Hi Suzanne, so nice that you are enjoying the slower pace of winter living.
I have been using this indoor time honing my sewing skills.
I made a cotton robe for Spring/Summer and also a summer dress, both out of floral fabrics. I did a bit more hand sewing for practice as I have some gorgeous silk I want to make a blouse out of and am hoping for a successful result!! I also want to get back into embroidery this year.
About making "mistakes", I "heard" my sewing teacher from High School (50+ years ago) words as I put in the robe's zipper, she clearly told me to redo it! I tried to ignore her but alas, this morning I fixed the zipper!!

Hi Leslie! So glad to hear you are working on your sewing skills too! I’ve done a lot less sewing than last year, but it feels so good to get out the sewing machine. Hand sewing is an excellent skill as well. I feel for you with the zipper 😅. That is the nice thing about working at a skill. It can be so frustrating, but over time you make less and less mistakes!
I feel like making this apron was a big step for me, as I didn’t use a pattern. I just figured it out as I went.
      Enjoy your sewing! ❤️

Hi Suzanne! I think your loaves look perfect. Thank you for showing the process in making them. I'm familiar with the Dutch oven method of baking, but I've never made sourdough. Also, I'd love to learn about growing microgreens. Thank you for offering to do a video on it. Now, I would like to make some pickled red onions; yours look so good. 😊

The pickled red onions are so good! You can put them on everything.
Sourdough is really easy once you get the hang of it. It just takes longer, which actually makes it easier to fit into your routine.
More on the microgreens to come!! 😊

The weather here in Nebraska is starting to warm up. Next week there's a possibility it made reach 50F (10C). We are definitely having some bipolar weather this year. Having the 10 inches of snow on the ground makes for really sloppy greasy ground when it warms up. I'm not concerned because it will turn back to cold weather again before Winter is over. March is our usual month for ground thaw. Right now it frozen to a depth of 4 inches.
I have pressed into the winter projects which are mostly house cleaning. I don't wait until Spring because that's the busiest time for gardeners. Some of my early seeds have been ordered and I'm contemplating what to grow for the warmer plants. Of course tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers are always on the list. The onion and cabbage seeds are the first to start in my seed starting area. That's usually around Valentine's day but I might start them a bit earlier if I get the seed starting area set up.
It's always good to purchase local if it's possible. We have many farmers markets and roadside stands during the summer months that sell all kinds of produce.
I have a friend that supplies me with sour dough bread from time to time. It's always a tasty treat.
Have a great day with inside winter chores.

      Hi Dave!
We are also getting a big change of weather! All the snow is going to melt. It seems we are getting similar weather.
I am also thinking about house cleaning right now. You are absolutely right! Gardeners don’t have time for that in the spring. I feel like if it gets done now, then I can really focus on the outdoors when the time comes. I love that rhythm.
My husband just put in a large seed order for the upcoming season. I have yet to pick out the seeds for my garden. I don’t feel too much of a rush. I can just go to the local garden center. They have a good selection. Not sure I will order from baker creek this year. I still have a big stash of seeds to choose from. Always an exciting time of year!
      Happy house cleaning! ❤️

@@thefarmerswifecanada Just found your channel today and love the fact that you live in Canada also. I would like to see more of any sewing projects that you are willing to share as you sew them. I am just learning to do more hand sewing as well as just beginning to machine sew. You've done a great job on your skirts and the apron you wore today. Looking forward to even more of your videos.

Seems like it was only a couple weeks since you were weeding and picking greens outside!
I would like to learn about micro greens.
