THE TWO SETS OF PROMPTS TO CHOOSE FROM:

3. What percent of books you read come from the library?
4. Do you listen to audiobooks or get e-books from the library or are you hooked on Audible or Amazon or something else?
5. Did you go to storytime at the library as a kid?
6. Have you ever borrowed a movie or video game from your library?
7. Have you ever gotten fined for returning books late? If so, how do you feel about that?
8. Do you attend special events, groups or book sales at the library?
9. Have you ever given or taken a book from a little free library, a book box or a book swap?
10. Bonus! Does your librarian know you by name?

Hi Gina! Thanks for doing our original tag and the nice words. We appreciate you, bud. The book buds are dinosaurs so we write down the tag questions on paper 😂😂🤷🏻♂️ I love old fashioned libraries and hate when they renovate ! Great answers!!
Ha! I’m way too lazy to write out the questions. I am a big copy/past fan lol.
Hi Gina! Using my library has saved me sooooo much money on books. I'm able to determine what books I know I'll read again that I would want to purchase and which ones I'm glad I didn't buy haha! I love the atmosphere at my libraries also. So peaceful and a great escape.
I totally agree. Just bought the three books in the soldier son trilogy and have dnf/d it. A waste of money!
Oh that's a bummer!
The ebook options through the library are so amazing! My library system started getting tons more during the pandemic and have kept that up since then.
I hope you're doing well Gina! 😊
Hi Elle! I just love getting e-books from the library. I realize when I get in a reading slump (like now), it's usually because I am trying to read off my shelves but I really prefer my e-books!
This is so weird that you and I probably used the same library in Seattle for a period of time. I lived there and worked downtown for nine years. I loved going in there to get physical books and always knew exactly where my favourites were. What a fantastic building. So we may have crossed paths without even realising it Gina!I I live along way from there now - I’m in England!
Hi Janet! That is amazing. Small world is t it? I was actually in the central district, so I mostly used the Madrona branch. How fun that you ended up in England. I’d love to hear that story!
I listen to audiobooks while doing chores and sometimes while eating
I usually watch TH-cam while I’m eating 😄
I think I can beat your Seattle rain here in Lancashire England! Best wishes with your brain and band width! Forgot to tag you with the Sir Isaac Newton Tag. Best wishes and happy reading! Smashing it.
Thanks! The sun just came out here and it’s wonderful!!
Hi Gina! I'm in Indiana and our local library also changed from a cozy environment to a contemporary one..and also did away with Dewey Decimal, which apparently most libraries are doing these days, so I have a hard time finding things, although the staff is very helpful. I do borrow tons of audiobooks through Hoopla. Have fun with your sister at Disney.
Omg I haven’t heard of that! How are they organizing the books??????

Good question..lol. Apparently, books are now by subject and sub categories. I don't like it at all and doubt that I will ever get used to it. So will continue asking for help when I'm there..😁
Hi Gina! I listen to stuff when I am out walking. It's the only way I can manage anything on audio and it really sticks to my brain, visualisation, I suppose 😅.
Hello Gina, thank you for the lovely words and shout out. We have very similar answers especially around audiobooks. I’m not good at multitasking. But maybe it’s what you said. I just can’t figure out how to incorporate it into my daily life. I was thinking of getting an iPad and learning how to use iMovie, but my partner uses a complicated editing software that I’m not touching with a 10 foot pole.😊
I live in a formally rural area and we still have our old library, but they built a new one a few towns away from me that I’ve never been into. Have a wonderful time in Disneyland. This is a wonderful tag from book buds. Thank you for doing it. Aloha dear friend.MMM
I use iMovie on my phone, and it’s pretty easy. But I usually don’t do any editing - sometimes I will put two clips together (like today when I had to pause to beat on my cat) or put up a picture of a book.
Hi Gina, knowing your love for Sarah Water's historical fiction, have you ever tried Jo Baker? I would recommend The midnight news or The undertow
I have only read Longborne. But I did enjoy it! Thanks for the rec!
Audiobooks and ebooks borrowed mostly from the NY City system that all New Yorkers can use regardless of where in the state you live (I’m nowhere near NYC). Before the pandemic I went to my local library frequently, but almost all my books were holds from other libraries in our county system. I read everything I can on Kindle or audio, and only buy the paper books if it’s one of the few series I collect or it’s a favorite that I love having the actual physical copy of. I also read a fair amount of fantasy books and buy them entirely on Kindle. They are just too huge to hold in my hands comfortably.
I totally agree. How people can read those giant books in a physical copy is beyond me.
Hi Gina…yes, I use my local library almost exclusively. It is a county library so I have access to a large catalog. Primarily I read physical books which arrive in about a week after reserving, but I do download as well. I always check out their $1 table and I do pick up quite a few books there. I rarely buy new books anymore, but if I do I order them from Blackwells in London. Always a good price and no shipping cost to the US.📖
I just pre-ordered Katie Lumsun’s new book from Blackwells. I love that place!
I listen to audiobooks when cleaning, and driving even short distances. I use my library for physical, and hoopla and Libby for ebooks and audio. Have fun at Disney.
Thanks Lindy
