I discovered the Chariot's breakup video at the end of a 20 hour work day. I was completely sleep deprived and already on the verge of a meltdown. The chariot was and still is my favorite band, and I discovered their farewell tour announcement through a mutual friend. I lost my mind. Then I discovered they were playing in Buffalo, New York on my 19th birthday. I made the 5 hour drive with a few friends. I stood front row the entire concert. Josh, himself, wished me a happy birthday. It was the perfect ending for my experience with The Chariot. So, thank you, to The Chariot, The Waiting Room in Buffalo NY, and everyone in that room on October 21st, 2013. You have no idea the impact you had on this complete stranger's life. Long Live.
This is why live entertainment needs to exist. Thank you for this story.
Watching in 2021, all the emotions come flooding back. This band was truly something special.

Yes, rewatching this for the third time this year, and when I came here first, I didn't even listen to The Chariot.

Man, I've watched all of the Chariot videos on here several times. I' was a huge fan of Norma Jean, and when Josh left and started the Chariot I loved the first album and they lost me after that. But I came back to them after they broke up and listened to everything they've done and I can't believe how good it all is. Because they were so good I gave Norma Jean's stuff post-Josh a chance, also very solid stuff, wish I'd seen The Chariot play, I might actually catch Norma Jean next month for their Redeemer 10 year tour.

When Josh Scogin was in a band called Luti-Kriss back in 99/2000, I was there. When he left Norma Jean and the Chariot came forward, I was there. When they played their final show in Douglasville, I was there. This band has meant so much to me and so many people because they said the things that each of us were afraid to say and kept the passion alive in a dying culture. They lifted us up and pushed us to the edge. They implored us all to be better people. To speak with the wrath of grace and love. Because of the Chariot, my closet holds no bones and this film has captured the heart and soul of that which we can only describe as the Chariot. There's no way to put into words what it was like to be there because if you weren't there, you'll never understand. The closest anyone may come in the future is to watch this video and hope to experience anything like it in their short time on this earth. Much love to the folks who put this together. Victory is such a lonely word. Long Live.

I've never cried at something I have watched, and this damn video almost made me. Me and my cousin had taken the road trip to see them in Atlanta, not caring about expenses because we had to see them for the last time.

There may never be a band like The Chariot ever again. They truly defined what it means to write music and perform for an audience. The energy, creativity, and raw emotion they brought to everything they did is something that can't be matched. Long Live that fucking band 🤘

I was fortunate to see the chariot live back in 2006, at a small venue i used to work for. I was also in Rehabilitation with Josh's brother, who i built a friendship during my rehab stint.He recognized my chariot shirt and began talking to me about their youth and Josh's life. I gave him my chariot shirt and we kept in touch for a good while. I wonder if he's still doing well. If you happen to read this dude, i hope you're still sober Michael.
And Josh thank you for your amazing music.
Just as it got to the seven footage, i broke down. This band will forever mean the world to me because they gave me something positive and beautiful to believe in at a time when i was self medicating and surrounding myself with negativity. Every day when i wake up, i glance to my left and see the poster on my wall that stevis and david signed in buffalo around christmas a few years ago and it just makes me smile like an idiot to know that I was apart of something so organic and beautiful.

If you made an extended cut with (if available) more interviews/ raw footage of some of the shows in a DVD format, I'd buy it without thinking twice. you'd have my money.
The Chariot was something I desperately needed in my teenage years. The booking agent in my hometown had these guys in a lot, and it became church for me to go see them play. The energy in those rooms was just unbelievable. Sometimes it was literally less than 50 people, but it felt like we could be heard anywhere in the world. When Josh would come up and say, "This microphone is your microphone, this stage is your stage", it unlocked something in me that was dying to get out. These men were also incredibly kind and happy to share a few words with a young fan like me whenever I got the courage to ask. The Chariot taught me that it's okay to have big questions and big feelings and to let them out. Thank you to all those involved.
As a musician and as a music photographer, this is beautiful on a whole new level. You somehow captured the chaos and relentlessness that is The Chariot while showing their beautiful, serene, and emotional side as well. Not many people could have done this, and I honestly believe you did justice to the legacy of The Chariot. Well done, my friend.

thank you for making me cry for 56 minutes. i honestly mean that. i hadn't taken the time to think about what the chariot meant to me until i watched your film. when they announced the end of the band i sort of just pushed it aside but this made me face my feelings. the biggest thing i take away from the chariot is the concept of being real, staying true. from the bottom of my black, cold dead little heart, thank you sir for making the film that needed to be made. i wish you the best and to all the chariot fans out there, keep your heads up because the stars are still shining for you. It’s 2022 and all emotions keeps coming back when I watch this. I’ll never stop loving this band! The impact they had on how I approach music can’t be described with words. Amazing band!
Fuck dude I just discovered this band and '68 back in December during a pretty intense problem with opiates. This band and a band called Glass Ocean Stuck with me the whole experience, and eventually I got through it all The Chariot and 68 for my anger and my pain, while Glass Ocean were for my times of tranquility and sadness. It was all a very interesting experience. I learned about my self. And I had some interesting music to burn out the distractions and noise around me to get me through it all.
It's sad to find out they broke up but, I'm pretty OK with it. It makes sense. and, they left their creations of sound behind.
All I gotta say is thanks camera guy for this film, Thanks to The Chariot for the art. I hope this post doesn't get buried and you all see this. Thanks Fella's.

