Thanks for the applause! I remember being in Mexico once and asked for “Agua sin helado”. Got the strangest look. Thought about it for a second and then corrected. “ no no, sin hielo”. Yeah, senior brain fart!
Jeje! I taught high school Spanish for years and I never taught "poner" in the preterite tense because of "puse" I just skipped it 😁 Now I teach college and the maturity level has improved--now I can teach it. Also, "pupitre". My high schoolers: "poopy tray". Sheesh. Are there English words that sound nasty if they're pronounced as Spanish? I can't think of any...
I don't know about spanish, but having to teach "payday" to a bunch of Portuguese speaking 11 years old (Brazilians) is cruel. It sounds exactly like "I farted" in Portuguese... 😂
Julie Elias Kovacic I’m Colombian and when I was learning English as a kid, we used to make fun of each other by asking to spell this out loud in English (you get the joke when you do it): 2 T N S L P P T S O It ends ups sounding as if you were saying “you have a stiff penis” in Spanish. It’s not a word but i guess it’s sort of the same
Gosh, you and Kris make such a funny team lol. Btw it feels so refreshing listening to someone with a Venezuelan accent online, esp. because I basically only watch content in other languages.
Jajajajajajaja! "A mucha gente le gustó cuando llamé mamagüebo a ese mamagüebo" XD and Chris saying it again just fucking killed me! You're awesome, lady. Just waiting to see the next vid.
Oh my God, I just met your channel a few days ago and I so fucking addicted. Love u Jonna you're a brilhant comediant (not sure about that word), I'm Brazilian by the way.
Your Venezuelan accent and your mamawebos are still spot on! The true legacy of our land. Even when Edgar Ramirez says it I'm like you tell him Edgar that he is a rolo de mamawebo! XD Humor is probably our legacy and our cuisine. Love your vids
I mixed up manutención and mantenimiento at work because the word in Portuguese for maintenance is manutenção...needless to say I referenced a lot of child support in 2011
Hi Joana, I'm a Chilean who totally understand your "opinion" about Chile, maybe is because I lived 4 years in Panama, have a Chinese wife and I've worked my entire career for American companies. I opened my eyes to see that we are sooooo weird!!! We chileans need to go out more, we are like the nerd kid that is alway at home and live with her mother until 40.
"Seems like you have a lot to unpack with your therapist" lmao aaaah love your videos can't get enough!!!!! This is kind of random but do you dress up or celebrate Purim???? I meant when you were growing up.
(In British accent) TO conjugate something is to put it into a particular verb tense, for example 'son, eres, es' are conjugations of ser. A conjugate is any one of those conjugated verbs. So eres is a conjugate of ser. Neither of these is to be confused with conjugal (nor cognate, which is a word that sounds like another word).
If you were mexican, you would know that thats not quite true... They would call him imbécil, or animal or something worse... (I dont curse anymore so...)
I have worked as an inspector on construction jobs w/ Mexican crews that move from job to job. One time I had to cross behind a man who was driving stakes into the ground for some concrete forms. Since I didn't know his name, and I wanted him to know I was there, I said "Perdoneme, Señor Martillo.." After that whenever I ran into that crew on other jobs they would all laugh (good naturedly) and say..."Ahhhh Señor Martillo !!"
I had anxiety for like half the video because her coffee was on her arm rest and knowing how clumsy Joanna is I felt like she was going to knock it down
My mom will constantly confuse Beagles and Bagels all the time “she will say I love eating Beagles” even though my sister and I correct her all the time. We are like “You mean Bagel mom”
Me encantan tus videos! Pero, por favor, usa menos groserías, so I can use them more often!
6:14 I think about this every single day of my life. My friend got pregnant with TWINS, I MEAN 2 KIDS! and I was acring like she was a teen mom who just ruined her life. To me that's what it would mean for sure but the tricky thing is if you are 27+ years you would have to own up to that shit. Scaryyy
I really want to see that video Chris made for Joanna's birthday. Also Joanna, when are we going to see miss intervention videos like the ones from FLAMA? I think the USA needs an intervention :-):-):-):-)
The name mamá/madre/mother/mom etc. and most of its iterations in all other languages is believe to be inspired by the sound a baby makes while breastfeeding. This is also where we get words like mammal and mammary. Thus, throughout most languages the name of the female parent is the same/similar but the name of the male parent varies.
I loooove that you pronounced my name correctly. Not that you wouldn’t but it’s so refreshing to hear Bonet and not “Bone-ay” .. also I’m totally fangirling right now
Same thing happens to me. I’m 31 and I look like 22.
Hahaha, you are hilarious!!! I love your videos. You should make one in a Dominican accent!! The whole time! Or about how much you love us because we all know you do!! 😁😁
Goddamn I love your accent when you speak spanish. Also, I love the word "mamar" because it reminds me of being an obnoxious kid and stressing my mom out to the point of her telling me "ay, mija, usted si esta bien mamona".
I just don't think that ladder deserves the spotlight, is that too OCD of me to say? "It seems like you have a lot to unpack with your therapist" jajajaja Great line Joanna!
that Last line in the video is so like Rachel of Friends!!!!!.... recién me vengo a dar cuenta que puedo escribirte en español y lo entenderás igual. XD. Besos.
Dominican here!!! That "mama huevo," when you say it sounds like a compliment and like I've wrote it: two words. Here in DR it is only one word and with a "g" instead of an "h." I love your videos, so much different accents and puns and lots of fun. Please do say "mama huevo" as just one word and put the letter g instead of the h. It'll be a lot more easy and funny.
Me reí demasiado.

Strangely enough you're not technically wrong, because helado is often used to mean "Iced"
(adjetive)helado = frozen(we use it more to say something is cold than frozen)
(noun)helado = Icecream
You're the best Alexis Mayo
I love hearing her swearing in spanish. I'm from Spain and the way she swears with her accent makes it great!

My dad's #1 false cognate in English is "presting attention" instead of "paying attention". From Spanish "prestar atención". 😅
Presting... Sounds like a distinguished and prestigious name. "Presting ¡atención!"
I made it into this video twice. Highlight of 2018 😁. And as always, love your videos.
I also noticed it was twice. I think they missed that.
2018 will seriously not get any better for you, jk luv you!

“It seems like you have a lot to unpack with your therapist” - Joanna Hausmann
Gosh, you and Kris make such a funny team lol. Btw it feels so refreshing listening to someone with a Venezuelan accent online, esp. because I basically only watch content in other languages.
Date ahi. Besos, una maracucha desde Barcelona España
I just love how much you guys enjoy making these videos!
Consistently the best videos.
Consistently the best friend

My husband is Colombian and I've been sharing his hilarious "Andresisms" for years. Glad to know you have Anaisms and I'm not alone!
Freaking love you two.. Your banter is hilarious! Thanks for dropping such fun videos. :)

If you went to a ranch full of Mexicans and said "I want to ride an onion", your nickname forever would be cebolla 😄

Who else has rewatched all of her videos?♥️♥️♥️♥️
That mirror where we could see Kris was great. You should put it back where it was.
"Puse" in the second person plural is even more fun! "You can go but the pusistéis!"
