I'm very happy that you felt so delicately in Taiwan. It's really difficult to show it through making a video. As Taiwanese, if we want to travel and see the scenery, we still have to go abroad, but most Taiwanese people have a voice in their hearts that says "outside No matter how beautiful the scenery is, living in Taiwan feels more like home.”
There's a Hsinchu based British TH-camr - his channel is called Asian Hiklopedia. I think his Chinese is pretty good - a lot of his videos are about hiking in Taiwan, but he actually does quite a good job introducing the odd historical spot here and there. There are some commemorative monuments to old battles fought in Taiwan and such. I would also imagine that making some aboriginal friends would open an entirely different world and view of Taiwan to you (you have touched a little upon this in the past).
I love watching you riding your black bike around the city and just being spontaneous like you normally would. I get to see the streets of Taiwan and its charming rural areas. Simple and fun.
Prozzie, your videos have been our go-to after a hard day's work. I am from Taiwan and my husband is American and we live in Los Angeles. Watching your video is fun and also as if hearing/having a conversation with a friend who understands Taiwan. We are in marketing, advertising and would love to help you build more viewers. Keep it up with amazing videos.
I really liked this video. Tying in your favourite video game with your recent trip to Japan shows a personal side of you. Then tying it bak to your video title tied it all up nicely. Well done. P.S. As for your other Japan stuff, I'd be interested in seeing them.
You need historian friends/collaborators, fellow content creators like 李文成 or 呂捷. Get them to show you historical sites in Taiwan and talk about them. Tainan is the obvious place to start, but actually the entire island is full of these sites. Temples, palaces, old battle grounds, assembly halls, squares, market places. This land does have a shorter history compared to a lot of ancient cultures like Japan or Greece or India, but four centuries isn't nothing. The stories ARE out there, just not as widely known and celebrated, yet. Somehow I have a feeling that you can and will make a difference there.
This was a good video and both the insights into Japanese and Taiwanese cultures kept it interesting. Nice work 👍 Have you thought about making videos around the subject of the recent earthquakes in Hualien or affects of typhoons on the people. Taroko is still closed in areas…how about exploring some of that? Just some ideas for ya! Cheers
As a Taiwanese student in the University of Aizu, I am shocked that Prozzie made a video about there. Aizu or Fukushima is a very interesting place, many of many places to visit, and Akabeko(red bull which will shake head like manekineko) is very cute😊 there are also a lot of cuisine like, kitakata ramen, raw horse, aizu coffee milk….
It's easy to understand that Taiwan has only been developed for about 400 years while Japan has been around for more than 2000 years. That's why you can easily discover more historical sites in Japan. However, I woldd like to say thank you for promoting Taiwan so seriously.
i got 300 hrs on shogun 2. I know exactly how you feel about castles and clans lol. Thats what I do every time I visit japan too. Wish they make shogun 3 already its about time.
You should travel more around the country. Combine your usual interesting topics with scenerie. Take us to the top 5 mountain hot springs or top 10 beaches in the north. Look at earlier videos from Chris to inspire you.
Taiwan is just so young. I'm much more excited about its future than it's past. The same cannot be said about most places. As for you, I think casual exploration about interesting and fun places/ things in Taiwan would be nice. Vlog style. Something like Best Indian food in Taipei, or Surfing in Waiao beach, or Hunting for snakes/ deer/ whatever in the mountains. Idk dude but I think you've missed on a ton of current event opportunities like when Popeyes opened up here. You also didn't say jack about the US election. People are here for you, not Taiwan. I'll leave it at that.
Yes, you need to find some people who understand the modern history of Taiwan. There are super amazing stories. For example, for a long time, no one "wanted" Taiwan because it was "full of people who would chop off your head." The stories are there, there is just an awkward lack of integration between the history of the local people and the Chinese people who migrated here.
If you don’t follow the trend.Find a topic that is very difficult. But I always see your special thoughts. different from other, maybe not popular. I also like Cole Fogle interview video very much.
Same thing, Hard for me to introduce Taiwan to my Aussie neighbours. However, most of them recognise Taiwan as an independent country and Do everything they can to preserve the democracy.
I feel like to watch ur daily life in Taiwan as a “foreigner “. I suppose u can give ur options when u see Sth need to be changed or improved.(if it makes sense, I think most of Taiwanese will take it). However, we would like to see “suggestions “ for the problem instead of “criticize” only. Anyway, I really enjoy watching ur videos all the time.Thank you for ur efforts.
It's very weird that people don't regard the Japanese Shrine in TW as a part of Taiwanese culture. Let's think about the Christian culture in South America. Christian culture was brought to South America by those conquerers/colonizers, and nobody visiting these countries say "this is not south American culture."
I think you don't have to start with something that exactly symbolizes "Taiwan". Taiwan is an immigrant country, so the "core" of Taiwanese culture will be more blurry than Japanese because of the combination of different cultures. Start with a "topic" that you are interested in will be a good way. For example, if you like historic structures or ruins, you can start by introducing them! We have Spanish ruins, Netherlands castles, Ming Dynasty Zheng family ruins/buildings, Qing Dynasty ruins/buildings, Japanese colonial ruins/buildings, and some other historic locations/buildings/ruins related to other countries. Start with an interesting topic, I think you will get the "core" of Taiwanese culture in the future.
Taiwan is an island still within a civil war with Mainland China. Taiwan is an island full of tourists and natives. How to introduce Taiwan is to tell how you think of Taiwan, or update the progress of you discovery of Taiwan.
😂 I too had a go but ran out of things to say about it. Maybe some car drivers are awful - hide behind the blacked out windows - aah who cares about that.?. But i do like it here, safe and civilized - keep it up fella - all good so far
It can be challenging to find distinctly Taiwanese cultural experiences because Taiwan and China share the same cultural roots. From a Western perspective, it may be difficult to acknowledge, but Taiwan is fundamentally part of China culturally. The key difference between the two lies in politics-Taiwan and China operate under separate governments.
I think you should release the Japanese content and do a Taiwanese video and release them both one at the start of the week and in the middle of the week.
I like the Taiwanese videos and also the Japanese videos. I also like the travel video to the UK. Why not release one week a 100% Taiwanese video the next week a 100% Japanese video till you run out of footage from your last trip to Japan. Anyways thanks for the videos :)
Awesome video giving us an insight into prozzies mind ❤
Japan also has its own language, but still many foreigners appreciate the ancient and modern culture when they visit

