Huge salute to pro's like Randy, who take their time to give us information, that in many cases took them years to learn. Their generosity is priceless, and elevates the entire sport. The problem I'd venture to say that the vast majority of us have is that, fishing is no longer a leisure sport for the lower middle class. We're living in a day and age where baits now cost $25 a lure, and you can spend $100+ grand on a bass boat. I'll also go on to say that, a lot of us aren't touring the country fishing different lakes with different food sources. Fishing primarily in central Florida, there's a ton of info on soft baits, but to this day, I've never heard, or read an article as to what colors are chosen for hard baits, whether that's a Rattle-trap, Jerk-bait, Crankbait, etc.... *As a Midwest native, I've come to learn that Florida is its own beast (and many ways). So, my question to Randy would be....are these still the primary colors he would use, or at least start off with, in central Florida (Okeechobee, Toho, Harris, etc...)?*

Love the vid Randy! Awesome for budget minded anglers. Only thing you might add is a metallic reflective color. 4 baits , for about 100.00 investment. Not a bad Christmas gift either. 👍🏻

Thanks again for the juice Randy! For all you guys saying Megabass gear is overpriced, you get what you pay for. Holds true in every aspect of life. You can catch fish on other jerkbaits, but you catch more with the best.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Table Rock SP. it’s funny you said (BASE) as Yuki -Ito himself said that it’s a homonym
(My word not his) for his love of fishing and Music!
The Table Rock SP with purple back and green sides is a deadly must have color. The silent lures in this color are amazing producers when the water is cold and especially when if’s very cold.

@Randy Blaukat- I was lucky enough to find some of these on the shelf at my local sporting goods store, and realized I have walked past them 100 times without seeing them. The packaging makes them almost disappear on the shelf. I honestly think they should brighten the label and packaging so they stand out better on the shelf. Just a personal bit of feedback they may want to hear from a consumer.

Randy, I ordered these 3 baits last winter. One of the baits was defective. I called bait-wks, they said I should have contacted mega bass. The manager promised to send a new bait, but I never hear back from them (I did send the bad bait back to bait-wks). Note : if I bought a new GMC truck and had a problem, I would contact the dealer where I got it from, not General Moters.

For the Megabass colors, the Clear Laker is best bc it has flash and a lot of those natural colors like green and black....silver. A lot of people would agree that this is the best color for clear water. I know bc I live in Kalifornisthan. I don't even like or have this color. Just see it catch too many fish. The other color I like is the Tennessee Shad bc it's flashy, shiny, and natural. Caught my biggest spotted on that. I do love that GP green or whatever....that's a winning color in clear water. As for white, I like it on something big like the LBO, and I believe LBO is ghosted. I have used the Ricky Clunn french pearl on the 110 style and caught a good share of stripers. Off couse, this thread is in regards to bass so I wouldn't say white is good unless there is a shad frenzy. Colors varied from brand to brand. I know for a fact that the white is a killer choice in another brand. I know Megabass has way too many colors. Most of them Megabass work well, not bc of the color, but the way the lure performs and designed. Megabass still needs that smelt color in the Imakatsu or the Spanish Alburno in the LC. As for me, a lot of my Megabass get color change and mod out of the box. Mine get blinged out. We in the imaginary billionaire's club. You can believe dat. From the pearl eyes to the metallic colored hooks to the mylars trailers to the paint to the coat. Megabass cannot satisfy my insatiable appetite. I'm at the top of this game mate.

Randy, I love your videos. I just bought my first Megabass 110 because of your video on catching an estimated 5000 bass on a Vision 110 in pro blue. I have been fishing some other jerk baits, but wanted the best. I got the GP pro blue, but am wondering if I should exchange it for the Magic Matte Pro Blue. I am fishing Lake Erie, the water is pretty clear but is typically windy and overcast. Let me know should I go with the Matte or the GP. Those were the only finishes in stock at my tackle shop. Thanks

Just met an elite underground Hmong lure painter the other day while testing my lures. I don't give men credits unless I see for certain they are true specialists at what they do. Sometimes you know this just by talking to them. Many times they are all talk. He said he is willing to put his work against any Megabass for money. His Megabass family has turned that bet down. He says a lot of painters that do sell, do not sell you their secrets. I know this is true, bc I know another painter who is like this. The man continues that painting is an art that the Japanese do not understand. He says what I have been telling The Hook Up Tackle that Japanese don't know how to paint a bluegill and I have said to many that Japanese don't have North American paint schemes down. We have to be forced to use Japanese baitfish colors if we opt to use them. The Hmong guy says to me and I relate it to the swim. He says that at 15 feet away the lure is different from up close and many painters do not understand this. He says that's why he gets bit more than people with JDM stuff and everyone else. I says to him, "Yes, I understand what you mean. It's like the swim, and this is why I'm here today. People don't realize that you have to test the swim at different distances bc it swims different out there than it does near you." See, when an elite or genius talks, it sounds like insanity, but if you are on his level, you will know there is a fine line between insanity and genius.

I just don’t think these lures are worth the money. They are made overseas just like the $10 ones. I not saying they might not better quality but not 100% more quality. I change the hooks and tune my cheap ones and have no problems catching fish.
