I’m so happy that I found a new dermatologist talking about skin care on TH-cam because there are a lot of useless people out there who are just influencers and have no chemistry or medical knowledge and thank you very much for pointing out that niacinamide can cause contact dermatitis because it seems that I am severely allergic to it. When I first started skin care, I bought The Ordinary's niacinamide and HA serums and even if the amount of niacinamide I used was very small, the burning sensation and redness on my face did not go away after many hours. HA, on the other hand, dried my skin more, so I stayed away from it during the winter, then I learned that it was totally my fault because I didn’t apply a nice thick moisturizer afterwards 😅
Ordinary paying that lady to push that cheap water. Then it turns to muddy water. It’s no good and you can look at her face and tell she is wearing top of the line cosmetics.
DOCTORLY on TH-cam is FANTASTIC too!!!!! I rely heavily on both of these two channels. They’re amazing. They’ve helped me heal, and continue to heal my skin, and for that I’ll always be grateful.
I only found you about a month ago but I really enjoy your videos. Not only do you tell us which products are good but we get an anatomy lesson too. I am 76 so can use all the help I can get. Thank you for being out there.
Im so happy to found Dr. Sugai. As an Asian here in US is hard to find a doctor who understands my skin problem. I did all the brands Dr. Sugai recommends and it helps me right away. Thank you so much.
Omgosh, I'm actually a patient of yours and it's so cool to see you on here giving skincare advice. I do need to see you again for that stubborn mole, and now I'll see you about skincare.
I LOVE THE LA ROCHE POSAY ONE ❤ Literally made my skin look glass like & healthy ❤ Got a free sample & deff purchasing. I have dry skin & it made me look dewy & nice
The LRP is good for dry and on treatment skin more than for oily and on daytime use as the texture is just too thick and sticky, and it takes time for my skin to absorb. Also, it has alcohol which can cause irritation for some sensitive skins and not good for long time use.
Dr Sugai will you pls explain why LaRoche Posay HYALU B5 is a favorite of yours when it has denatured alcohol as the third ingredient... I thought denat alcohol was bad for the skin because it is so drying
Hi doc . . . I personally think the *Marine Hyaluronic* by the Ordinary is stellar. Even more so than the HA. It does not pill either when one puts foundation/makeup over such. Tx for constant great data.
The Ordinary has another Retinoid. It's Granactive Retinoid 2% Emuision. It's not oily like the other one. I am on my first bottle and plan on getting more!
Hi the video was very informative. I have just purchased all Three serums. Can you tell me which La Roche Posey Day & Night moisturiser you would use for a mature lady please.. many thanks …
Thank you, Dr. Sugai, for your time and effort on serums and everything else. Your information is very valuable and I learn a lot from you. I can honestly say that I trust your recommendations and judgements. Again, Thank you very much!
I've had rosacea for years now. I used Mirvaso for a few years until I had to switch insurance and they unfortunately didn't cover Mirvaso. So my dermatologist prescribed me Brimonidine 0.2% eye drops. Been working great for my rosacea cheeks and so much CHEAPER! Do you ever prescribe that for your patients with rosacea? Is it okay to use Brimonidine on the skin long term??
Also, is it ok to put hyaluronic acid on before vitamin C the morning? Before retinol at night? I appreciate you answering my questions. Sincerely, Nicole.
The Vitamin C serum should always go on first. I, personally, don't like using HA serum in the morning BECAUSE you are supposed to apply HA to damp skin immediately after cleansing, and then immediately seal it in with a moisturizer. If you don't seal it in with a moisturizer right away, you won't get the "hydrating" benefits of the hyaluronic acid serum. Instead of adding moisture to your skin, it will pull moisture from your skin. That's why the moisturizer is so important! You have to decide if HA will fit into your routine. At night I do use an HA serum, applying it after cleansing and then moisturizer. I wait for it to "soak in," and then I apply my Retin-A over top. This is what works best for me. There's no harm applying an HA serum before Retin-A if you want to. Just make sure you are applying the HA serum correctly.......with a moisturizer! I hope this helps!!
Have you ever reviewed or spoke about “Exuviance” Super Retinol concentrate? It’s 80 bucks a pop & a lady sold me on it bc I thought she was in her late 30s- 40s come to find out shes in her 60s & that’s literally all she uses with their serum (I returned the serum I didn’t like it) but curious to know what your thoughts are on if it’s truly worth the price Edit she didn’t literally “sell me” on it lol she actually never even showed it to me she was helping me look at another brand & only after I found out her age I was like I WANT WHAT YOU USE 😂
Speaking of HA products, have you tried the isntree Hyaluronic Acid Water Essence which touts having eight types of HA? Of course, not everyone likes HA for their skin but it like niacinamide is found in so many skincare products nowadays, do we really need a separate serum? It would be nice to hear about other humectants like the ones you've mentioned and some like propylene glycol, sorbitol, sodium pca, allantoin, urea or polyglutamic acid. I know iUnik has a beta glucan serum and lrp, pca, neostrata, inkey list, exuviance and cosrx have PHA products. One day could you discuss HA injections which some have said are more effective/long lasting than topicals?
Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission. Is the HA from La Roche Posay high & low molecular? Thank you. 👍👍👍✝️🙏🕯🕯🕯🕯
quite a long shot, but: I use hyaluronic acid in combination with other stuff, to prevent DHT from forming on my scalp - I have been using the OZ Naturals serum for the longest time, since it was the first effective one out of the bunch that I tried (out of cca. 5).. but since tax regulation got stupid in the EU and they only have one shop, that is located in the US, I need a new serum - would you have any recommendations for a serum that mixes really well with fatty substances (cca 95% fatt ), absorbs really well and doesn't break the bank? :)
Aloha Doc, thank you again for wonderful tips so we can maximize our results! Cleanse, serum, moisturize 👌🏽! Mahalo and congrats to 80,000 plus! I am one of the first!😂🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙👏

