Chris turner is beyond insane. You can tell that he has a great mind and has complete control, and he's able to combine the two. He isn't "hall of fame", he's Legendary.

I honestly love listening to the instrumental versions of both albums because you get to really hear the nuances of the drumming and guitar playing that you dont get when you listen with the vocals. The vocals are absolutely amazing but the instrumentals are fucking MIND BLOWING
It’s about fuckin time. Chris is an absolute scientist behind a drum kit. It’s not just about crazy sporadic fills and chaos, everything he does is an intricacy that he puts math behind and he’s an extremely knowledgeable musician when it comes to timing and flow. He’s incredible.
I really can’t wait to see you finally watch Aric Improta from Night Verses... one of the coolest most creative drummers (and heavy bands) out there IMO. Loooove em!
it's common to use recording software as a writing tool for modern metal bands. that helps you imagine things you wouldn't come up with naturally, you don't even have to play it yourself until you play live.
@@SuperStupidityTV could be hybrid too. often you try programming something and while playing it feels like doing something else. but my bet is there is a pc involved in some way.
Chris is such a cool guy! Met him couple summers ago before a small show in the Netherlands ( 25 people?) He even helpend my friends loading up after their first pre show for a big band. The band in general is awesome and nice
@@DevinMarkovichMetal these guys are from the guitar pro generation so entirely possible they write a riff and then notate it straight away or even just record it straight into a daw and notate it the day after. I've done it so I know it's possible

This dude doesn't trigger or do any sound replacing, which for this style of metal is super fucking hard, and incredibly rare. Theres a video on here that shows him recording and the studio engineers talking about how much of a freak the fuckin guy is. They even isolated his kick drum track so you can hear how consistently he hits. That is very rare these days
My favorite metal album of all time. Christ Turner is an amazing drummer and the rest of the band is so absolutely amazingly talented and practiced. If you like metal you'll love this band. I even got a Hikari tattoo because I love it so much
In my personal opinion; Chris Turner, best drummer in the world. Same thing you said, he covers everything that I find super dope in drumming. His sort skill set is the sort I'd strive to have in my drumming future. He's really just damn good, I hate/love him

Pretty similar to Meshuggah's writing process but of course Haake's parts are a lot more mind bending but less random

In the modulation at 0:53, dotted quarter notes become the new pulse and then triplets become the new pulse when going back, I think.

Yep. The only thing that it is missing amongst the crappy cuts in editing is excessive use of shaky cam and rapid zooming used in lame fight scenes.
