I don't hate this story, but man, they keep FORCING a rift between the twins. Like there was no build up, just suddenly Rowan starts acting more brash and abrasive and Will is left wondering how this could happen, because we don't see the reasoning either (especially on Strixhaven)
The thing is that the lore/story writers for WOTC havnt been good in a very long time and "Twins have fight" is very easy to write so that's what they do.
A lost of a spark is a big lost and her raw compaction to red mana dose not help. Add a lost of family and will throw himself into trying to help the land and not her it is understandable.
Not at all. She really thought making everyone sleep was the best solution? She’s against it in 1 sentence. Then ok with it the next. Really needed more here to make it believable.

I think I'm tired of "Red Mage impulsive, so they do bad thing based on emotions". Also frustrating to see Rowan and WIll devolve into this mess after all their character development.
Yeah it was bad enough with Lukka. It’s worse with Rowan because she was raised as a knight essentially. Why would she turn evil just by the mere suggestion of it by a Witch?
@@AetherHub who happened to be her evilest aunt, as Hylda was the token good one (I hope she meets with Will), and Agatha was not as nasty as Errite and the Twins' mom
Urabrask, red praetor of New Phyrexia certainly was anything but bad, eventually sacrificing his life for what he believed to be the right thing to stand for.
you know if we were to force the twins to grow apart I really wished that they used Ashiok a little bit more. Since they have always been curious about the power dreams and nightmares have , I would have written that Rowan had been subtly influenced by Ashiok by making her paranoid to "coerce" her into working with him. Idk but it is intriguing to have Ashiok as the big bad of the next arc since they are kind of nebulous and just wants to research
I met the 2 writers at Minneapolis for MTG, I said the writing in the past was bad but it's getting better they reported me lol, Stop writing terribly @wotc
The twins are dealling with the truama of their parents dieing. Will being blue aligned is dealing with the feeling that without his father he must fill the void in leadership or he is letting him down. Rowan is dealing with survivor's guilt, projecting her self hate for not acting to help her father in his fight, on her brother. Survivor's guilt is a hell of a drug and will cloud all reason until you process those emotions or become a slave to them.
thanks! this is a great video. gonna save it into a playlist of Metronome arc story summaries. only thing i want to point out is Eriette's name is pronounced something like "airy-yet".
Tf why is Rowan so unhinged like i get shes red but why does red always= impulsive aa if other emotions arent a thing we couldve a Rowan whose deeply passionate about saving eldraine and "Cold" and calculating And disillusioned Will who needs Rowan to be his anchor All that chatacter developmemt juat to be a substandard Chandra...
Why is Ashiok the main enemy mentioned like twice in this whole story. I hate how it’s constantly just brushed over even though it has been stirring things up for a long time
Idk why people hating on Rowan so much. Her story arch seems pretty well put together to me. She’s not unhinged she’s been emotionally damaged and lost. Wanting to do the right thing just unsure how to. And when given a way by erriette in the way that she feels she’s strongest, not by words but by action, she takes it. Seems like people can’t seem to see passed what’s on the surface of Rowan’s emotions and actions. #standwithrowan
Personally it has more to due with that a lot of her conflict with her twin isn’t actually shown or talked about. We just have to infer what their reasons are. I think it also has to do with WOTC tends to box certain colors into roles. Like every red mage seems to be highly impulsive
Yes. Just an easy to find collection for people to catch up on the story especially as we move forward into other stories! What I’ve also done is cut up the section to fit more cohesively. You’ll see in the other videos, the story jumps perspectives. This streamlines it
12 videos of asking you to discuss that since the omen paths now exist slivers from all over can travel the multiverse and the hive mind can finally be one!
Welcome to WOTC where main characters have conflict because reasons. Oh you wanted to know what those reasons are? Uh because blue and red clash? Sure that makes sense
As someone pretty new to magic, Rowan has got to be the most unlikeable character I’ve listened to thus far. No logical thinking at and her emotional reactions don’t even make sense in the grand scheme of things. Just seems like one twin is stuck a child and the other is trying to do everything with out them.
The writing has been so bad since War of the Spark. I swear their writers are unbearable which pisses me off because I used to like the lore and the stories.
Oko being a deadbeat dad is so funny to me (I read the lore as it came out)
It’s really on point for his character. Although he cared enough about his baby mama to kidnap the high king and try to kill him lol

How tf is Rowan still so unhinged and have so much angest against Will?! SHE LITERALLY BLEW HIS LEG OFF BEFORE AND HE STILL SEES HER AS FAMILY?!?!

I still need rat lore though. What's going on with the rats swarming towns? I can't find anything about Totentanz anywhere.

"The wilds of the mary sues" Should have been the title.
I still don’t understand why Rowan wanted to extend the sleeping curse
Have you studied the aftermath of war? Most people want to just go back to before it happened. The sleeping curse allows them to do that permanently
so this is just a supercut of the previous videos?