Hi Dr Sugai!! I’m so glad I found your channel by searching for great anti aging products that I can trust!! Saw a lot of good TH-camrs but for some reason I trust you! I’ll try the ones you endorsed! Thank you for your honesty!! God bless you!! In addition, I’m learning so much from your videos about retinol. Saw the products in stores but never buy them. A new fan!!❤
Prototype 37C is number one serum in whole world. I used it so many years. But after COVID it discontinued. I think this business didn’t advertise really good. I’ve never seen anything works so good
Does the supplement {found with vitamins} with the same name help internally for skin? Thanks Daniel. I have been loving your channel since day one. Congratulations on 80 k viewers. You are educational and enjoyable to watch. Thanks in advance.
Hey I checked out your recommendations on your Amazon page but I don’t see you recommending the La Roche Posay B5 HA serum on there? Is it STILL your go to HA serum? Or is there an issue you found with it?
Please can you give your opinion on Cos De Baha Hyaluronic acid serum. Also, Cos De Baha vitamin c, and Cos De Baha retinol. AND can you combine all 3?? As in a drop of each? I know theyre cheaper. But can you please give your opinion on their ingredients. And also, regardless if theyre cheap, arent they better than nothing? Thank you for your honesty!!!! Oh! One last thing, i have to work in a pool with chlorine. 25 hours per week. What do you suggest is the best protection. Thanks
Congratulations on 80k subs!! Well done! I love the Kiehl's cream! I started using the Drmtlgy needle-less serum 3 days ago and so far, it's good. Thanks for reviewing and for the great recommendations! 👍🏼🙏🏽
Please help! I use tretinoin 2-3 times a week. After using it for a year, I see a difference, but my skin is always looking dry. I do use a moisturizer every day. At night, I do opt for a cream, Cera Ve. I do have sensitive skin and don't use products with fragrance. Which HA should I choose of all the ones you spoke about? Finally, can HA be used at the same time as tretinoin? Thanks.
Can you help reduce confusion for me I need a great anti aging skin care system for a 65 year old I used Rodman and fields but a bit spendy I have been listening to you channel but still confused about what to use to cleanse and moisturize i current use retinal 24 cleanser and moisturizer
You briefly mention a product that is a K beauty essence like product, but never gave a name to it and it's not in the list, or if it is, I can't telll which one it is. Also, the Peach & Glow might produce a glassy plok after it's applied, but since it's critical to apply moisturizer after applying HLA, is that glassy look stil apparent after this?
My daughter uses hyaluronic acid during the day and she also uses salicylic acid and vitamin c in the mornings. So when should she use the hyaluronic acid along with the other actives?
I just watched this video and while reading the comments I came across yours. I had the same question when I started using HA serum by The Ordinary. Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient that doesn't react with Vitamin C or other actives. Thats why you can pair it with literally anything. It just gives an extra boost of hydration. I pair mine with vitamin C in the morning and wear sunscreen. Don't worry about HA serum, it's harmless when combined with other products! I hope this helps. (oh, I also use in my night routine and it works so well for my dry skin).
Help - what order does this go in - in terms of a routine. My routine includes the Olay Regenerist 24 Retinol, a Hylauranic Acid, a moiteuriser, and occasionally a face oil. Can you help with the order of a nightime routine?

True confession: I’m 54 and I’ve never used hyaluronic acid for my skin care. Just bought the L’Oréal one today.. glad you approve of it, Doc!

Quick Question: When do you put the hyaluronic acid on? Before or after your moisturizer?
AFAIK, after cleansing and exfoliating, toner, whatever, you put the HA serum, let it absorb, and then put moisturizing cream.
Before your moisturiser and after cleansing.
