Love you guys podcast. Another great addition to the heritage/well made clothing genre. I don’t even know what to really call it. But you know people like Carl, Stridewise, etc. Paul and Albert from Upstate Guy need to sit down and have a iron heart affinity podcast lol. Love the brand have their UHFs, button up shirts, t shirts, jeans and jackets. Not hating just love the enthusiasm from the older gents for the brand.
I love the “Iron Heart Affinity” concept. I have an open invitation to Albert “upstate guy” if he ever makes it to San Francisco. So, it may happen someday!
I said this in the preview for this video but again, Bravestar is unbeatable. I’ve tried naked and famous, iron heart, freenote, Rgt, and I just don’t see where my money goes for those other than finishing. I hope they’re around for awhile i buy basically all of my clothes from them.
My go to denim is Bravestar. Their slim straights fit me the best. PBJ has awesome texture and fade potential but so expensive. Didn't like the 634s IH cut, maybe some others will fit me better? N&F has great fabric, they are the king of variety and uniqueness, you just gotta see if their cuts suit you.
Thanks for the weblinks. Seems like the Japanese have an affinity to boots and jeans. The Red Wing store that I buy from is close to a Caterpillar office. The salesman there said all the time Japanese men come to their store when they are there at Caterpillar for business. They want anything Red Wing related including boxes he told me. I see listings on eBay selling boots asking incredible prices. It never made sense why Red Wing marketed styles outside the U.S. and never sold them in the U.S. I finally was able to nab a pair of style 2268 engineer boots in my size. Seems to be the same way with selvage jeans. More offerings from Japan. All though I am seeing more selvage jeans being made and sold from U.S. retailers.
@@themancaveclub They certainly do. I don't know how many SONY products I have bought that are still working. In fact I still am using a SONY CRT projector in my home theater made in the late 1990's and even have a backup projector if this one ever quits. In fact SONY made one of the best CRT's, their G90. Way out of my price range for a new one and even used ones sell high.
That’s what I’ve heard. FYI, Iron Heart’s “work shirts” run larger through the body and arms. That’s why they make both styles, western and work, in most of the fabrics. We have a great “Flannel Shirt” episode coming up soon!!
@@themancaveclub I can’t wait bc I’m looking now for a brand that make’s similar quality tops in a bigger fit! Crazy part is I’m not even that big they just fit super small! Makes me feel kinda way though lol

Just from my experience, the brands that fit fuller are: Freenote, Filson, Warehouse… just to name a few. But. In terms of Iron Heart, you’d probably want to go with their “work shirt” because it’s a fuller cut.
I dont get rolling your jeans as a fashion. We did that when we were poor and couldn't afford to get a proper fit, usually hand me downs. It looks unkept and just wrong. 🤷♂️ especially when wearing over priced denim.
I can see your point. I can go both ways. When I’m riding the motorcycle, I most always take the cuff out. But, when I’m just hanging out, I usually wear a cuff. Other than that it’s a personal preference I guess.
Cuffing your jeans has a couple few purposes. 1. Heritage. If you look at a lot of old pics of working men, they cuffed. It was due to all jeans coming long, but it's still nostalgic to some. 2. It's a Flex of the selvedge ID. 3. It's a form of communication to other denim heads. 4. Some like the look.
@@dark_gravity_edc except 99 percent of the guys rolling their jeans are not working in them and have paid far to much for a pair of pants that dont fit. Jeans were meant for working in, rolling their jeans back then was more a financial thing then anything else. When in reality rolling them like that catches and collects dirt. I find it funny the things people want to imitate and the things people avoid.

What’s the big deal? We don’t all have to dress the same way. If we all wore the same thing the same way, what a boring world we would live in. And also, if you find these jeans overpriced, then keep buying those $10 Costco jeans. Nothing wrong with that. Btw, I can guarantee that if we looked in your closet and/or saw pictures of you, we could pick out a bunch of things that are “just wrong”.
@va6gkthaskey311 we just like the look of the cuff. It's classic, and the selvedge id looks class. If I want a tailored pair of trousers, I'll wear one of my suits. My jeans fit me perfectly and sometimes tailor them. Always cuff them. I think non-cuffed jeans look a little dull personally.
I know this is 3 months old but i wanted to share my experience with moving up to 21 ounce IH 666. I had 18 ounce, but it was slubby. The 21s I got 2 weeks ago aren't. I thought it wouldn't be a significant difference. It is. The 21 ounce is way more constricting. Be ready for break in. As far as brands. I'm not an Iron Heart fanboy. I have Bravestar, N&F, Gustin, Nudie, Jean Shop, 316 and PBJ. The Bravestar slim straight and IH 666 fit me the best. But what fits the way you like.

I agree! Brave Star really does make some amazing denim.

The Japanese have always had the uncanny ability to focus in on quality. It’s built into their culture.

The audio in almost all these videos is atrocious. Have stopped almost every video I’ve seen on here bc of it. Wish it’d get fixed

Haha! I just ordered a pair of 21oz. So, I’ll find out for myself! I think if you wear them long enough they break eventually
