I don’t like the Vitamix wide container. They gave in to their customers and lost some quality. I’m happy they are focused on the 48oz narrow containers now.
I agree, but the lower profile is definitely more attractive and the 48 is still more narrow at the base then blendtec. Now what I WILL say, is my vitamix came with a 64 oz container and I just got a 48 oz stainless steel container instead and boy how I like it so much more! I think most of it has to do with the smaller size of the container, but also the stainless just makes smoothies and things so much cooler and more refreshing.
Seeing some bad reviews on Amazon makes me nervous to spend more on something expensive, is it really worth it? Maybe not buying at Amazon is best as well not sure why sometimes products seem like knock off versions or something (but not sure of this just something I’ve wondered after buying some things and other reviews).
You can draw up to 1800 watts from a 15 amp outlet but its pushing it to its limit. Volts x Amps= Wattage. 120V x 15 amps is 1800 watts. If you're using a 2100 watt blender, you need a minimum of a 20 amp outlet which do exist in the US, but they aren't as common. 20 amps would be 2400 watts max from that outlet. So, 2100 watts won't necessarily be lying to you. You just need to have an electrician install a 20 amp outlet, which also needs thicker wire to handle that extra power. It's probably not something most people would use unless they already have these outlets.
I bought an unboxed Vitamix for about $230 & used it daily for nearly 20 years until I moved to Ohio. Just stared back using it & it’s still going strong! I now want a shorter version so it sits under my cabinets properly.
Why doesn't they turn it down to level 2 or 3? Mine has 10 speeds. You dont wanna go speed level 7 or higher usually, way too fast but under 5 is fine.
Love my vitamix ascent. However if you add sharp blades to the blendtec, it becomes significantly better performing than the vitamix It’s been a while but I remember they were making aftermarket sharp blades for the blendtec.
Man I’m searching hours upon hours reviews after reviews and still don’t know what to get 😩 so far the Vitamix seems to be the best but it’s so expensive!
@kellyp5454 I agree that they are expensive, but I've had mine for years and it still works great. Also, Vitamix sells reconditioned ones, which is what I bought, and they come with a warranty. Buying a reconditioned one can save several hundred $.
I have this 5200 blender in white. It's a great blender but, very pricey. It cost close to $500.00. I have only two issues with this blender. Firstly, It has a high and variable speed button but, no low speed button. Secondly, the center dial with the numbers 1, through 10, renders useless. I don't see or hear any difference when I turn the dial.
If you flip the toggle switch that says "variable" and "high" to the "high" position the blender goes at its fastest speed. (It bypasses all the other speeds because it is set on, well, "high". To have the dial affect the speed that "High/Variable" switch has to be turned to "Variable" When it is set to "variable" there are speed differences depending on what you set the dial on. "1" is quite slow and it goes up from there. Personally, I always have it set on "variable" and startout low and then increase the speed. That also seems to help with the blending.
I got my vitamix 5200 about 12 years ago, and I still use it every single day. Best blender!
Got to ask. How can you use a blender everyday. Professional chef???
@@ronallen6578 smoothies for sure, then things like hummus, soups, Nutella, pie fillings, etc.
@@karenhackney9920 Just curious. Thanks for the reply
I literally just bought a used one that will be 12 years old on Sept of this year! I’m excited!
nope

My blend tech has always made wonderful mayonnaise and soups.
I think most vitamixes come with a wider blend container nowadays, so they undermined themselves
Depends on the model, it’s also the general shape which they explained later in the full video. But yea

My Vitamix is 30 years old, still going strong.
I have the Super 5000. It’s grand. I used to use it lots but now I’m into the Nama J2 juicer ❤
Nothing compares to the Vitamix, worth every cent
But the Blendtec can blend iphones 🤣🤣🤣
Just don't breathe this!

Fantastic comparison video
1500 watts is all you are going to get from a standard outlet in the US. If an appliance says it draws 2100 watts it's lying to you.

Not to mention, it's ac power, so that's always going to be the cranking watts when you first start it up. In actual use it well be lower
It's this a current model? How much is it or it's replacement?
She worded some of that wrong but it's still good information
Hello I stay in Nigeria where can we purchase this product
What about vacuum blending?
whabbout compact blender ?
I wish there was a decent blender at a reasonable price with a glass jar. I just use mine for making smooties. I don't need any fancy.
wish I had 500 bucks for a blender
You do. Save $5 a week and you’ll have it in 2 years
@@mrslap1924😂😂🥴
Worth every penny.
They usually go on sale on Amazon quite often. I just got mine for $299.00!

I love my Blendtec…Look how tall the vitamix is, over head cabinets would have to be quite high…
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Will it blend ?
Yes, far too much,
Will it blend? No, I guess not...
Price range?
$500
Car payment
So its high end BUT!! It has a fault. So its not high end.
Cause its to fast, but it does one good thing smoothie. Are you promoting or demoting!!
Can it blend a crowbar?... Because we know which blender can't blend a crowbar 😒

What about a regular oster blender? Powerful motor, thin jar, does mayonnaise, smoothies, crushes ice...
This video seems a paid advertisement.
She said this is for the high end category. They probably have a pick for a more affordable option too
But you don’t have to run to at full power and if you fill the blender enough it won’t become frothy at all…. This is a horrible video
I need it for personal smoothies, I don’t want a big batch every time!
