Happy Anniversary, Gina! I love visiting your channel and to see all those lovely Miss Read books on the shelves behind you. I had a similar "Miss Read" buying experience. Back in 2018 I found 12 Miss Read books at a big library sale, and I was in heaven! Many were well-worn, but clearly well-read. I had to go back the next day to get them all, because I had traveled to the sale on the subway (on a hot steamy July day) and couldn't carry them all home in one trip. I have read them all and still have most of them. I may start a re-read project, since I miss reading them. Good luck to the winner who I am sure will enjoy them as much as we do!

How fun, Gina!!! I’m so glad that I found your channel. I truly thought my mom (82) and I were the last people still reading Miss Read. It’s so wonderful to find like minded ladies! My parents are snow birds and I’m down south visiting them now. Before I hopped on the plane I had this big dilemma of what book to bring. I hadn’t read The Shell Seekers since the late 80’s. I have an old battered copy that I’m not worried about damaging, so that is what I’m wrapped up in now. I realize now that I truly have carried some of those scenes with me for decades-a very poignant story! I would love a new copy, so I’ll try for Rosmunde Pilcher! Congratulations on three years. You did the right thing in starting your channel. You have such a peaceful quality to your videos that is pleasant to watch. Many more successful years to you!

I had never, ever “met” someone who not only read, but talked at length about the joys of intelligent, well-written, yet “soft” books such as Austen, Pilcher, Read, Thirkell, Tabor, Benson, Wodehouse, Trollope, Heyer, Sayers, von Arnim, Brontë, where do I stop! Well, maybe you spoke of most of these authors, or maybe not, but I was on a listing-roll and couldn’t stop😅. My copies of the Miss Read books are mostly broken and sad because they were the only ones I could find at the time. Would love to add your three beauties to my small collection. How fun, Gina!!! I’m so glad that I found your channel. I truly thought my mom (82) and I were the last people still reading Miss Read. It’s so wonderful to find like minded ladies! My parents are snow birds and I’m down south visiting them now. Before I hopped on the plane I had this big dilemma of what book to bring. I hadn’t read The Shell Seekers since the late 80’s. I have an old battered copy that I’m not worried about damaging, so that is what I’m wrapped up in now. I realize now that I truly have carried some of those scenes with me for decades-a very poignant story!
I would love a new copy, so I’ll try for Rosmunde Pilcher!

Happy Anniversary, Gina! I’m fairly sure I watched your channel from the beginning, or close to it anyway. And boy, was I a quick subscriber! I had never, ever “met” someone who not only read, but talked at length about the joys of intelligent, well-written, yet “soft” books such as Austen, Pilcher, Read, Thirkell, Tabor, Benson, Wodehouse, Trollope, Heyer, Sayers, von Arnim, Brontë, where do I stop! Well, maybe you spoke of most of these authors, or maybe not, but I was on a listing-roll and couldn’t stop😅. My copies of the Miss Read books are mostly broken and sad because they were the only ones I could find at the time. Would love to add your three beauties to my small collection. I have just recently completed collecting my Miss Read vintage hardback set,of both Thrush Green & Fairacre. It has taken over a year to complete & alot of money!

am excited to read.

Oh wow, how great that you have the complete set of Miss Read. I am longing for the day when I have them all, but I'm so leery of buying books on-line, I've had some really bad luck in the past. (But I've also had some really good luck!) If I don't find the ones I'm missing soon, I'll probably start poking around on Thrift and Abe books.

I got Thrush Green from the library and enjoyed it and will try to get Shell Seekers from the library too.
