This takes me back. When I was 20 working at an insurance agency, the president drove a Fleetwood identical to this one. Guy had an 8 figure net worth, could have had any car in the world, but all he wanted was one of these. You'd never know he was loaded by looking at either his house or his car. I learned a lot about life from him, he was like another grandpa to me.

My 94 Fleetwood got 26mpg. Even with almost 300k on the LT1! I had the transmission rebuilt and installed a shift kit and stall converter. Those upgrades really helped with the performance.

8:51 And that is why you let the hood fall the last 8 or 10 inches instead of letting it down slowly and then push like a maniac on it.
You will avoid getting nice little dents on it, just like in the video.
How many hoods I've seen with those dents when they're easily avoidable. 😥

Wow, I never would've guessed that a car that recent would have the fuel filler behind the license plate - my old '68 Cougar was that way! Never seen a locking mechanism for one of those either. Cool!
You need your own warehouse. Then you can store a car like this - $4500 sounds a little high to me, but I'm not up on the market. I'd look at how many were produced, and try to get an idea of how many survive. If it's rare, keep it, and it may well appreciate. I'm guessing they didn't make a whole lot of those cars. I'd want to take a look at that trunk lock before buying any parts.

I had an 1986 Bro Ham the trunk problem is from people slamming it, not using the soft close feature. I owned a limo service back then and customers used to slam my trunks all the time. It’s the latch it needs to be replaced. Simple fix. Love 💕 the gas cap feature wish I had that. Horn sounds a little off also. I had Vogue white wall tires those are the recommended tires.

This is a bittersweet video to watch. I love the Fleetwoods. My grandparents had a 1994. We were the second owners and bought it when it was 9 years old after the prior owner blew the engine up. Sadly the car was destroyed in the Florida hurricane last year. The water line was up to the doors and that was all she wrote. We had just put new tires on it, a new transmission, and rebuilt the front suspension too.

I think people are starting to look for these as they are the last "real" Cadillac. Since these were the expensive high-end model made for only four years there were not many made and fewer in decent condition left. As far as the trunk motor, I have to replace one on my GTA and I hear it can be a pain getting the alignment correct if you don't have everything marked before disassembly.

4:44 If all else fails, that looks like something that could be fixed by modeling in some JB Weld, using a spatula of sorts and a dremel for the finishing touches. If it's an actual weak point, enlarging the screw hole to accommodate a washer may be useful. It does look like a reasonably large-head screw to begin with, no doubt because they knew they were dealing with plastic.
Using the dremel with a cutting disc may also help the melted defrost vent do its job once again - it's not exactly looking pretty as-is so there isn't much to lose.
Neat ol' boat. Anachronistic even by 1996 standards, sure, but classic 20th century American luxury nonetheless. Not sure whether I've ever seen any of these over here, there can't have been many. Seeing this one reminded me of the old William DeVaughn soul song, "Be Thankful for What You Got".

Sweet find 👌 I've been itching to turn one of those into a sleeper. Boost and a manual swap maybe.

Also…. Cadillacs of the 80’s and 90’s always have a plush ride without the body roll, if you want body roll, find a Lincoln. Train horn… yeah. I’d drive that, but I already have one… sitting on 1.5” whitewalls. Lol

You have discovered part of the reason why the Roadmaster and Brougham of this generation command the prices that you noted, particularly with low mileage. I have owned my 1992 Roadmaster for six years and have probably driven it about 10,000 miles in that time -- they are quiet, good riding cars that are exce4ptionally stable on the highway. At 86,000 miles, my Roadmaster is still relatively low mileage and in my area would likely draw around $,6000 to $7,000 on the used car/collector car market. Its two weaknesses are doughnut gaskets on the exhaust pipes and resonators, but other than that, it has been regular maintenance items. The one irritation is finding a shop that can align this car in my area as most refuse as they tell me their alignment racks require that the top of the rear tires be visible to the alignment equipment when the car is sitting on their rach -- and the rear wheel wells on these cars hide the top of the rear wheel. I have really enjoyed the appearance of my car with the Vogue whitewalls with the gold stripe -- excellent handline along with long wearing.