I'm... 17 years old; I was too kid to go a show of this band (I live in Argentina and cannot travel out of the country alone, because... you know... too young). I didn't have the experience to see this guys in live and broke every part of my body, but... you must know that in my home, I put "The Chariot", close my eyes... and I imagine the mosh pit, the jumps, all the show... and start to feeling something that Im no feeling with any other band. This feeling, accompanied me all my teenage and will accompany me all my life... Thanks guys. Long Live.
I saw The Chariot when I was in 9th grade in an old, rundown fire station in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm almost 21 now. Those memories of going to shows and being a part of DIY music is something I will try to never forget.

Most genuine/humbling dudes I've met, in Perth, Western Australia we had more than just a show. We went & ate Nandos & then went cliff jumping afterwards, good laughs & good times. Won't forget any of it.
This band was definitely an experience. Stage presence like no other. Plus these guys are actually really cool people, they never let their successes get to their heads. If you search around TH-cam for their tour videos you will find that they are HILARIOUS and kind individuals and had a blast doing something they loved. Long live, long live, hard times come again no more.

My best friend and I came from Washington (near Seattle) to see the final show in Douglasville..... One year later and I still can't believe it's over. One of the best times of my life, thank you for this documentary, it brought me to tears at parts.

This video reminds of all the times I had the privilege of seeing them in their element and how grateful I am for the opportunity to just take it all in and lose my mind for an hour at a time. Best live shows I have ever been apart of and I feel sorry for those who simply don't understand, they have no idea what they missed out on. I have a drumstick on my wall from the chariot and I look at it everyday and much like this video it reminds of some awesome, unforgettable times and they all had the chariot as the soundtrack. I seen this band at the lime spider in Akron Ohio in 2007. Again at Peabody's in Cleveland in 2010. Still regarded as some of the best shows I've ever seen. Long live brothers. Take care.

I'm still in awe. This band changed my life. I'm a professional musician now, after realizing that life should be used to do something that you feel passionately about. This band helped me realize that. What The Chariot did for us is irreplaceable. I had "Calm Rose : Violent Wind" tattooed on my arm. My only tattoo. Thank you guys for all that you have done.

I help run Schoolhouse Venue in Madison Heights, and am absolutely floored that the good folks from The Chariot would even think to include their time at Schoolhouse in their documentary. We were very blessed to have them there, both nights, and still consider that one of our most successful events. Schoolhouse loves you, dudes.
years later and I still get choked up about this... I can't even begin to describe my appreciation for this band, but with that said, seeing Josh write his heart out in '68 does bring a sense of closure.
I have had this on my Watch Later for five or six years now and finally watched it. Holy fuck. Still gave me chills all these years later. I wasn’t able to check out the farewell tour, but seeing them live once within their tenure is a gift. It opened up something inside me, broke in new frames to accept new experiences into. is actually so sad to watch this but at the same time i feel really happy i was able to be part of the last tour... im from Dominican Republic and i remember i asked for my vacations at work just because i needed to see The chariot one last time and my best friend got me tickets as a Bday gift... its funny now how i froze when they played the city since its my favorite song i was just there singing it out fucking loud! AMAZING experience!!!

I didn't find out about the chariot until after they had just finished the last show... I have since bought as much merch, vinyl, banners, stickers, etc. I could find with the Chariot on it.... this band instantly hooked me, but the more I explored the culture, and met the other fans, I am jealous to anyone who had the privilege of experiencing the chariot

So many memories seeing and listening to this band. For a band like this, 10 years is definitely something to be respected. I remember begging my mom to drive me to best buy to by the chariots first album. I grew up with this band, through good times and heart breaking times. Like so many others, I seriously want to cry while watching this knowing I will never see them again. The three times I did though will always be cherished. Thank you for this amazing film. Richard Bos Hey! Most of this was shot on my old camera, the Sony NEX 5R, which is a bit of a hidden gem of a camera. Love that thing. I have a bunch of really great old Nikon primes for it and I shoot them through a metabones speedbooster. Really great glass! Also for the later stuff, most of the interviews, and the slow motion, all of that was shot on my new camera, the Sony FS700. Hope that helps!!! Thanks for watching.

I saw The Chariot on their first tour and remember them being wild and a lot of fun, especially for a destructive, angry teenager like myself at the time. I was never a super fan though, unlike some of my friends, and can honestly say I never really listened to anything after "Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing..." which I loved in high school and still love as an adult. This documentary is fantastic though and makes me want to check out the releases I've missed along the way. This will sound super dumb but my favorite part was seeing Angela Plake stage dive and the short interview clip with her. I'm a huge Bandit fan and that was awesome to see!
The experience that was The Chariot is something that I will never forget. Thank you for letting me relive it again. Long live.
I discovered The Chariot after seeing 68 live and being impressed. Somehow a little part of me is glad I wasn't ready for this kind of music back then, because I would have been devastated. This moves me so much, there's no single bit that is no perfection and is also one of the films that made me want to make documentaries. Long live, one of the best band that ever existed and for sure one that no one will never be able to replicate.
If any of you guys read this, know that The Chariot had an amazing impact on my life. I love you for it and love you for the shows we shared together. There will never be another The Chariot, but I'm at peace with that. Long live.
I remember my first chariotshow in a little civic center with like 40 people. One of most impactful shows I've ever been to thanks for 10 years. Long live the chariot!
I remember the last and only time I've seen The Chariot in 2012 in France, one of the greatest concerts of my life.. I still remember how happy I was when I learned that a The Chariot/Birds in Row tour was planned and how sad I was when I learned that it'll be The Chariot final tour. Still a big inspiration for me, thank you for this documentary, for these images and also thank you The Chariot for being one of the greatest band on earth.

I remember being at Jokers in fayetteville NC when they were touring with GWAR... totally went to see The Chariot only and i remember being front row at the stage and just watching in awe at Josh screaming his heart out at the ensuing chaos
