  • This is a killer little regular cab short box 2wd raner we are running at a no reserve that ends on tuesday december 10th at 7:00pst on ebay. This truck is 100% un-touched original with great looking original paint that has just a touch of great looking patina and incredible interior. We bought this with plans of a slight suspension drop, a set of staggered us mag u109 wheels and had plans to shove a stout small block between the fenders backed by a nice c6 or aod trans to make this just a killer little one of a kind hot rod truck . Plans have shifted where we are looking to move locations in summer of 2020 and looking to slim down some of the move process with selling of some of the projects we wont get to by summer, so now we are just looking to find this little ranger a good new home and look forward to see what the new owner does with it in it's new life.

Reminds me of my rig! Mines silver though and it is a custom so it has a sliding rear window, and the external tie downs

I just happened to come across this video today. I’m the guy that bought this Ranger on ebay! I still love it, but sadly the 2.3 engine let go. When comparing the cost of rebuilding the 2.3, I had a 302 ready to go in the garage. Should be finished in the next month or two.

I remember when these came out back when I was a young lad, I thought they were too small because my late Dad only bought full size trucks and was use to that. Currently, I'm driving a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge shortbed and love it. Ford Rangers are tough trucks and can last a long time.

same - except my dad had small pickups. One of his brothers (a dairy farmer) would get the cheapest ranger he could find and work it to death. Drove dad's ranger (begged it off of him in the early 1990s when he was going to trade it in) until 2000. Good trucks (that one was 2.9v6. Nothing for power compared to current trucks, but decent mileage and never needed any work).
seeing the headlights on this one reminds me of finding as a kid that you had to buy the whole sealed beam unit instead of a bulb. It was cheaper than some bulbs are now, though.

2.3 is not a bad engine if you take good care of them oil changes coolant flushes thermostat don't let them over heat if you over heat them then that is when you have problems then they blow head gaskets if there is trouble with the cooling system fix it right away don't let it get hot. 300 straight 6 and 351 windsors can take more punishment newer rangers engine take more punishment. 2.3 is good if taken care of religously.

Wow I never knew that they had a floor shifter for the automatic on the rangers. I wish my 2002 4L had that. What year did they stop offering a automatic floor shifter?

Nice. Back in the day when a "small" pick up was just that....Small. I live in Germany where a trailer is more common then a P'up and for myself (retired Army) something like this would actually fit in my garage, with no special license endorsement. "Small" today doesn't mean what it did years ago.

Wow, I am super impressed with how well this truck was cared for. The interior looks brand new! I hope whoever got it continues caring for it like the previous owner did!

My 87 is in better shape then this one. My dad special ordered it from Ford back in 86. Mine has the 2.9 with a manual 5 speed.
