Come on, people. At least watch the video you comment on before throwing yourself into a MEGAVLAKSNDLASKNDALSKND frenzy.
"Chara... i think i changed my mind... i don't like this idea anymore..." The phrase was said by both Asriel and Flowey, one when Chara got ill because of the buttercups (yellow flowers), and other when... well... you know it.
@@suitcasesolos I think it's because in Genocide, Chara soon wanted to kill him. And if flowey dies, he wont come back. And he was scared he was going to be dead forever from her.
Knowing Flowey's anguish as he desperately fails to connect with his family, commits suicide potentially dozens of times, and watch as his friends lose anything that ever made them mean anything to him...no wonder he's a lunatic.
I feel so sorry for Flowey, He is stuck in a world where he has nothing left to do. He can't care, he can't die. He is forced to live life over ans over again, and he can't do anything about it. Even worse, his best friend comes back. Then is against him. I feel sympathy for Flowey.
This just shows how much Chara means to Asriel. Asriel misses them so much that if anyone even looks similar to them he with believe they are Chara, even if all that is left of him is a soulless flower. EDIT: also, Flowey can feel joy and real happiness just by being near "Chara". something that his parents could not do.
It's not that he *can'*t die. He knows at any point he could let go and let the world carry on without him. But he's afraid to die because, with no soul, what would happen? In fact, contrary to what he says, fear is the only thing he can genuinely feel. When first he came back, he was alone and afraid, calling for his mom and dad. When about to die, he was afraid to move on. When Chara threatens him here, he is scared of them.
eugh. forgive me, but i honestly hate asriel. flowey is my favorite because he's not your typical saturday-morning cartoon villain, and actually has a.. drum roll please.. A REASON.
Fear is not an emotion. It is the sole urge to survive. You perfectly portrayed this in floweys voice at the end, thank you! Even so, there are so many eMOTIons in this piece, it's incredible!
I know this is 6 years old, I found it 5 years ago, but if you see this, I just want to say, this is a masterpiece, and the way you captured the way this is almost comforting in a way, but bone chilling all the same, this song made me an instant fan of your channel, well that's all, have a good day!
Up until the scary part, I imagine Ash Ketchum singing a rendition of this, about all the people he met in his travels...and how he had to say goodbye to them all.
It's pretty disheartening to see those flashback images. It's hard to look at Toriel, Papyrus, and Undyne knowing they're already dead. It's hard to look at Asgore and Flowey knowing they'll be dead soon. It's hard to look at Alphys knowing that she may very well be ending her life as we speak. It's hard to look at Frisk and Chara knowing they've been driven mad because some whiny idiots weren't satisfied with the pacifist route.
I think that pretty well sums up Flowey’s story in genocide runs: it starts off a game, something fun to do with his returned brother but then he realises this is a really bad situation and he probably won’t get out of this.
First part: Me trying to speak more and get out what my older brother was doing to me, and get away from him and make friends Second part (the end when flowey is scared): When things got worse and I got hurt a lot. Oh yeah don’t mind this btw. It’s over and done. Thx to MOTI I powered through it, and even if I’m still left with some chaotic aftermath, I’m staying determined
When i follow the path of Genocide, when i see that scene i truly understand how far this path goes. Because even Flowey, THE Flowey, the same who became an abomination god to take control of the game, the Flower who want to kill again and again. Even him, was scared. And when even that demon is scared of you. What kind of demon are you ?
davideo And i'm totaly proud of it. For me, if that game learn me one thing. That's i'm not better than Flowey, i just wanted to try all the end, all the possibilites. So yeah, i'm a killer, i killed all the monsters, twice and i don't feel any shame about it. Because i had fun with both pacific and genocide end, and if i can, i can have fun again o/
@@duolingoowl920 I actually like Genocide more then Pacifist, because I could finally be bad guy. It was pretty good experience, except killing Papyrus...
I consider a genocide run absolutely fundamental to truly experience this game, not for edgy reasons like it's fun to kill, but because of how much of the narrative and the characters are truly explored to their furthest. Flowey's monologue is my favourite part of the entire game, and this song does it a lot of justice.
