Thanks, EOD! I am planning to go back to Japan for a longer journey. While I am enjoying cashless transactions, I also prepare for small businesses that do not have card terminals and require cold cash. I've tried withdrawing cash from different terminals (different parts of Japan too) and I do not like how much deductions I get whenever I check the transaction history. 😅

I find Wise non-intuitive. I am used to cash and conventional bank cards. Please make a video on how to use contactless payment using digital card in Japan. I can't figure it out. I do not want to use my DBS card from Singapore. The am waiting to get a physical card to my home address in Canada. It takes two weeks and I left to travel before it arrived. But it is not obvious how to use the card in Japan. Also, I do not understand why one can fill containers with foreign cash (e.g. JPY, rather than my home currency of CAD) if Wise converts CAD to JPY at point of purchase.
I opened a Wise account because FXS fees are high in Canada. FXS booths in Japan do not give a very good rate (compared to Cambodia), Canadian ones give even a worse rate plus charge a fee and CAD is weak right now.
