the performance baffles you completely. "CLEARLY THE WHOLE WORLD HAS CONSPIRED AGAINST ME WITH THIS TRICK AND IT'S ALL STAGED" isn't a logical response.
James Wise Magic the markers all smell differently, he identifies what colour ellen is holding by smell, then tells her to colour the part of the outfit that corresponds to that colour. just one way to do it but it assumes he has a keen sense of smell.(point being he identifies the marker shes holding first somehow then directs her to colour in the clothes)
+James Wise Magic ... When ellen picks up a coloured pen someone let's the magician know what coloured pen ellen picked up. Once the magician knows what coloured pen is picked up, he then tells ellen what part of the clothes she should colour in. There may be something in the magicians ear like a small ear piece which no one else can see with someone telling him what colour is picked up or there may be something under his clothes that buzzes (like buzzes once for red, buzzes twice for blue) to let the magician know what colour is picked up. Or when the magician turns around and closes his eye and tells ellen to pick a colour, the magician may not have fully closed his eye and may be looking at his assistant opposite to him and the assistant may gesture something so the magician knows what colour is picked like as in the assistant might touch their nose meaning ellen picked red or cross their arm meaning ellen picked blue. when the magician see the gesture he will know what colour is picked then tells ellen to colour in the part of the clothes the magician says.
The trick is not hard. First she opens the marker, each one has a different smell. By knowing the color he will ask for a specific piece of clothing. This has nothing to do with sounds of the caps.
***** if you put some more thought you'll notice that Ellen picks the pen randomly but the magician asks her to fill the colors in. So if he knows which pen she picked (based on the click sound of the cap coming off the pen), he can tell her to paint corresponding to what he is already wearing. Humans have 5 senses to perceive the world. If eyes are closed then he can understand by sound smell touch taste. Just my analysis. I may be wrong.
That's funny, the way I see it, he said "tie" EXACTLY as she was uncapping the first pen @1:07. I'd say he must have instantly known which color as she picked them, so I think someone was signalling him someway, an earpiece or 5 vibration places on his body maybe ??
After reading several of the comments it's apparent that it's a good trick. We're not sure how it's done, but it got us all thinking, it's fun and entertaining. Thanks for sharing
How he did it... Someone is telling him(hes waring a very small ear peace) which marker Ellen got, that's why he makes her grab it first then tells her to smell it so the person telling him the colors can get a good look at them. Simple
Sergio Garcia The cap popping noises are not distinguishable. They all sound the same. They all require the lack of background noises. We can rule out that option. The other option is he has five different rumbling devices attached to five different parts on his body. Each body part that gets a rumble indicates which marker she used. The most likely option is he's using a very small ear piece and someone is watching and telling him which one she grabbed.
Okay so how this is done is, he has a ear piece on and when Ellen picks a color he's told what color she picked... say he's told she picked Green... then he tells her to color the shorts Cause they needa be green... same with any other color
No. He's doing it all by himself, the trick is purely electronic. The pens and the pot containing them are rigged, anyone can buy this on the Internet by the way. He's got a device in his pocket or whatever that tells him (via vibrations I guess) which color pen is taken out of the pot, and he tells her what part to color accordingly. That's why I don't really rate this trick because literally anyone can pull it off, you just need the equipment.
Let me tell you the secret: The pen holder is an electronic gimmick. It's is connected with a divice hidden on a part of his body by wave signal. Each color pen when being picked up will make a signal and he can fill it (may be like: the color pens are aranged from light to dark: yellow, orange, red, green, blue. if the yellow pen is picked, it will make 1 time vibration on his body, if the orange pen is picked it will make 2 times vibration...and so on) so, that's the way he knows what color pen is picked. Right after the pen is picked, he asked Ellen to color the thing that will match the pictures and his outfit. Thank you!
Thái Hoàng I watched him do the same trick, but he let five kids pick the colours randomly, and all five coloured the picture at the same time, without being told which piece of the outfit each kid was to colour. Please explain.
All these theories are actually pretty smart, but heres mine Its about the color. Ellen chose the yellow marker first because yellow is actually the first color you see when you look at assorted colors. Its why tv shows make theor main characters yellow, its so they pop out at you. Like spongebob, pikachu, the simpsons, etc. anyways ellen chose the markers in order from brightest to darkest, and Justin probably knew that. But thats just my theory, it could be anything, really.