Everyone craps on the players for doing the genocide run now, saying it's just morbid curiosity to see what happens when you kill everyone, but _this_ scene. This scene is what I wanted to find. The Pacifist ending is bittersweet, you can never save Asriel. Even though the Undyne the Undying fight and Sans fight are the main reasons people do the geno run, this sequence of Flowey pouring his heart out is what, in a way, made it worth it. You don't get a satisfying Genocide ending, but my curiosity was satiated. As Schafrillias once said, I had become Flowey. I finally understood him.
Yeah, Asriel is tragic but him becoming so horrible as flowey only reveal the flaws his character had before that, he was emotionally driven. Without emotions to guide him he quickly found himself being cruel. Also, since Flowey does not have any extra emotions as a Flower Flowey's sadism...
Xander did really good this time! I mean, his -Spongebob- Flowey performances were always great, but this time was just phenomenal! It’s a nice change, seeing Flowey not being all evil and such, and we got to hear what he sounds like when he’s singing from his nonexistent heart.
Yep. I almost cried. My friend said ''Is that even the same voice actor?'' and I was like '' It is, except Flowey's *not being sadistic* at the moment.''
This was amazing! The first time we've heard Flowey sing a slower song, and that really adds to the emotion. It honestly brings a new light to the pacifist Flowey, who already had a sad(ish) background. And the art. THE ART. Blown my socks off. And I wear big socks.
Cheeky The Monkey so meny a see a nope and a blarthe jokers and flowey is asriel but your very freand it s not chara but sans, flowey is cute maybe mmm..but..but.. ooooo god im grandery grasen a bed time.... :P ♥♥♥♥
I think Flowey actually gains the ability to love at the end of the True Pacifist. He tells you to please not reset because he feels bad for all the monsters who have finally got to the surface, probably only for the player to do a true reset and be sent to the underground. He only does that because he wants them to just live a happy life. He feels bad for everyone on the surface who would probably get trapped back into the underground.
I don't think he did gain the ability to love. I feel he just know that monsters are happy now and he just warns you to not reset everything. He stayed in the underground for a reason, I think he know's how dangerous he is so he rather stays underground to not hurt someone.
@@ianzhou7010 It' hard to say if he actually cares about them, he still has no soul so he shouldn't. I think he just want leave them alone, so they have their happy ending. I just don't think he regained emotions, that's all.
I'm guessing he remembered how it felt when he had everyone's souls in him. He could feel other emotions like amusement, fear, anger, annoyance, stuff like that, but he couldn't feel love. And he finally got a taste of that when he absorbed all the monster souls. He at least knew what it had felt like, even without a soul. He knows all the other monsters got their happy ending, so he warned Frisk not to reset. And he probably stayed in the underground because he didn't want to ruin that happy ending with his presence. But I've seen many endings to the Pacifist route where Flowey gets saved. There's one where Flowey uses his other emotions to help him feel love, and another where he can just simply understand. And here's another thing, if Flowey didn't want you to reset, that means he doesn't want to either. He's okay with this ending. He doesn't want to destroy it. That's probably another reason he stayed back in the underground.
I know a lot of people don't like flowey, because he's supposedly evil, but think of it this way if you had the power to reset all of your timelines over and over and over again, with no limits of your knowledge, would you stay good forever and never see what would happen if you just had a different ending.. A "worse" Ending? Plus, witth no soul, who knows?
Kit Post Besides, it might start by justifying it, like "I'm only curious. I can just reset and make them happy again when I'm finished. What they can't remember won't hurt them for long."
The great paralells between the human and Flowey are great and very underrated. You either end the game as a Frisk, or play it long enough to see yourself become a Flowey
Wow Xander, great job. I still find it amazing how you manage to be a squeaky villain and make me emotional at the same time. The callbacks to the original musical were a very clever idea too.
It's pretty disheartening to see those flashback images. It's hard to look at Toriel, Papyrus, and Undyne knowing they're already dead. Ohhhhhhhh... my... god... no...nonononononono... This... This just proves how unstable Flowey truly was. The lyrics just broke me. When Flowey realizes his mistake, the artwork and lyrics actually made me shiver in fear. This song is probably one of the best songs I've heard with Flowey in it for a while (because of the lack of Flowey purposely in the Genocide Run) and now... now I just... I dont even have words anymore...
