Nothing better than putting your heart, soul and hours of hard work into a project and having it turn out so spectacular. That’s an amazing piece and you have a great skill. Really enjoyed watching.
I am 61 years old and this brought tears to my eyes. I wanted to pay the ultimate compliment that you deserve. I cannot find any words that would compliment your skill. That’s it I’m lost.
Thanks Dave that means a lot. Love eating at this table every day.
I recently completed a walnut book-matched slab table about this size. I cheated and used power tools. 😁. My trestle isn’t quite as elaborate, but I was actually as proud of the trestle as the slab. Everyone comments on the slab but they don’t see the detail in the trestle. Such is the life of a woodworker! I hope this never leaves your family. We have two children and they told me I have to make another so they don’t fight over it. You will have the same problem!
A true labor of love! This beautiful table will gather everyone around it, and create many family memories. Wonderful work, bud!
I had to show my wife the before and the after. She wouldn't sit for the entire process. I agree with her comments after. Skill, Craftsmanship, and Dedication. Really nice work. Thanks for letting us watch.
As a dad, a builder, and someone who loves to build things that leave a legacy for my children, be proud of your work and time. That is one amazing build. The things we give to our loved ones that show our investment of time are the most precious. Time is the greatest commodity and the most precious gift one person can give another. I can see this table lasting to the 3rd and 4th generation easily. Merry Christmas and have a blessed 2019.
Thanks! that means a lot!
I'm a woodworker myself, and I have to say that table is amazing. I love the book match, and the epoxy filler. It's a beautiful table!
Thanks. This was a truly fun one to work on.
Not just a table. Incredible craftsmanship. This is art
Absolutely stunning. Such incredible skill and patience. I felt a twinge of anxiety when the edge hit the ground coming off the bench. I'm so glad that it wasn't damaged - which is a testament to the integrity and build quality.
Thanks. There's a reason I put a good chunk of padding on the floor to catch the table. Lol
I just found you on TH-cam, i have to commend you for doing this river table All by hand. I am 69 and have been a carpenter for 40 years and I have know one person that does that and he was Amish. Beautiful work
The base alone deserves praise, fantastic hand workmanship.
Dont know whats more impressive, the finished product or the fact he did it with no power tools.
Building that table with power tools would be an accomplishment but with hand tools it is monumental! Great work! 👍👍👍
That is why I flattened it with powertools. Still a lot of fun.
@@WoodByWright now it's time to clean the shop
@@ziyaaddocrat5185 that was the best part!
You have a great talent your hand skills are amazing it's a art that is going out now because of technology so thank you very much for sharing that with us
@LastingBuild True to that! I mean I can't even imaging the amount of effort (and patience) that it must have taken!
Great job, loved it through and through! Hopefully, I can do something close to that in the years to come :)
This has got to be one of the finest pieces of work I have seen... the full hand craftsmanship, the detail and skill required to do this with minimal power tools is amazing! No cutting corners and working with a lot of precision! Great work! Beautiful table and well worth the effort!
I love eating at that table every day!
One of the most incredible builds I've ever seen. People will look upon this and never fully comprehend the effort that went into it. Bravo!!
James, you already know how much I love this table. I'd be willing to bet that the glow and flicker from the fireplace would light the epoxy areas up quite nicely. An overview video of this build was right on the money. I know you must be quite proud of this build. I also know Sarah must be ecstatic to finally have her table in the dining room. Cant wait to see what the next major build is going to be...
thanks Thomas! I am interested to see what the next build will be!
james, absolutley beautiful table! tremendous amount of work, and something anyone would be proud of for years and years to come. good job bud
Thanks man! that means a lot. I hope it breaks the backs of my dicendance for generations to come!
Incredible table, a true labor of love. My wish is that your family grows and learns true family values. Around your beautiful table. God bless you and yours.
Just unbelievable. As a novice who uses nonpower tools a lot I have an idea what it takes to tune, sharpen and learn to use these tools. I have never even dared to dream of having such skills. Bravo times 100!
Thanks man. That means a lot.
Wholly moley much respect to all the hand done work, did not see any power tools at all.Beautiful and again from 1 craftsman to another so much respect doing it old school.
