Good advice Sorin, brings back memories to me of working with a really cheap Power Supply which in my wisdom I shorted resulting in a loud bang and a big flash, i thought i'd blinded myself, could see shadows for days, great memories haa, haa
I have exactly the same PSU. Im very happy becose when i buy it was a sacrifice (Very expensive here) but it paid itself in a month, i think, and still help me in 90% of the jobs
hi sorin why when i put voltage injection my power supply and amps go up and down all the time not take amp but show that board is short in protection mode
Thank you again Sorin. I'm in a process of building electronic lab again after 10 years out of the electronic repair. Now with the SMD we need to invest money. The biggest is the microscop. Can you please make a short review on your microscope? Thx
I bought a linear psu 30V 5A a month ago based on your recommendation after watching about my tools video the only complaint i I have is the noisy 24V fan spinning all the time but i am not gonna cut the cable like you did lol
What are you doing here Darren? I'm a fan of yours. Where do you go when you want find the best low-end multimeter? You watch Darren Walker videos. It's that simple. I like your videos, especially because you're the only one who is dedicated to review affordable multimeters.
Sorin, my spool of solder recently went AWOL, and i had an urgent repair to do on a power jack, I used Solder paste and while i had to reapply a few times to get the right amount the job worked out really well, shiniest joints i;ve seen in a long time, lol, the finished job was really strong and as would be expected with paste it flowed really well, my question is, is there a down side to using paste as opposed to normal solder and is the joint likely to last as long? not that i'm considering changing but would just like to know out of curiousity, tanx.......the missing Solder turned up about 2 days later :)
I love when it comes to power supply. oh how I wish i could buy one soon. maybe i'll get the same one like yours. But it cost 5 times more than uk price here in Malaysia.. it's expensive
I do have multimeter and rework station.. onlye left is microscope/magnifying glass and dc power supply.. money money money.. hehehe. Ya will try and find 2nd hand. Thanks sorin..
I have been watching your videos and it helps me alot, really appreciate that..can you please explain how to identify the GMCH?PCH/ICH/GRAPHIC IC faulty or tose IC is working or not, and another question is for what purpose you mainly use the CRO machine, and in which cases you mostly needed ? thanks in advance :-)
Thank you for the information provided in this video and all videos I would buy one 10 amps and I would pay double the price of 5 amps at the end of the week Thank you very much
Wow, that is a cheap power supply. I have a 0-30V 0-5A one like that but it is made by Yihua. It acted up once, found that the IC sockets were severely corroded (yet nothing else was corroded!!!!). Replaced the chips without the sockets and it has worked fine. It also has three output transistors instead of one. These cheap power supplies are known for output transients though, so be warned!!!
Yes, but how to find the security (against short cut) resistor to short it as described in this vidéo th-cam.com/video/kGsg3DBJDec/w-d-xo.html ? Without this mod it is impossible to locate the bad caps in case of short on main power rail, per example. PS : Sorin, we love you :D
