    Nice Jeep and tires. I've got a 2013 Jeep wrangler sport with the 3.6 v6 and 6speed trans and I just put a set of 285 75 16 AT tires on it and no left or spacers and no problems with anything other than my speed is off between 5 or 8 miles . But I'm getting ready to get that fixed soon 😊

    Looks soooo much better. I wanted to see you go off-road and check for clearance with articulation. I’m rolling 33x12.5s on my YJ 2.5l with 4” lift. Next set are going to be 10.5s;)

      We put 31s back on the yj just to get some Highway speed back. The rubbing with the 33s bent the back drivers wheel well.

      I love the look and feel of big mud tires, we are building a big yj with a 350 and one tons. It's lifted and could fit 40s very easy. But first New suspension on Randi's Green TJ. ... then the Cherokee... I need a barn.

    Can you mount 33s with no lift? Mostly. I have a 2012 JKU Sahara with 18" wheels. I just installed 275/70/18 BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2s. BFG claims these are 33.2" tires. At full lock (only) the LF tire rubs significantly on the sway bar. The RF tire rubs a little on the sway bar. No other rubbing that I've found yet in the 200 miles I've been running them. I thought they would fit fine but I'm not worried since I can only turn the wheel full lock at slow speeds. I am not interested in trying wheel spacers. Also maybe it's psychological but I do think the Jeep is more sluggish and the transmission is hunting more for the proper gear when riding around town. That 33" tire does fit in the spare tire mount.

      Thanks for the info. I did have spacers on and have also put a 3 1/2 inch lift. I did like the ride with out the lift, but I made room for 35s.

    Looks like TH-cam missed sending notifications of Questions on this video. I will be going over them this week. But here is an update after almost 3 years. The tires are holding up but 35s will be going on before Jeepin with Judd 2021. After doing moderate trails and a lot of articulation rub, we did go with a 3 1/2 inch lift. Because its manual I had no issues with gearing. 33s will fit fine and I loved the stance. The 12.5" width did require spacers or a rim change. I went with Spidertrax spacers. Thank you for watching - now to get that blue gator Jeep back from Jeepers Den....

    Any rub on the sway bar? I am looking forward to putting 275/70r18 on my non-lifted 2016 Sahara. What I don’t get is how putting a slightly wider tire make it 33”. The stock size is 255/70r18. All I want to do is put 0.8” wider tire, i.e. 255 to 275. Rest stays the same.

    • @FloridaJeepRides
      @FloridaJeepRides  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Choosing tires depends on what type of terrain you're going to drive on frequently. If there's no mud then there's no need for mud tires. I kind of like the Nittos because they tend to last longer. Mud tires don't last as long if you spend a lot of time driving on the pavement, you have to frequently rotate them to keep the Ware even.

    I was told I could not put 33s on my Jeep jk 2015 without a lift 😡 they put a 3.5 lift on it I hate the way it handles now sways a lot on little bumps and just doesn’t feel real safe doing turns ( that may just be me) I wanted a 1.5 or 2 in body lift but they said it couldn’t be done. How does your Jeep handle and ride with those tires being stock height?

    • @FloridaJeepRides
      @FloridaJeepRides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We started with a lifetime alignment at Tires plus, that helped right away.
      Our Jeep has had a lift had all shocks and springs done last year. A 2015 should be good. Now it does fine around town, good down the road... after 70 it gets a bit scary. It often depends on the tires, and roads. Atlanta, was a crazy ride. When we first put the tires on it was all good. Now onto the 2010 JKU, It can be a chore just to keep it on the road sometimes. It feels like a sail boat moving around. I have redone all the steering, drag link, tie rod, ends, and even replaced the ball joints. Still a wandering feeling. It has 31s and a 3.5 inch lift. I did a steering box adjustment and that made it a little better.

    • @mom2four527
      @mom2four527 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well then at least I’m not crazy lol everyone says lifting doesn’t change the way it handles or rides. I’m in a 2 dr jk at that. I guess I’ll ride it like it is for now an see what the future holds thanks so much for your response.

    • @FloridaJeepRides

      When this video was done the tires were 33" x 12.5" on 18" Sahara rims. They required 1" spidertrax wheel spacers to not rub the frame. We have never had any issues with the spacers. That same year I volunteered to lead trails at Jeepin, with Judd and had some rub on off camber monuments. Eventually a 3.5" lift was installed and has prevented much of the fender rub. The tires are still holding up, but 35s are coming soon.

      stock 255/75/17 tires are about 10 inches wide. There is about an inch clearance between the sidewall and the upper rear control arm so if you put 12.5 inch wide tires on they will rub. I put 1.25-inch spacers on mine.