That theory is thrown out the window when you watch him do the trick on his Netflix show because of all the kids in it each grabbed a marker and chose what to colour at the same time.
"Accomplice signalling him", "marker smells", "cap sounds", "its a setup", none of this would work when he did the trick on his new netflix show. I always cringe when I see stupid theories like that by people desperate to come off as smart. That being said, I have no idea how he did it and I don't WANT to know. I love the mystery behind it. CLEARLY its a trick and not real magic but I just don't want to know how its done. Few things retain their mystery for me these days and life has become a little more boring for it. This is something that retains its mystery for me and I want it to stay that way.
To everyone who thinks he has a device or whatnot...or can hear the different sounds so he tells her which article to color...now he a show on Netflix called Magic for Humans and he does this with a group of kids and they all run up to the page and all color AT THE SAME TIME so yeah...
jeeze, some of you are easily fooled. He can see which color pen she picks each time by merely opening his left eye a sliver and watching. HE THEN TELLS HER WHICH CLOTHING ARTICLE TO USE THAT COLOR ON!! he directs her the entire way. Not that tough to figure out. Put him in a completely closed booth with no way of peeking and THEN I will be impressed. :D
Madison Cooks He tells her what to color based on what marker she picks so he knows exactly what color everything will be. Now if he said color anything you want with the color you picked THEN it would be different.
Hey people in quarantine , I think that he saw the color that Ellen took and asked her to color the outfit which he chooses . So I guess it makes sense Hey yo, Love from India
It is sooooo easy. Guyyyss The solution is: first one The arranging of the colors .notice that the presenter take the nearest and the easiest color to her hand and fingers . So by predicting her psychological behaviour and giving her orders (he didn't make her color freely) So she has taken the same way he arranged. Second one : he knew from the sound of removing cabs - which is different for every color- then he give her order to color the area that he memories and matching this color. To make it believable he should not to : give her a special colors . And not to give her orders. Mohamed ali Egypt
That wouldn't make sense because you can see the color of the marker on tr he outside of the marker. If she chose a blue marker but only green came out, that wouldn't work lol
Is it possible that Justin got an earpiece so small that we cannot see and and when Ellen picked a specific color pen someone talks to Justin what color she picked and Justin will guide Ellen which part to color because he already know what color goes on what part of the drawing?
She chose the colors but he chose the parts.... someone in the audience told him the colors by code, or he could have had a mirror or something. The envelope and his dress was all set earlier. This is my understanding.
if u watch when he was on jay leno and when he is on this....he fucking says the same thing for his opening bit....rehearsed is correct....cool trick though. the trick is the illusion of free will....she (and we) think she made her own choices, but she didnt...he made them all for her, even what color to use.
I noticed in a couple other videos where the magicians would touch their nose before Ellen guesses whatever she is to guess for the trick. Could be something. Idk.
Maybe he has a plant in the audience telling him what color Ellen picked. Or maybe it's some psychological thing. Ellen did start with the warmest color and moved up to the coolest. Either way, it's pretty amazing.
Just because we can't explain how he did it does t mean it's fake and Ellen was in on it. That's the whole point of magic...it's that we don't know how they did that. There are tricks like this that have been done and people have made videos showing exactly how it's done...and those tricks have all been accused of not being a real trick... like its all CGI or they edit it after its filmed...but usually that's not the case...tricks are not supposed to be easy to figure out otherwise what would be the point?
Everyone is saying " oh he must have a buzzer or super smell to know what color" that explains literally nothing. How did he get the prints, how did he GET THE OUTFIT HE WAS WEARING UNDERNEATH HIS CLOTHES. The only way would be to influence ellen
every cap has a different sound so when he listens the sound he knows it, orange so he starts with the socks. if it was a different cap sound he would understand it's a different color so he would start with something else..
OMG its so obvious!!! HE GAVE HIS TRICK AWAY WHEN HE TOLD HER TO TAKE A WHIF OF THE MARKER!!!! The markers each have a different scent! He memorized these scents and he smelled the color after she uncapped it and told her what to color!
I've been around markers before and those kind of markers do not have that strong of a smell. he told her to smell it bc it's a comedy show. The only markers that have a really strong smell are sharpies.
