At the folk festival this year (shrewsbury), my mates were gutted Bellowhead weren't there this year. So at 2 in the morning, we all stood on tables singing this to the copious amounts of drunks in the social / food / drinking tent to many pints. Fucking Euphoric.
I also saw them at the Hexagon, Reading on Wednesday. Can only say brilliant - rarely have I ever seen such a talented band that is so energetic, creative, humorous and able to play numerous instruments throughout the performance! Absolutely bloody superb!
I love this song if theirs!!! Saw them perform it at Chagstock on sunday, was the best :D we all stood dancing like mad as well, singing along. Not a bad song to be dancing to next to a good looking guy. Plus when your near the front. The heat and the noise gets to you and you lose all care and just dance! XD
Great song, great performance. I've seen them twice, at the The Brook, Southampoton and at Cropredy 2010. They are at the Wickham festival next weekend, do see them if you can. glad to see a mention in the song of the down side of whisky. I've seen men drink themselves to death, including my uncle.
A clip of this tune was played in a commercial for Jack in the Box (fast-food restaurant here in the US). Really caught my attention so I had to check it out. This was not the group in the commercial (just a mans voice), but they sound very good. Definitely going to favorite it.
Just discovered this group and I think they are awesome; love their energy and sense of fun, the music and song. Hey, what's not to love? I am bewildered, though. The singer doesn't look much like Jon. Is it someone else?
@bobfari I'd say it's more Polka/Irish trad. than English to be honest, English folk is a bit dreary, and this certainly isn't dreary. It carries a lot of Irish airs and graces, and if you've ever heard Irish Polka pieces you'd agree, plus he's singing about being a piss head, which of course is a very Irish thing to sing about.
@fozziebear26 Lol, same man. Its crazy unique, but brilliant. Thats Jools Holland for you. Puts people you may never have heard of on his show, and there brilliant. :)
this never fails to hit the spot at any time! great stuff!!!

First band I ever saw live, they were amazing! I was literally half asleep when they started and within 5 minutes I was wide awake and dancing.
