Jason Genova is on juice and look at what he has accomplished. Actor, Personal Trainer, AC Mechanic, Amateur MMA Athlete, and Top Chef.Has impressive bodybuilding genetics. Can bench press 1200 pounds, squat 2000 pounds, and dead lift a elephant with ease. All this of course before his 6 car accidents, 12 plane crashes, 7 UFO probes, 5 Titanic sinks, 13 ebola cases, and 4 Skydiving accidents with no parachutes. He also has slight SLIGHT autism, maybe 1% with ADD, OCD, NWA, ACDC, TNT, TLC, DMX and Run DMC.

I have had friends who've taken steroids for like vanity and it kind of stops you from making any progress. You take it, be big for like 2-3 months, come off, get small again. Get tired of making no gains natty, go back on, get to about as big as you were before and come off again. That way you are never really making any progress because you just get discouraged when training natural after. It also makes it hard to tell what is actual working and what isn't in terms of training because you'll get bigger and stronger doing just about any garbage routine on the sauce then be convinced you know what you're talking about.
I on the other hand have been making slow, steady progress and have only looked better and better through the years.

I bounced at bars for 10 years as a "skinny Natty" training MMA (various combat sports at different points),
Almost EVERY bouncer, and almost EVERY bro we kicked out, was on roids. Almost no one knew how to actually fight.
And these bouncers would lose 20, 30 pounds on a two week vacation. They would get depressed, do a bunch of blow and viagara, drink a ton, get back on cycle and have to straighten out. I can't imagine letting my emotional well-being be controlled by chemical dependency.
But on other side, everyone tests the skinny bouncer 😉

    • @stephen8996

I was going to object your last sentence until I saw you beat me to it!
Being in NYC, and used to bartend there, there are *tons* of all kinds of bars and it's interesting what you see. In Jersey you often see bars employing local wrestler kids, who would be by far the best at actually handling a physical confrontation but are (quite correctly) rarely used in NYC. Looking so impressive they don't even think about acting up in the first place is the ultimate goal; and a young-looking jacked manlet often fails to gain that effect and can even provoke idiots to test whether they can take the shorty! In NYC you try to get the biggest NFL lineman looking motherfuckers you can afford. The funniest are gay bars, which can get creative with bouncers because gay dudes do not really get seriously rowdy; I bartended at one place that had a huge-ass lesbian as head bouncer and also at NYC's most popular gay club that had a bunch of short handsome Puerto Rican kids mean mugging in wifebees chains and fitted caps!

I've not been in the gym in about four years (I'm 25). I'm a big dude and naturally strong, never touched a drug. I work for Asda as a delivery driver and I'll pick up to 6 boxes of shopping which is maximum 100kg, awkward to lift because it's like 6ft tall or so. Most people I deliver to are shocked when I pick up three let alone six. So you can see that to normal people someone who isn't close to their natural limit is wildly impressive. There was a time delivering to students when I carried six boxes in and the two guys that came down to get it could carry it between them, so if you're a natural dude who's commited to going the gym and has the right mindset; you're impressive as heck my dude.

I agree with your points, Eric....
    BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT......
...the way I look at it, there is a time to juice, but only if juicing is what someone wants to do. If a dude or dudette wants to go down the road of juice because they want to go down the road of untested competitive bodybuilding, I'd say they should go for it, but only if they understand the risks, care involved, what they'll gain and what they can potentially lose (knee/heart health etc).
As for me (I'm just one dude of many with differing opinions), I don't juice because I have to take thyroid hormone every day and I don't want to fuck it up. However if I didn't have the cancer, I would have done steroids in my mid twenties after researching the risks involved and knowing what I was getting into and also accepting the accountability prior to needing hind sight that if I fucked it up - and myself in the process - then it would all completely be on me.
The difference though with me and the people in my camp versus folks who'd juice and lie about it, is that I'd be completely open and honest because all through life, everyone's going to disagree and disapprove with you about everything, so knowing that I'd actually be like "Yeah, you're right, I am taking steroids. I don't know how anyone could get this jacked without them. Is there a reason you can give me that I shouldn't take them?".
But that would be me in another life. To be honest, your advice is solid and it puts into words what I wish I could tell other gals and pals. I'm happily 44, a natural lifter and I think for what I've got for the time put into working out, I'm doing pretty good :)