Maybe she was in on it . Not sure how everyone thinks it's the clicking . Even if that were true it doesn't explain his matching drawings and outfit . She was probably in on it
Sorry, but you obviously didn't read the reactions on comments too wel. In these it's stated that he tells jer what piece of clothing to color, after she opens the pen. The pen theory is the most propable to be true.

color caps have a special opening sound
How he did it...
Someone is telling him(hes waring a very small ear peace) which marker Ellen got, that's why he makes her grab it first then tells her to smell it so the person telling him the colors can get a good look at them.
Simple
Sergio Garcia
The cap popping noises are not distinguishable.
OMG!!! !all the markers have different unique scents!!!!
Ive seen him preform this trick in person and i can verify its not an ear piece. it more likely has to do with the pens themselves.
Idk how he does but it's done very well
Okay so how this is done is, he has a ear piece on and when Ellen picks a color he's told what color she picked... say he's told she picked Green... then he tells her to color the shorts Cause they needa be green... same with any other color
That card trick on the table looks kinda like Justin Flom's Card Artistry trick.
Mike DeLaire Yep just watched that too on his new Netflix series, “Magic for Humans”
Name of the Trick?
the kids are in on it.
All these theories are actually pretty smart, but heres mine
Its about the color.
Is that true about yellow?
That theory is thrown out the window when you watch him do the trick on his Netflix show because of all the kids in it each grabbed a marker and chose what to colour at the same time.
Justin Willmer is now my favourite magician in the entire fkn universe! And how nice that he resembles ADAM LEVINE so much! 😀 😘 💕 ❤️ 💞 💖 💞 💕 💘
Any idea where I can buy those pants from
How about someone was telling him which color Ellen took through hidden EarPods ?
Peter Formaini lol I love how confident you are saying how easy it is because you're actually wrong lol. So I guess it's not as easy as you think 😂
Justin Wilman is on disneys win lose or draw
i think he has someone in his ear telling him what color she picks every time. notice how he hesitates before telling her what to color
Don't you think we'd see them Dumb much?
Lena Brown Pretty sure they meant he had an earpiece in not someone standing next to him whispering....now who's dumb much?
But how would he have that exactly on or change the color of what's in the envelope?
Madison Cooks
He tells her what to color based on what marker she picks so he knows exactly what color everything will be.
Now if he said color anything you want with the color you picked THEN it would be different.
+HitTheStixBRODIE What about his clothes?
Someone figured out how he got what colour Ellen picked? The rest of the trick is just memorisation and show, but im not shure about the color picking
Hey people in quarantine , I think that he saw the color that Ellen took and asked her to color the outfit which he chooses . So I guess it makes sense
Hey yo, Love from India
ISn't this the thing with a buzzfeed person in it?
At first I thought he was ganna strip for ellen 😂😂😂😂😂
It is sooooo easy. Guyyyss
The solution is: first one
The arranging of the colors .notice that the presenter take the nearest and the easiest color to her hand and fingers .

Egypt
The pens Dont habe colors inside of it it is just a liquide shows the colors that already painted on the drawing
That's why he said ( stay inside the lines)
I do have to say this is nor correct :P
They have colored caps, jack.
and clearly visible markings of ink run off. In the appropriate color.
That wouldn't make sense because you can see the color of the marker on tr he outside of the marker. If she chose a blue marker but only green came out, that wouldn't work lol
He has good listening skills.
Is it possible that Justin got an earpiece so small that we cannot see and and when Ellen picked a specific color pen someone talks to Justin what color she picked and Justin will guide Ellen which part to color because he already know what color goes on what part of the drawing?
That was so cool!
She chose the colors but he chose the parts.... someone in the audience told him the colors by code, or he could have had a mirror or something. The envelope and his dress was all set earlier. This is my understanding.
What i would have done is that when he says colour in the socks, i would colour in the different section.
FlynnYaung Yeah you'd sure show him. Ruin his trick to prove magic isn't real! You're such a thug bro.
FlynnYaung Yeah, and you'd get booed out of the joint for being a stupid loser.
L.L.Yaung you missed the point of Magic 😂😂
if u watch when he was on jay leno and when he is on this....he fucking says the same thing for his opening bit....rehearsed is correct....cool trick though. the trick is the illusion of free will....she (and we) think she made her own choices, but she didnt...he made them all for her, even what color to use.
nice! ...i wonder if the results will be the same if...