It sucks that this section was before the sans fight because people usually skip it or forget it’s existence playing the game or hell the man on the internet genicide playlist. But honestly, this section to me is so emotional, to learn that flowey went through a depressive state and didn’t want to exist anymore…it really hits me considering I feel those things (I’m obviously not a genicidal maniac) but going crazy over every day feeling the same is extremely relatable. Hes way more complex then we give flowey credit toby fox is amazing at revealing 2D characters as complex 3 dimensional characters
Fantastic! The lyrics are absolutely perfect! This was one of the songs that at first I didn't really like, but after listening to the scratch tracks it had really grown on me. I don't know if its Undertale's catchy tune or what but it really stuck with me. This is one of the songs that I'll just randomly start singing because its so catchy. A month or two ago when the ps4 version of Undertale released I decided to do a genocide play-through first. When getting to Flowey's monologue, I sang Floweytale along with him talking, and I have to say that the lyrics in the song are almost word for word in the game. Every line in the song coincides with a line in the game. It's a great feat to capture the monologue in song form with catchy lyrics, and you've done all of that. Hearing Xander sing in his Flowey voice for probably the last time is pretty special, and he did a great job. The art was great as usual, and I especially liked the art at the end with Chara standing over Flowey. With only 3 songs left, I'm excited to hear the endgame songs of The Genocide Package.
You know shit is real when a (literally) soulless flower who’d murder everyone just to get what he wants is afraid of _you._ You’re even worse than him at this point.
@yourfathersinferioritycomplex honestly it feels like to me he only gains something resembling moral standards when he realizes the human might be turning on him
Slower version of Undertale starts playing, instant chills. God. I had chills through the whole song, really. Undertale always has that effect on me but combined with Xander's Flowey vocals... God, it's so amazing. I think this is the first time we've really gotten a slower Flowey song, something where he sounds more melodic as opposed to crazy insane and Xander really knocked it out of the park. His range really is amazing, having heard his regular voice compared to his Flowey voice... I dunno, it just seems so crazy to me that he's able to maintain this whole song without ever really going from the Flowey range into Xander's regular voice. I am very impressed! The range of emotions this song goes through are nearly as impressive as the original Undertale. Instead of being a story about how the Dreemur family was broken, this is the story of how Asriel was truly broken and became Flowey. Xander delivers it perfectly. The insistence at the start that he WAS trying, how empty his words seem as he recounts seeing Asgore and Toriel. The line "A world without love, a world without you" nearly brings me to tears, it just captures how much Chara meant to Azzy and it's absolutely heartbreaking. I dunno, Flowey's depression always hits me really hard-- that feeling of trying so hard to feel anything and just not being able to do it, knowing that thing should be there but it just isn't, it's captured so well in this song. The bit where Flowey tries to end it and then ponders over what will happen when he dies, the way Flowey's voice seems to truly rage against the dying light (and also the little shots of Chara and the dust, ow), really wonderful. The shots from UTM to symbolize the paths Flowey took and the "friends" he made was a really great touch. And then he becomes the Flowey we know, gleefully singing about killing everyone and discussing his plan with Chara. The way his voice softens though, the way he sings about just living on the surface with Chara-- honestly, that may be my favorite part of the song. Flowey sounds like a happy, excited and hopeful child, something he's NEVER sounded like before. Right after all his gleeful edgelord LET'S KILL THEM ALL comments, in the end... he's just a lonely kid who's happy to have his friend to play with. In all previous Flowey songs the "game" and "show" have an edge to it, but here he is just a kid like he should be. I love the touch that this bit is sung to the tune of His Theme, it recalls that deep down he's still Asriel and that's so good. Which only makes his fear later as he becomes truly scared honestly amazing. First he is an innocent, happy child again, and now he's a SCARED kid just begging his friend to stop messing with him. The art of Frisk looming over Flowey is just perfect, that shadow is genuinely ominous and poor Flowey's scared face just makes me feel for him. The questioning nature at the end, how Flowey seems so genuinely scared and worried, the moment where he seems to realize by encouraging this he may have done something truly awful. Like he's also realizing this isn't the Chara he knew, that maybe this isn't a game for them... ugh it's so good. Excellent job as always guys, and I'm absolutely pumped for the final three weeks of this glorious miseryfest.