One day somebody is going to say very proud.....
My grandfather did it!
Congratulations and great job!
Lol I hope so. Thanks!
I wish I could say that this is "next level" craftsmanship but this is so far and above that all I found myself doing throughout the video was shaking my head. Dude, you have mad skills... God has blessed you!
Tremendous! An excellent heirloom for your family. Your utmost attention to detail and pursuit of excellence shows in your finished work. Congratulations.
When he smiled, I cried. That's a marathon, an Everest, it's something very special that 99.99% of people would have cheated on or went to Ikea. It's always nice when you make something and realize, no one else on earth has this, it's an item that is actually priceless.
Thanks Derek. This was a fun one for sure.
I see so many projects where people spend so much time and it ends up looking bad but this was well worth the time and looks great.
Thanks. This was a fun one for sure.
It is absolutely beautiful, the smile on your face when you were done says it all. You have some real talent when it comes to working with your hands, literally!
Dude. I’ve never worked that hard at anything in my life, and I own a framing company. Kudos to you. Looks great.
You are a spectacular artist revealing God’s creative goodness! Thank you!
Thanks!
I’m a fairly good woodworker (70 years old). But you, sir, impress me. Awesome design and expertise. Thank you!
Thanks Lewis!
Tons of elbow grease. You have created such a beautiful piece and a treasure that you and your family will cherish for a lifetime. Wonderful job.
Absolutely beautiful! It's hard to believe that you took so much time with hand tools. It does make the project so much better. Family heirloom for sure.
I can't imagine how good was your first dinner in that table man congratulations
That was enjoyable!
I found that entire video strangely relaxing. Lovely work James. A family heirloom.
Thanks Mike. I do like to make relaxing videos.
Mike Biggs kids will be fighting over that.
Always amazed that someone can cut a straight line with a handsaw, even more amazing when that cut has to be so long.
Oh my goodness, your woodworking skills are impeccable. You have Mastered the Art of the woodworking World. I have a lot of respect for your work as I'm an avid lover of good wood workmanship. Fantastic design and beautiful wood grain. You saved a beautiful looking log cut. Congratulations.
Thank you for the kind words Larry. That really means a lot.
@@WoodByWright You're quite welcome Sir.
This is the first time I've seen this video and this is the prettiest table I've ever seen in my 72 years and the detail and craftsmanship is excellent , great job . I can only wish I could do that , maybe only in my dreams lol . Have you done any other projects ?
Thanks. I have a whole house full of furniture.
Man yours emotions were so heart touching. When you laughed by the final display, I felt that.
Hi
What a beautiful talent you have and thank you for sharing your masterpiece of bringing your timber back to life.
I tell you what bro, Watching Several probably dozens of people doing work creating in their shops I do not think I have watched one maker that impressed me as much as this project you completed, Kudos on all the handwork, I wish I could understand your attack the epoxy comments of the Masterpiece you pulled off, keep on Making It Right, Wright! I may have just coined a new Trademark Slogan for your business Ha Ha!
Thanks man! that means a lot. this was a fun one for sure!
@@ROACHRAGE2 LOL
Never saw a single power tool, quite impressive...as a youngster i took enough woodshop classes to know that i do not have the patience for that kind of work...I applaud you...amazing skills..
I shouted a direct shout ... That kind of planer wall many carpenters dream of .... You have it.
so absolutely beautiful!!! What an amazing amount of work you put into this piece. Very very impressive. The attention to detail is awesome!!
I’m certain there is no disagreement on the beauty of your work. I can’t say the same regarding your choice of footwear. Stunning build, congrats.
Thanks. Lol best shop shoes you can have extreamly comfortable and protective
Outstanding. Love that last scene where the whole crew helped bring in the top and set it. Good job my friend. Stay safe.
I have run out of words to describe how beautiful this table is! The flimaugraphy and music was fantastic as well! Enjoy!
Thanks. This was a fun one to put together for sure.
Incredible craftsmanship. I’m not sure wtf people are thinking giving this a thumbs down. Also love the use of hand tools. Well done.
thanks John. this was a fun one for sure!
