I have seen many videos in youtube with wooden tables's creation with epoxy, but yours is beyond many others! Apart from the prototype idea, what I like mostly is that the final project is not epoxy with some wood, but pure wood with little to no epoxy! At last, I see a masterpiece truly of wood! Congratulations for your wonderful work! I wish you great creations!
A feelow woodworker here, I love both the simplicity and complexity of your work. The fact you work with normal tools and not something exotic showcases your talent
That's a great design. It's organic and eye-catching, managing to convey that organic nature despite being constrained to an unnatural-and convenient-geometric shape. No live-edge necessary.
I have watched several channels. I only have 1 favorite, until now! That table is magnificent!!!! I absolutely love seeing the growth rings of the tree(s), and having the shapes be soft and organic, but put together so beautifully, is what makes this an absolute masterpiece! I hope you keep it, but if i had a few 10's of thousands of dollars to play with, i would make an offer for it!
I like that you used black epoxy to echo the black legs. And that you thought countersinking the legs was important. Please explain further why you coated each piece before the black pour?

Love what you did and wonder if this was your original idea. Although I cannot recall the exact work, I am reminded of a Japanese work of art that portrayed clouds. Perhaps it was lacquer ware, possibly a woodblock print. In your table I see swirling clouds. Whether intentional, or not, I believe this woodworking project is not simply an example of your excellent craftsmanship but a unique and true work of art. Best creative idea I've seen using cookies instead of slab/live edge planks. Very nice execution of a best in class table top of this type of wood grain orientation. Thanks for posting.
One small suggestion: Use liquid soap for the form. Paint it inside with liquid soap, dry and after place all parts and epoxid liquid. You will save the form (don't need to broke it and it could be reused) . Only turn around and your table or something else will be free from the form.

This is a stunning piece. You're process is very similar to a technique called oystering which was invented by the great French cabinet makers of the 1700's. They would take cross sections of branches up to 3-4 inches in diameter and about 1/4 inch thick and then carefully cut and hand fit the pieces together. Since they obviously didn't have epoxy to fill the gaps, they had to be extremely precise. They would glue the pieces to a substrate and then use that to veneer the work piece. It was so labor intensive that the technique was reserved for only the highest of high end pieces for patrons who could afford the price. The technique was abandoned for over a hundred years and then resurrected for some high end art deco pieces in the 1920's. Your table is a beautiful modern adaptation of this technique. Very well done!