This song perfectly describes why people like Undertale, unlike in other games, every choice you make truly matters, you can't just predict everything it does, it really does change.
Oh it would be amazing if in deroit become human reset mattered for example Hank said i think i know you from somewhere if conor kara markus would be able to reset
@@quanchi2123 that actually would be really interesting, like Connor has time travel technology due to him being a brand new Android... IDEA, DETROITALE, bad or good?
After last weekend I decided to listen to the remaining scratches to get a refresher and the MOMENT I heard Floweytale my immediate thought was: I *NEED* to hear Xander sing this. See, most of the songs we've gotten for flowey have been very fast and...disconnected. Almost staccato? Bouncy. But, there's a snippet in the finale section of Your Best Nightmare where the notes are more legato "I am your god, your king, you can't do anything anymore" and I've always loved that section. And every time I heard it, I would sigh a little and think "you know, I would love to hear Flowey in a more melodic song. And this GAVE it to me! All gift wrapped and everything. It's such a sharp contrast to all his other songs, and it's wonderful. I can imagine how hard it is to hold a character voice through such a flowing song, and you did it flawlessly Xander. And on top of that, you sold his emotions perfectly. Starting with a quiet hopeful cheer as Flowey finds himself reminiscing on his past, reunited with his best friend at last. And then transitioning to the gleeful anticipation as he looks forward to tearing apart this world at Chara's side. And then culminating in his horror filled realization as to what his words actually meant, and maybe the game wasn't really a game after all. That ending also resonated with me, his questioning if all this was because he'd called for them. Called, and woke a demon with his best friend's smile. The choice to do this song against undertale, rather than...was it small shock? was a great one in my opinion. Undertale is such a melodic song, and is already full of feels by association since we have both the pacifist version as well as our experiences in game. It echoes the pacifist song so well "but I would stay determined!" in places it's shocking, but it reminds the audience that yes, this is so appropriate because this IS Asriel. Instead of the story of his death, this is the story of his rebirth. A rebirth, but into a world without love. ("A world without you" ;A; ) The lyrics do a great job, they feel so natural, imparting the narrative of Flowey's story without feeling forced. They, along with Xander's performance took me along his journey, and just leave me feeling sad for the little flower who thought he refound his friend, and then learned that it might not be worth the cost. This is an immediate favorite for me (--no not just because it's Undertale--) and again I'm looking forward to the three remaining songs! ...also dreading them. Because once they are out that's it the package is over ;A;
can we all just take a moment here to remember that this is A VOICE ACTOR OF FLOWEY THAT'S SINGING... like seriously... someone who can make that kind of voice... while singing... that guy has FUCKING TALENT RIGHT THERE!!!
Undertale used to be my special interest a few years back, and this series was honestly so important to me. It made me so happy, and it still does. It's awesome. Thanks for making this, man. Yall have no clue how life changing it was to find this series for a game I love so much, even after years of not listening to it anymore.
Erica Ellis That's actually pretty damn rude, really. It isn't necessarily pleasant to write a comment like this saying that you sing better than the singer. It's also extremely rude to reply this to someone who said that a flower can sing better than them.
Or maybe they made the face glow so you could actually see it, just because you can see the eyes and smile, doesn’t mean there’s holes, perhaps it’s just a light produced from the facial features.
Sometimes you just gotta take the time to understand that Flowey really isn't evil. Just imagine a world where you know the truth, you know absolutely everything and can predict literally everything. What would you do? You have the power to reset and to go back if you need to, plus, you don't have a soul so you can't feel anything and you also lost your best friend. Man, Flowey (Asriel) is probably one of the video game character with a really sad background.
Flowey is my favourite character in Undertale and my favourite villian in videogames, but he is evil. Maybe he is not evil himself, but he did evil things. After all, he is the main villian in Pacifist and Neutral routes.
