AFE Momentum GT Intake Install on the 2020+ Ford Explorer ST

Today, we install the all new AFE Momentum GT Air Intake System on Matt's 2020 Explorer ST. While his car already has a few bolt on modifications, it's time to let it breathe properly with a little help from AFE Power!
Required Tools You'll Want to Have:
- 7mm Socket or Nut Driver (For Hose Clamps)
- 8mm Socket or Nut Driver (For Hose Clamps)
- 10mm Deep Socket
- 13mm Deep Socket
- 15mm Wrench
- 20mm Wrench
- Small 90 Degree Pick (If you have an Orange PCV Connection on your Intake Tube)
- Hose Clamp Pliers (Highly Recommended due to the lack of space where needed).

For those of us with 2022 it doesn't have all the needed parts. We don't have the hose from the driver's side to the bov therefore it's missing a cap for that part.

Hey Jarred where do you guys do the installs? Lethal in Wellington or Palm Beach Dyno? Last time I stopped at Lethal it was only a warehouse with parts for sale. I'm asking because your video as easy as it looks, scared me without that tool...lol...anyway, need to get my Lethal purchased aFe installed ASAP...live around the corner...please reply...thanks!

On the orange connector removal is there specific way you are pulling on it with the hook tool? I am installing mine on my 2022 today it has orange at both ends, but no sensor from what I can tell like the one in the video has

If you have no sensor, then you should be able to break the locking mechanism of the connection on the engine side. Although, if you wanted to keep the end intact, you have to spend some time around the edge feeling out the 3 tabs on the connector itself. You don't pull on it with the tool, the tool is simply to pop those tabs. You have to keep slight upward pressure so that the tabs do not reset as you are popping them.

I don't get why you even have to disconnect the crankcase hose at the engine side. Can you explain why?

Hey guys, I just installed this the other day. I was wondering if y’all know the part number for the hose with pressure sensor? Mine doesn’t have the same sensor as the one you guys have. I have a one that isn’t a plug it’s a different connector… any help for this would be appreciated, thank you!

What is the difference between the dry and oiled?

The oiled version allows for better flow and therefore, more horsepower and torque. The dry filter is slightly less efficient but requires no re-oiling or maintenance.

No. While of course you could just to be extra safe, there's no electrical components messed with during installation that could be negatively effected.

how long did it take to install?

With the filming, it took 2-3 hours. However, with just installation, it should take roughly 1-2 hours depending on skill level and tools. The trickiest part that may take longer would be the Orange PCV fitting (if you have it) and the connections on the turbos since they are a little harder to reach in the engine bay.
