Half right. Anvil clouds cant produce hail but large hail can be blown in front of the storm and also from the main upwind through the anvil cloud within strong upper wind flow. So it seems like hail fall direct out of the anvil cloud.
That’s a typical summer day in SoCals inland desert cities. One moment it’s sunny 110 heat dry as literal hell the next it’s pouring and in less than 10 minutes it’s flooded and mud flows everywhere.
Anvil clouds don't produce any rain or hail up to the ground. The rain and hail can be blown infront of the storm, but the anvil doesn't producere anything, except some positive lightning strikes...
It pained me to see the nice 1956 Buick convertible getting peppered by hail. I hope it wasn't damaged, considering the flooding that was shown after that shot when the storm got worse.
wow, this reminds me of a trip to miami a few years back. we drove to key west not knowing tropical storm andre was on it's way. we headed back to miami on the bridges and couldn't see crap because it was raining so hard. we get back to miami beach and there was flooding. the water was over the tires. a tornado touched down in hollywood/ft. lauderdale somwhere, it was a mess. it floods like that beacuse there is no where for the water to go, it's flat and the drains can't keep up. memories!
Juan CDemon Actually, a severe thunderstorm can in fact cause that much flooding. I have seen it myself. Last year, I was in a severe thunderstorm that had a wet microburst, which dropped 14 inches of rain in an hour. Look up Lacey, Washington Microburst. That's the storm I was in.
holy crap! i had no idea it flooded THAT bad over there? remind me never to get caught over on SoBe/Miami beach during a storm like that...or any storm for that matter!
Seriously when I went there one summer, it was loud frequent lightning, loud thunder, hail, small flood and howling wind every afternoon. How do you people put up with that shit?
I'm from Miami and that's a normal summer afternoon in south Florida.
This is a thunderstorm all Miamians will remember for a very long time
Excellent footage!!! Thanks for sharing!

When does the Hurricane or Rainy Season start in Miami?
I want to know cuz i moved Here to Miami like 3 months ago,and i was interested in knowing.=)
Strong Thunderstorms in Miami, and Miami Beach and Key Biscanye. There was also golfball size hail with it and strong winds and flooding rains.
what camera are you using?
this happened in the afternoon and there was a tornado warning right.
@scheffy25 There may be no electrical charges.
That is my dream of living in Miami!

How do you not know of a tropical storm coming? Do you not watch the weather?
Tropical storm Andre?
What were the sirens? They start at 1:02 and end at 1:20.
Fire truck
Even though I've never been to Miami, Florida, I was 7 years old when this storm happened.
My corvette got almost half way under water that afternoon in Washington Ave...
Marco+ you meant the hurricane was in this video because a tornado would not do that much flooding but a hurricane can do that much flooding