I know that feeling you are having about your work being successful and how you wanted it. Congrats on a great job.
Thanks man. That sure was a fun build!
When i saw the clogs i thought this guy's a freak, when it was finished you confirmed you're a super freak! Mate that is a masterpiece, amazing.
Lol thanks man.
I felt the same way. I was like wtf mate? Awesome work tho. You need to carve yourself some clogs...
After watching this I realize I'm not lacking power tools.. I'm just very lazy.
Great work!
LOL I feel ya!
No, you have common sense unlike some apparently. I mean you are using epoxy to fill the wood. A saw mill to cut the slab. An no doubt a chainsaw to cut the tree. Yet choose to use a hand saw to cut a 1/4-1/2" x 3" x 12ft trim piece? Derp
Real handwork piece of art...Lucky wife and children to have such a talented dad...
STUNNING ... like a map showing rivers, lakes and estuaries. Extremely skilled
Thanks. I love staring at it.
Amazing work
I can’t believe he did all that work without power tools
He is so talented and patient
Great work👍👍👍
Simply stunning build, James. Excellent craftsmanship. Colossal achievement doing it all with hand tools.
Thanks man. It was a fun build for sure!
idk man i saw a router... pretty sure he's a phony hand tooler. LOL jk... freaking phenomenal work
what a sense of accomplishment. congratulations! very impressive.
Thanks. This was the fun one for sure.
Going through the process, I did not expect the end result. I thought it was going to be another shiny table with dark blue accents. When I saw you scrapping off the the shiny surface and apply the stain, it came to life. You certainly know what your doing. Great job!
Thanks. I love letting the woods speak for itself.
No power tools... dude you're amazing. A work of art.
What a fantastic feel-good video.
Well-edited, not too long or short on any one shot, no words necessary, perfect music...
A perfect start to my day.
Thank you, thank you for sharing your time and efforts...
thanks Erik. that means a lot
Hi
WOW. every thing i would have said has been said. Great job. You have style and taste. (not sure why some people put a thumbs down)
Just like others have said, this was so relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Every time I see you use hand tools so well, it inspires me. Absolutely beautiful work mate!
Thanks it means a lot. More fun to come.
Truly impressive. That is a work of art. You should do a series on working with hand tools, and suggestions on what tools to purchase. Good hand tools can be almost as expensive as power tools but they last.
Thanks. I have several videos on first hand tools and affordable hand tools. Most of the how to videos are on the second channel Wood By Wright How 2
One gorgeous table. It's obviously a work of love.
Wow!! I can only imagine the blood sweat and tears. Thank you for sharing! You are a true artist and craftsman!
Thanks Sarah. That means a lot.
That is absolutely phenominal work! When I first saw that slab with the huge voids I honestly didnt think it would come out very nice. I was asking myself what in the world would you want with such “ugly” wood. Lets just say I am completely blown away with your craftsmanship. It couldnt be any nicer!!
Thanks Derek. that mans a lot. When I first saw that slab I has an idea it would be nice!
Beautiful work and excellent craftsmanship. You are justifiably proud of the finished product.
thansk Gavin. this was a fun one for sure!
MADE ME CRY!!! Thankyou! You are a very special man with very special talents! I wish you success to the moon and back
thanks. this was a fun one for sure.
all i had been thinking that resin table top required lots of advanced tools but for the first time i am seeing someone who use neither those power tools nor any extra ordinary show off work shop but created a delightful giant dinning table top with his bare hand.great
Best part is the top is made from wood most people would throw out or use as firewood. P.S. Matthew Cremona sent me here from his channel, lol.
so true! thanks George! Love playing in Matt's stacks!
Best table I've seen in my life. Any better and you would have to climb and have your dinner on branch on a tree. Well done.
Melody says, Daddy I love the new table you made." JJ say's, "This is an awesome table." You did a great job honey, I am so proud of you. :)
Love you all too.
Nice
The amount of skill and thought that went into building this table is mind boggling. I regularly do wood working projects and can only dream to be able to do something this amazing. The fact that you used hand tools for so much of this build is unheard of nowadays. This item is something that can be passed down through generations and will never go out of style. You truly are a master craftsman.