He is from cupcake wars
wow that was soooooo cool i think he just now that that those colors were so commen on people he new that she would pick those colors
I noticed in a couple other videos where the magicians would touch their nose before Ellen guesses whatever she is to guess for the trick. Could be something. Idk.
Mhm, okay, yep, yep, yep, mkay 😂
Maybe he has a plant in the audience telling him what color Ellen picked. Or maybe it's some psychological thing. Ellen did start with the warmest color and moved up to the coolest.
Either way, it's pretty amazing.
but that doesn't explain how he's wearing the thing
Just because we can't explain how he did it does t mean it's fake and Ellen was in on it. That's the whole point of magic...it's that we don't know how they did that. There are tricks like this that have been done and people have made videos showing exactly how it's done...and those tricks have all been accused of not being a real trick... like its all CGI or they edit it after its filmed...but usually that's not the case...tricks are not supposed to be easy to figure out otherwise what would be the point?
Lot on my mind need time to thank about
Everyone is saying " oh he must have a buzzer or super smell to know what color" that explains literally nothing. How did he get the prints, how did he GET THE OUTFIT HE WAS WEARING UNDERNEATH HIS CLOTHES. The only way would be to influence ellen
He has an earpiece his worker tells him the color and where to put it because the worker has the picture telling Justin william
why are people saying its about the cap sounds what does that have to do with anything
every cap has a different sound so when he listens the sound he knows it, orange so he starts with the socks. if it was a different cap sound he would understand it's a different color so he would start with something else..
concordo consigo!
So underated wtf
i think he is using the smell of the markers to know where to tell her to color in.
But, he had it on, and he had it in the other mystery envelope that Ellen was sitting on. That's what I thought first, until I thought about it.
He was sitting on something white if you look before he sits down
She is on it. Its a game.
The only markers that have a really strong smell are sharpies.
even if he did, how did he paint all the other pictures in the same colour and how did he dress himself in those colours
LOL no way. It would be way too risky to wait for the scent to cross the space, and they would get mixed up because scent lingers....
The colors went from brightest to darkest that's how he did it because he new she would color it in that order of the markers
But what if she didnt
No, nothing to do with brightest to darkest...
He can see the pen color in a reflection then tells her which part to color, easy.
He remembered the colors and then told Ellen to do the same
Whatever color pencil you choose to rub over magic paper it will come to appear same color what Justin has set up . Pretty simple . anyway liked that.
Rudra M. Khatiwada wouldn't Ellen have noticed it though if she had taken a blue pen and another color would've appeared
Lol nope
Maybe she was in on it . Not sure how everyone thinks it's the clicking . Even if that were true it doesn't explain his matching drawings and outfit . She was probably in on it
I agree they always rehears beforehand so of course she was in it.
Sorry, but you obviously didn't read the reactions on comments too wel. In these it's stated that he tells jer what piece of clothing to color, after she opens the pen. The pen theory is the most propable to be true.
chris de nijs her*
Wrong
Awesome trick but the marker caps clearly make different noises
Even the marker makes a different noise he already drew the pic and colored it
nurul hasan Right, but he still needs to direct her to which piece of clothing to color so it can match his own drawing.
even dumbledore is amazed
Except that's not how it works lol
funny and entertaining. thats what matters !!love it
I think an assistant used a thumper
Amazing
way beyond wow...
It is actually the paper. Irrespctive of what pen you choose when you cplor the section it will only show up as the pre determined color
Hey Justin nice trick, magic or illusion what ever that was..mind blowing.
But I have seen this or the basic phenomenon in 2007 by Mike super..
So my question is where did this trick originated from and by whom?
And do magicians reveal the secret of there trick to other magicians..
b/c this piece of act is not completely urs.
Anyone who leaps to the lazy conclusion "It's set up" is a fool.
You are NOT a fool for not figuring out the trick, but because you assume that YOU should be able to quickly figure out any and all tricks.
*That's what makes you a lazy thinker and a fool.*
HOW DID HE UM WHAT
Is anyone more excited by his body rather than the trick?
i love him
+geoff371 they used to work together buts its neither of their trick
Love it
He told her which colours to pick and then she remembered them and used them ok the places which he told her
Ellen doesn't rehearse her shows. Ellen like to be surprised with the audience so she never knows what's going to happen when there's things like this.
