I purchased the same Sir Fryer Oven two weeks ago to replace my deep fry machine, I cant say that the chips done in this machine are as good as my oil fried ones and they take about 40 minutes to cook, in the deep fat fryer, they used to take six minutes. I don`t really agree that the air fryer is healthier either, if the oil was at a high heat (and it should be) the chips form a seal as they are put in and they do not hold onto the oil. Nonetheless, I am still learning to use this machine, I was hoping the I could use the rotary basket for the chips and put the fish in at the same time but the bottom heating bars stopped me from doing that. I considered buying a Cosori because that has no bars, it is the whole bottom that heats up but that machine does not have the rotisserie function. In the HYSapientia, the rotisserie chicken was terrific, all in all, I am happy with the HYSapientia.
Hi Chris, we find chips will never be like deep fried. We I basket air fryer you can put them in a little lard. We often use our old tefal actifry for chips. Can’t you put chips in your basket with the fish in the tray above the bottom element. Stick with it mate because it’s a good machine and very versatile. 👌👍
@@grahamgetsabout2672If you are using the rotating basket, then the tray will not fit in and allow the basket to turn, the mesh tray will fit in but the heating bars make the metal of the mesh basket go black along the lines of the heating bars. I can put the chips in the mash basket (not the rotating one) and the fish underneath that and it does work but the reason to use the rotating basket is that you don`t need to turn the chips over half way through the cooking time. If the Cosori machine that is similar to this one had a rotisserie fitted, I would have chosen that one because the heating element in the base is not bars but the whole base but I wanted the rotisserie to cook chicken and joints of meat on it. My rotisserie came out really good, so I am not disappointed too much.

Has the wattage ever gone below 900 when you have used the oven, and had the counter plugged in? I thought that the wattage would drop, when it reaches temperature, and people say these things only take 4 minutes to pre heat. To me, it is strange that it kept drawing so much power.
Hi, the hysapientia 24L does use more power than say the cosori 12L. However it is twice the volume. The wattage does drop substantially when it reaches temperature. I don’t keep records but does drop lower than 900 watt. We have used this air fryer for a little time now and had some great results. 👌
