As a young guy , Japan would be awesome. You need energy. I did it ( and Hong Kong = wild, crazy, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia) ( not a Teacher). Because I married a sweet Taiwanese girl 27 years ago ( still) I eventually moved forever to Taiwan . Main reasons: it’s easy, free healthcare, low taxes, everything works, very cheap cost of living compared to my home country, U.K. Enabled me to retire at 56. I was wild in Taiwan from 1997 . It was awesome . Stunning educated, office girls without the sleaze and tatts. As I’ve grown older, I cut back but realized that South Eastern Taiwan is a hidden gem . Pacific Ocean, clean air, deserted beaches, great mountains . The best things in life are free. You can swim, gym, snorkel, hike and surf for peanuts in retirement. That East Rift Valley and the Mountains- superb. The Japanese would pay big money for that in their home country.

I love Taiwan. I was in Taiwan when I was a student in Taipei and Hualien City and it was cool. Of course I hadn't been there in a long time so I came to Taipei a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved it. I was supposed to meet up with this one Canadian TH-cam guy while I was there but thanks to the typhoon we didn't get a chance to hook up.
Gotta keep in mind, the Taiwan we have today is extremely young - about 100 years. That's why it's so empty. Yet at the same time it's so impressive how much it has developed (if you're in Taipei). Being so young also has its benefits such as it not holding on to values that do back centuries.

Yep, there are two things Taiwan is still deficient: work pay and schooling for children. Even local tw with the means to do so will work outside the country then come back and also take their kids overseas to study.
As a Taiwanese, I am always deeply touched by Prozzie's videos whether Prozzie praises or criticized some aspects of Taiwan. What the videos present is so honest, really, really so touching my heart.
I'm happy that your take on China was respectful, I've been there numerous times over the last 15 years and I love it. This is why I clicked, I was curious to see if your description/take on China had soured like your (out of respect to you, I won't use the descriptive language I'd like to use regarding two of them) friends. A lot of Taiwanese were "ended up" here, just in different times. It does feel temporary for some of them, that's one of the reasons why the buildings look so bad.
So real! I’m a local people, I don’t even know why Western people choice to live here. Because the weather is so humid and hot, not a friendly physical environment to you guys. However, I love here for easy living compare to conservative society like Japan, Korea. USA or Canada is too big so it’s not convenient in everything, especially the long Winter season, can go no where. Taiwan is so small, crowded, perhaps noisy outside. But, you can enjoy private, peace or anything you like when stay at home. (I do follow YT for most of your friends in Taiwan. This is including the guy in this vedio also the guy from SA when they in China)❤
It is so easy to fall in love with Taiwan but are still two issues: long term low salary/wages and schooling for children. Most foreigners will not stay because of these two and even local tw will leave to make more money or have their children get into western universities if they can afford it.
From Michigan, been in Taiwan for decades. Folks, you want Taipei. The ladies are more beautiful, fashionable, and friendlier, nature is always only a few minutes away like Yang Ming Shan, and you will make so much more money. There are so many openings all the time. Nightlife is wild. Have fun!
For the record, Taiwan isn't really known for being a retirement destination like Thailand. Taiwan is slow walking into a disaster with the low birthrate and lack of a societal safety net. People here used to (still do) rely on their kids as a safety net. It's not uncommon for extended families to live under one roof. However, at present, most Taiwanese aren't getting married and even those that do have one or no kids. The government better start converting schools into low cost retirement villages (my idea...) You meet very few expats in their 70s and 80s in Taiwan...
Canada's economy fell apart. When that happens young people leave. Also Ottawa is pretty boring and it gets so cold in winter. C-Milk's State Department gig is pretty creepy.

The first round of negotiations is expected to begin in the next few weeks. This will help facilitate trade between the two sides, and more foreigners may come to Taiwan in the future. Therefore, you should work harder as a TH-camr so that you can introduce various aspects of Taiwan to more foreigners in the future.
Taiwan is awesome. All the great aspects of a developed place like Japan but people are more laid back and chill like SE Asia.

台灣的市容跟交通雖然有點亂，但在生活上有種難以言喻的舒服，不僅生活方便、悠閒、與穩定，讓我自己有更多餘的時間來思考自己。
理由單純沒問題！ 生活追求的就是舒適跟便利 ！台灣朝自由安全適宜居住的國家型態發展就是最好的特色！

我很喜歡台灣這樣的狀況, 也不希望因為太過突出引起大量移民, 畢竟移民問題在日本韓國還有其他國家已經看太多了
台灣比較像是沒有出色外表火辣身材的女生, 但是有很棒的個性及內涵, 這樣吸引到的反而更可能是真正了解台灣的優點, 並且會付出真心好好珍惜台灣的對象
我從澳洲長住多年搬回台灣，還是覺得台灣方便，治安好、醫療品質好，適合長住。
我覺得台灣的特色就是一種融合的文化，融合了中華、日本、美國文化再加上一點台灣本島的原住民文化。
小小的一個地方生活很便利，1-2個小時就有山有水，北部及宜蘭還可以泡溫泉。出國去世界各國旅行也不會很遠。醫療好又便宜，人民友善環境安全。住起來很安心。
缺點是都市的市容比較沒有規劃、美感，鐵皮屋鐵窗很醜，硬體比較沒有吸引力。交通顯得比較混亂、摩托車比較吵。不過現在新蓋的建築、重劃區也不錯。希望大家重視這些一直被外國人垢弊的問題，讓台灣越來越好。

有些吸引人參訪的國家，他們有比較長的歷史和特別的文化，但這些“固著”已久的文化和生活習慣，不是外人可以很容易理解和習慣的。相對之下，歷史比較短，或是種族比較多元的地區，因為歷史文化建立起的“牆”相對的沒有那麼高聳，所以比較容易進入和生活在其中。

台灣是個多民族融合又包容的地方，台灣不需要什麼特別的特色，那會吸引太多觀光客，台灣人其實就是台灣最大的特色！一般外國人用看的是看不到的，只有來過住過之後才會懂，即使外國人也可以輕鬆自在地生活，全世界這種地方很少。
台灣比較明顯特色的是原住民文化，平地原住民400年來經歷了4次殖民幾乎已經沒有原住民的痕跡了，高山原住民還保留了一些原住民文化。
漢人的閩南、客家文化，要到比較鄉下的地方，可以看到比較明顯與其他國家不同的地方，就像紐約是最不像美國的地方。
