Hey Randy, I love all of the tips! I have an idea for a video that would be cool to see. I think some anglers come here to watch and get tips on being successful when they don’t have the time to be on the water all of the time to locate bass or get better. I might help everyone to know how you plan your trips before you ever get to the water. I.E. based on time of year, fishing pressure, picking area of the lake , bait selection, plan of attack, back up plans etc. just a thought. Maybe even some old stories thrown in.
Always great info randy, and serious anglers really appreciate mental Monday's, and tech advice, by far the most informative channel out, we appreciate everything, finally someone talks about all the important things associated with this sport, you the man randy! A down to earth guy,and a true professional, thanks again pal!
Randy I watched this video a couple of times in the past month and went out and put it to the test on 1/17/22 @ Lake Bob Sandlin here in Texas. I went down to the lower end of the lake and found the clearest water I could find where sun was hitting directly against 3 to 7 feet of water. Water clarity was probably 2 to 4 feet. I threw a jig, a deep crankbait, and a Ratl-Trap for about the first 3 hours and had zero bites. The whole time I’m doing this in the back of my mind a voice was telling me break out that suspending Rogue you tied on and do what Randy instructed you to do. Finally I did and I boated two fish pretty quick. I probably could have caught more fish but I left early. I forgot to bring food and hunger was wearing me out. Oh and both of these fish were picked up off transition areas near some very deep water.
Yup MB vision 110’s are the deal brother, tried others but these are the deal!! Also at the complete other end of the price spectrum and super old school Smithwick rattlin rogues work very well up north!!
Not sure if you already have videos on these. If not, can you do a video on the biggest check cashed and how you did it. Worst decision you made in an event that cost you. Best sponsors you have had and why. Great videos man!
Off subject, What colors and types of lures do you use for bream and crappie? Area were I live the waters were contaminated with PCB's from the 1960's Large fish are unsafe to eat and I only fish to eat them. So small fish do not get the build up of contaminants. DNR only recommends 1 large fish per month to ingest. Thanks for your time.
The jerkbait that works for me in smallmouth fishing is the Jr 110 pro blue 60 degrees and below. I have caught fish every time I have fished it in 60 degrees and below in 4ft clarity or more
Hello. Thanks for what you do, and I really enjoy your videos. I live in North Carolina, and the visibility in the lakes I fish, is more like 10 or 12 inches. (High Rick, Lake Jordan, etc). What jerkbait color would you recommend for these types of lakes? Thanks.
oh good, I have that color in MB 110+1 JR... Do a lot of bank fishing so I dont get to use it so much, but my best color has been sexy shad, probably because my water is slightly muddier
I remember getting my dad this EXACT bait, and he would never throw it. Just never understood the “megabass jerkbait” craze. Until I told him to tie it on when were fishing in late April on our home waters. He caught himself a state citation crappie and at least a half dozen 2-3 pounders on it. I don’t think it’s ever came off of his jerkbait rod since🤣😂
Good stuff! I've used the Pro Blue 2 with the orange belly with good success. My Wakasagi out produces it in my waters though. I'll have to give my pro blue a little more play. My water conditions match what you mentioned as ideal.
Randy, your channel is like the Chinese Restaurant down the street from my house. I can’t get enough of the Broccoli and Chicken. I always leave a tip.
Question - I’m stuck on banks with limited access and am happy if I just catch one or two fish big enough for dinner. Could you give some guidance about selecting which species to focus on?
Mr.Randy I’m a worry wart only please if you have time to go see a doctor get your cough looked at please I don’t know if u realize but you have been coughing for a long time on almost every video , I only care about you I’m not trying to be mean or a hater neither , I love all your videos and I will not stop watching them cause I think they are all great , you are a dad like me and I only care I would never try to be mean , love this one too , sincerely mr.Randy , my cousin who taught me how to bass fish that was 23 years older than me developed a cough and I told him the same thing , and now he’s not with us anymore , please just get a check up

Pro blue is a good one I really like it on those low wind high visibility days. Table Rock shad or table Rock special is my favorite I've caught more fish on it than any other spotted bass absolutely destroy it.
Randy, Pro Blue is my favorite color MegaBass 100 too. But diving deeper, my real favorite is the Pro Blue 2 with the orange spot on the belly. Do you throw that? Rhetorical question I'm sure.
Lighter line, medium power rod with moderate fast action and a smooth hook set….these hooks will keep the fish pinned and only bend, when using overpowered gear with too much force.
@@tagg946 you nailed it! Everything you mentioned is right! I would never change these hooks as they are great and the risk of killing the baits action without a need is not worth a try (although Tactical Bassin and The Hook Up Tackle gave some options). The Vision OneTen is a delicate lure and should be fished accordingly….
I've looked at the website pictures of the Pro Blue and Pro Blue II - and I'll be darned if I can see the difference. For those of you with better eyes than mine, can you describe how they differ from each other?
I'm thinking blue looks like a natural shad color to a bass..I've done well on blueish swimbaits on Dale Hollow..They would bite a blueish swim bait 3 times as much as a natural shad pattern swimbait that day for some reason..🤔It was getting dark, maybe they saw it better? Can't go wrong with anything blueish I believe..
just had my first jerkbait catches saturday! no bass but some massive 22" walleye clobbered them, lol. lost a couple baits (SAD!) practicing with some non-MB brands. and though the baits weren't megabass, bait color and the rod were. no fatigue and had a blast. Med Spinning rod with 7# flouro. thanks for all the tips! keep the vids coming!
Great question. I've been curious about Randy's experience with other jerkbaits... Perhaps he should have a jerk off to prove the superiority of the MB 110?
@@MaineStreamFishing yea, I fish a 6th sense or lucky craft. A MB vs 6th sense might really start some beef and expand the viewership. Might have to get Johnny to help with the video though.. lol

Water has different density at different temperatures, which in turn affects the buoyancy of the water. So a jerkbait that suspends or slowly floats, may start to sink