I always feel relaxing and calm after watching your videos.👍
I love watching you riding your black bike around the city and just being spontaneous like you normally would. I get to see the streets of Taiwan and its charming rural areas. Simple and fun.
Seconded. Miss the old bike talks.

As a Taiwanese student in the University of Aizu, I am shocked that Prozzie made a video about there. Aizu or Fukushima is a very interesting place, many of many places to visit, and Akabeko(red bull which will shake head like manekineko) is very cute😊
there are also a lot of cuisine like, kitakata ramen, raw horse, aizu coffee milk….

I love shogun 2 as well! I think it’s the best total war game out there, or at least top 3. Hopefully they make shogun 3 soon
Yes

Just be yourself !❤️❤️❤️

Prozzie should make a gaming channel! Id watch the shit outta that
It's very weird that people don't regard the Japanese Shrine in TW as a part of Taiwanese culture.
Let's think about the Christian culture in South America. Christian culture was brought to South America by those conquerers/colonizers, and nobody visiting these countries say "this is not south American culture."
lol we even got castles in Finland, even one in my small 50k town, surely Taiwan has SOME castles or such fortresses?

I think you should release the Japanese content and do a Taiwanese video and release them both one at the start of the week and in the middle of the week.
I'm just here for the Canadian "about" accent ;)
This game named shogun!!😂
Is there really a game?
Move to Japan?
"Commit Sudoku"? What are you talking about man. 😂
I love Taiwan! 🇹🇼
Irrelevant, I know...but ironic how content about China from people living in China rakes in many more views.

Taiwan is a country 🇹🇼
😎❤️🇹🇼‼️
I would love to see the videos from Japan.