Sir, You are a True Amazing American Craftsman! there are Few of your Caliber!! What a Fantastic Table Work of Art! Congratulations on an Amazing Job!
What a beautiful talent you have and thank you for sharing your masterpiece of bringing your timber back to life.
Absolutely stunning table mate. Enjoyed watching every minute!!!
Thanks Mick!
Had this video playing in the background while getting some stuff done.
At 9:20, I had to sit down. Well done, Sir.
Thanks Greg! It was a fun one to make!
I can't tell you how much this video inspired me! To make such a amazing piece that's huge in a small space with hand tools mostly is incredible! I'm starting to make live edge tables mostly outside and indoors in kitchen. It just shows that with determination you can succeed even in a small space with limited tools.
Thank you!
Just for the work you put in, you should be proud of yourself. I know, I would get a shiver, every time I sat down to eat! Nice video, thanks.
thanks! love eating there!
OMG this is totally amazing, you should be so proud of the finished project! 👏🏼
thanks! that means a lot!
Wow 1 year I was wondering how long it takes by hand
The table was somewhere between 250 and 300 hours of work. so it just depends on how much time you have to spend in the shop.
Absolutely mind blowing, incredible work! You're an inspiration! Good job
WOW you did all of that in 13:22 ! My brother in-law was a master craftsman I wish he was still here we would be taking on these jobs too. Great job ! Love the shoes.
This is not only a thing of beauty, but a source of greatly deserved pride. The amount of work can never be displayed by videos alone. The person who showed the most pride was DAD, the most excited, your son, the most relieved, your wife. GREAT WORKMANSHIP. You now rank with the greats, like Norm Abrams, and no doubt about it either. Hey Norm, he did it with almost no power tools, now you try it. ;-)
thanks. that means a lot!
Amazing table, where do you find that patience just using handtools you are insane, but in a good way. the frame and the top keep speaking to you forever , well done wow!
Wow great ,its beautiful.
Extremely fabulous hat's off man great artist
Sehr gute Arbeit - du hast meinen Respekt 👍
Danke, das bedeutet viel!
Wood By Wright was kosten so ein Tisch ??

Great work you deserve every respect, well done!👍
And for those who dislike🖕
LOL thanks man!
The 'Dislikers' are just Jealous! hehe
Выходной день лысого из BRAZZERS
😂😂😂
You are truly gifted. The fact that you used hand tools, says a lot about your character and the passion that you posses in your work. My respect!!!
thanks! that means a lot!
Folks who do not watch this video have no idea the love, patience and craftsmanship you put into this table. I'm in awe of your work. How long did it take you to do this project?
Thanks. That means a lot. This one was about 400 hours of work. Love eating at it.
Just incredible really. I have a shop with power tools and am intimidated by a project half that size. Beautiful work. Will be a family heirloom for generations.
Man he did everything the hard way Lol's
What a pleasure to watch true craftsmanship.
Handwerkskunst in größter Vollendung... absolutes Meisterwerk! Ich verneige mich vor dieser Kunst und Handwerker!!!
Vielen Dank. Das bedeutet mir viel! Es hat Spaß gemacht, das zu bauen!
A true family heirloom. This was such fun to watch I watched it twice. Absolutely gorgeous. It is obvious that you enjoy what you do!
Thanks Wendy. This was a fun one.
I so badly want to build a front door as solid as that table. Beautiful, beautiful work.
that would be fun!
Awesome work! Congratulations on a beautiful table for your family to be around. I hope there are many great meals shared around this table and prayers to along w/ them. God Bless yall
Two sets of two words describe this table, amazing craftsmanship and absolutely beautiful!
That’s a table worth of passing on for generations, sentimental value worth more than anything!
thank you Daniel. I hope it carts on a tradition for a long time.
Splendid work, such patience...The young ones will remember this in their later years and emulate your practice of the art and joy of Mastery.
thanks. this was a fun one for sure!
Very impressed. I love the idea of no nails or screws in the joints.
thanks! is do let the wood do the work!
Just beautiful. You put yourself into this. What a talent! Whoever's getting is getting more then a table. Really beautiful respect for wood.
thanks! this was a fun one for sure!
