Great video! Do you have one of working on the cooling system? I have a 225 that i cant get to "pee". Trying to figure out how to access cooling line at the view port.
hi, thanks for the video, very helpful, after i did this i have one side (the right side looking from behind) which it getting hot while run the motor (real hot) and the other side is hot but i still can touch it with my hand, after i shut it down (under water cooling) the right keep hot for a long time and the other getting cold very quickly, do you have any recommendations?
hey brother i changed my oil on my honda bf225 and i noticed that before the oil came out a lot of water came out first then the old came out looking like coffee ..... any advice ?
last month i just brought my self my first 4stroke and it's a 2016 honda 225 and i don't know much of the history of it so im just doing a complete survives on it and I've just replace my water pump and thermostats and flush the engine , i have very good water pressure from my house and what i notice is my motor dose not fill with water on the flush port or the muffs on idol i can see it peeing both ways when flushing but the block is not filling the water to the top of the engine and i can see that my motor is peeing batter than your motor on this video and your other video of your new water pump.. there is a Allen key stud on the starboard side just under thermostat housing that you can undo to inspect to see if water is filling up to the top of the block when flushing on the flush port or the muff im wondering if you or anyone reading my comment has checked to see is their Honda v6 motor is fully flushing .….. if your Honda motor over heat alarm comes on when flushing on the muff you may have the same problem as me and if anyone has any ideas how to fix this issue. Also my water pressure regulator's ( poppet valves ) are in good working order that was the first thing i check and replaced before the pump and thermostats
I just replaced the thermostats on mine. The thermostat #1 (port side) was still good and the oring i can take it out easy. The thermostat #2 still good but the oring can’t take it out, seems like it almost melt to the housing. The nuts are so rusty and really hard to take it out. Do you think this side get overheated? Or maybe it never got replaced:) Anyway, I noticed there are some kind of glue around it, do anyone know what glue they use? I just put marine grease around the oring then installed it.
I’m the second owner of this engine (this is my second season with it) and according to the original owner he flushed after every use and I have followed suit
You do know that you have a flush out port in that motor same motor I have it’s on your right hand side in the bottom you will see it screws off and you attach your water holes
Thanks for posting this video. I need to swap the stats on my 225 so this is definitely helpful.
Thank you. I’ve been looking for a video like this for a while.
Glad I could help
Wow it looks like they never flush that engine once that needs a good Acid flush
Thanks for the video. I have the same engine. One day i need to replace the thermostat.

Nice video. Learned a lot 👍🏻 thank you. Might suggest you “slow down” your filming (seemed a bit rushed) but maybe it’s just me 🤷
Great video. Is this the same procedure for a 2001 Honda 200hp ? Looks exactly like my motor. Thanks
It should be very similar!

I leave in Naples FL, can you recommend a Honda technician that can check the engine?

I have to ask, do you flush this engine after each use ?

Correct. I use it every time I use the boat