My personal opinion is sexual competition is the driving force of the natty conversation. I've heard the over shadowing argument and its nonsense because all pro athletes use PEDs at least most. So you got your natty lifter working out and in comes in somebody who is enhanced and now the natty lifter is no longer the bell of the ball. Plain and simple, I think if we were all honest with our selves we would come to the same conclusion. Ty for the video and no bs content.

that's one of the biggest problems with image nowadays, its based on lighting effects and image editing. you should make a video where you take the same pictures in bad light then in the best light. I tried to show these examples to my cousin when he was very self conscious about hes image. I did exactly that. he didn't believe it was me from the same period of life lol. ime like you but allot shorter lol, muscular but I keep some fluff for energy. he was a big built lad like me but was worried cos he didn't have a six pack showing. so wish you had your other vid out back then when you talk about real strong men being a bit fatter not lean an jacked. would of been the best way I could of described it too him. the same lad suffers depression through the fear of hes image. like I said, all of it is just good lighting..... what most people whom suffer this delusion need to not to go to the gym an get big but just do mobility work and eat right...…. that in its self will produce a healthy strong body. not weightlifting strong, but strong enough to be happy.

Your testosterone will be supressed by vast majority of steroids. What steroid users do to combat this when they go off a cycle is a PCT or post cycle therapy where they use medicine to kick start their natural production of testosterone. Your body takes weeks maybe even months to truly come off cycle and if the PCT is effective it will take weeks to start your natural production of testosterone but 99.9% of the time your body will not produce near as much test as it used to. This isn't a problem for people who can inject testosterone or synthetic variants later but for health purposes it is bad. Someone who did a cycle of steroids may essentially screw themselves out of having a higher natural testosterone levels forever which may force them to be on TRT for the rest of their lives to maintain the same level of test as they had before they went on cycle.
There are a lot of myths surrounding steroids both true and untrue. It is a medicine meant to improve someone's quality of life. TRT and HRT can make a night and day difference in the lives of the elderly, and even in children who don't grow as quick as others. Steroids are everywhere, hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid you can buy at the dollar store, it's basically synthetic cortisol. Being that there's two main classes of steroids this is a very broad topic. Those two classes being anabolic steroids and corticosteroids. Anabolic steroids are synthetic variants of your sex hormones and insulin, think testosterone, estrogen, and of course all the types of insulin on the market. The phrase "anabolic" gets thrown around a lot but what it means is just building. And that's what these hormones do, they assist in building and storing things. Insulin gets a bad wrap but it's what allows protein synthesis to occur because it actually delivers amino acids to your muscle cells!
Corticosteroids are synthetic cortisol, they are used to suppress immune systems, treat skin conditions, and can also enhance peoples lives!

But what about just doing all that stuff ? I do deadlifts / romanian deadlifts for reps / bentover rows with different grips / pendlay rows / hammer strenght rows / pulldowns / Kroc Rows all in my pull- day ( which I have twice a week at least ) and have no problem with recovery whatsoever .
I hit PR s on my deadlift / trapbar deadlift every week and I dont even count the weights for my rows I just go all in .
Im making all kinds of gainz with this mentality / heavy metal thing and when I start plateauing I ll definately start with this garlic thing or the bulgarian thing
I ll eat raw onion for reps

It's because steroids are unsustainable. You can't roid 24/7 all the time all year. You can keep lifting but once you're off, you ARE going to lose the muscle, and will be smaller until you get more steroids into your body again. Eating food is easy and very common obviously and necessary for life so it is all you if you are natural, steroids are a direct hormonal profile modulator and so you get your muscle's cellular resources depending COMPLETELY on the use of exogenous testosterone

bugenhagen, as a long time fan, please consider being transparent about your no-longer-natty state in another talk video like this. we all know you are juiced since the injury AND THATS OK!
folks trust you. you could share what youve learned from the stack and how to go about it from your perspective. it would really open up the conversation if more athletes approached the topic from a state of pride, rather than shame and you could circle back to your thesis in this video where you are clearly natty. no pressure. i imagine you are worried about how it would effect the "mindset" aspect of your personal brand. imo its just another piece of the mindset, rather than a crutch for it.
