- Gameplay footage of the near final version of DK Remix. This is a REMIXED version of Donkey Kong for arcade. DK Remix adds 6 new stages, 3 bonus stages, with variations in stages when you see them again. It takes a long time before the game actually starts to repeat.
In addition to new levels there are new gameplay mechanics. The new rivets stages have floors that collapse when you pull the rivets, and collapsing floors crush the firefoxes below. Other stages mix up original game elements like adding a spring to a barrel stage that shoots barrels up to the top, hammers on the elevators stage, blue hammers that let you jump while using them and a rivets stage with elevators that reverse direction when a switch is pressed.

My favorite FU in the game is the springboard that sends the barrels back UP to the top of the screen. Nasty!
This is seriously freaking awesome. Even cooler than Jumpman Returns!! I LOVE the mini bonus stages, the new hammer, and especially the floor dropping mechanic. Having the barrels bounce back up with the spring is another highlight.

That rivet stage at 8:35 looks so fun and stressful. Very nice work. I remember Richie showing this off on one of his Arcade Culture twitch streams. This is coming along very nicely. Keep up the awesome work!
Oh god this is the coolest video game mod I’ve ever seen! The falling platforms, the new game features, the new “bonus stage”, the alternate hammer type that lets you jump while carrying it..... I’m surprised the folks at Nintendo didn’t think of all these extra play mechanics first.

I am happy and euphoric because finally those of HBMAME have implemented: original "DONKEY KONG REMIX" with many game screens just like I wanted it years ago and now I find it fun to play together with my twin star of Cristina D'Avena an infinite number of free games on the HBMAME emulator of the new version released on February 21st, on my 48th birthday it was time, Donkey Kong... I meant; the Halloween edition of 'Donkey Kong;' is very rarely seen, and so is the Christmas edition version of 'Donkey Kong!' What you won't find is; the lazy summer vacation edition version of 'Donkey Kong.' I know what just doesn't exist at all.
Much thanks for the effort in making this. It seems to run fine on the Color Computer 3 VCC 2.01 emulator. The funny thing is, a lot the original games and programs for the CoCo seem to crash or lock the emulator up.

I am now really so glad,thankful and excited that,finally,DK Remix Arcade is nowadays in HBMAME,after almost a decade of unavailability for arcade emulators. Now,it's time to do a DK Remix tournament for emulators only (both original and rainbow).

they fixed the 3 barrel jump "scoring error". the original game when jumping 3 barrels, it shows 800 points on the board but only increases 500 points on your score.

I'm hoping they do a Popeye remix next, it badly needs more levels.
What I learned is that; you have to be a VG (video game) engineer, in order to create the lazy summer vacation edition of 'Donkey Kong.' The VG (video game); has to show Pauline, in her one piece swimwear. That's of what's predictable.

Will this ever be made available on MAME?
No, it will not be released at anytime soon and never will be, unfortunately, from what I've heard around. I was told it should *NOT* be released for free on MAME, because Sock Master worked and sacrificed for it very much and wants to be paid for his skill, time and contribution to the Donkey Kong gaming case-scenario. Christmas Remix is *SURPRISINGLY* 100% similar; but the sprites are different to the sprites of the Regular Remix and it is the one and only that is *SURPRISINGLY* released for free on MAME, via Donkey Kong Forum only. And so is Spooky Remix.

there is now a "Christmas Remix" available for MAME which is the same as the final release but has Christmas themed graphics as well as a "Spooky Remix" which is available MAME but it has differences from the arcade version including Halloween graphics as well as Luigi and Guissippi becoming the playable character and other secret

Unfortunately,no,as for the regular version.The creator opted it for DK Real Hardware only and refused to create DK Remix (regular version) roms for MAME or for any arcade emulators because the creator sacrificed for his work so much and *STILL* wants to be paid for his time, skills and dedication to the DK Gaming case-scenario (same cases-scenarios with both DK Deranged and DKJRRemix). Unlike both Spooky and Christmas Remixes that are available on MAME or on any arcade emulator already.
DONKEY KONG REMIX is mod of DONKEY KONG 2 but is more hard.
I just heard of this game recently, is it fan made, or what's the history behind it?
Years ago, I wrote a version of Donkey Kong for the Tandy Color Computer 3. A few years later I revisited the project with the idea of remixing it with new stages, new ideas and game mechanics. After that I thought - gee, wouldn't it be neat to port this game back to the original arcade hardware and did just that - while also expanding the game with a few more ideas and stages and that became the arcade version of Donkey Kong Remix.

Not anytime soon,as for the regular remix. But you can download both Christmas and Spooky Remixes from HBMAME v0.205 and on,anyway. The author of this game wants to be paid/compensated for his sacrifice,work,skills,time and contribution for the Donkey Kong Gaming case-scenario first.Sorry for the inconvenience

Looks like hard as shit,if i will find the rom, i could play it on emulator but i rather use save stated to get in progress,but as if now,i don't get save states to work,i alway's get an error massage.

Unfortunately,the complete game will not be available for the official MAME as of yet nor at anytime soon. Although HomebrewMAME has a demo version of 2 stages, you can play the original remixed version via disks(DKRemix.dsk) on MESS(via Coco3) also.
What did these 2 soldiers from 'Halo' first do? They first plundered Mario; just right long before they got rid of Donkey Kong, and rescued Pauline. Now keep in mind that; I saw this, in a 'Robot Chicken' episode.