While I can understand where Flowey is coming from he is evil. Losing the ability to feel does not mean your actions are justified. You've lost your emotions, but you still have controls over your actions. By that logic apathetic people who choose to murder aren't evil.
Holy crap. I don’t normally feel feels when Flowey sings, normally it’s disturbing more than anything. but this. BUT THIS. God, in the beginning you can still hear his childhood hopefulness, and then towards the end his desperation and pleading, oh god,
ougggh. the song started out as asriel being horrified and desperate to feel anything and hating this existence but then discovering how to manipulate the save file to live again and again and giving people happy endings but growing bored of this repeated life and choosing to kill them all out of curiousity and boredom, exactly the essence of genocide route, rolling in the apathy and doing it just for the hell of it. and then his delight at seeing chara again and how they change everything, finding a sense of kinship in them, wanting to be their partner in crime but then getting horrifed as he realizes that they only care about killing and are completely ok with killing him, and at the end being bitter that chara won't stop-
Contrary to popular belief, "Megalovania" is NOT the next song. We are actually going back for a junk food run before the boss fight, with singing provided by none other than... Burgerpants. I for one am quite excited!
For some reason I don't like chara maybe it's because they kill everyone over, over, and over again All my favorite characters The sad part is papyrus thought it was a hug
As soon as he said "I changed my mind!" I got instant chills oh my god! This one is a definite favorite. And the art is so good! on an unrelated note, it sucks how everyone's constant spamming has turned Megalovania from a powerful fight tune to an annoyance. It would be funny if instead of pleasing the masses with Megalovania, they did something like "sans." And turned it into a genocide song. But whatever they do, despite people who can't seem to handle and enjoy their effort, it's going to be amazing.
4:23 Made me stop doing what I was doing and made me realize what Flowey had been through, it made me shed a tear. Flowey didn't deserve what he got.. He was reborn as a flower and couldn't feel anything. Imagine losing your best friend, one you called a sibling, being reborn as something else, not being able to feel ANYTHING and trying so hard to, and NO ONE would know what you were going through. Everyone, except your best friend. Flowey/Asriel looked up to Chara, just to be killed by them. My gosh, he needs the biggest hug.. His story touched me more than Sans' story, and I kinda hated him in the beginning, but learning about his backstory just hurts my soul. He may be kinda hated, but he just might be my favorite character. I'd honestly do the same things he did because he was so hurt, that it blinded him of what terrible things he was doing.
BEST. SONG. EVER. Screw the entire musical. I love this. I don't know why, I don't normally like vocalizations, or musicals, or anything like that. Why is this so good?!?!?!
Because Flowey was pouring his heart out to all of you with this. If you had the ability to reset over and over and over and over again, would you stay good forever, or would you try to look for a more “morbid” ending?
* I really like the fact you guys used a song in major key for probably the saddest song in the genocide package, it makes the song so much more powerful.
5:59 the shading here is disturbing, judging by the way the light is with Chara's face, Frisk's eyes and mouth opened to make hollow holes in their face that you can see through, fucking terrifying
If you count the instrumentals before Flowey starts singing, the music syncs with the Pacifist version of the song up until 4:23. But it's interesting how the moment before that compares between the two. Pacifist: They don't know of conscience and love! Genocide: What'll happen if they die? Well, let's see.
I think this is my favorite song in MotI's Undertale the Musical... I've come back to this song cover over and over again... I think I know why, but I don't wanna talk about it. After all, I came here for a song...
XANDER'S BACK!!! AAAAAAH!!! Okay, whilst I admit I feel the last part of the song could have been a bit more...dark, if you get what I mean, I actually really like how Xander managed to bring out Flowey/Asriel's childlike innocence whilst singing this. It started to make me forget that Flowey's supposed to be the antagonist, which works considering at this point you've pretty much taken over as the antagonist. So overall, pretty good! Well done, Xander! 😄
Keep in mind that you pretty much are Flowey in this scenario You (most players) stsrted as a pacifist with the ability to reset, you used the power to make everyone happy, until you got bored, you decided to see what would happen if you killed everyone.
I love how Flowey at here showed as minor side of YOU. Not as Frisk, not as Chara. As you and only you,as player. You did some another route before, you befriended everyone. But now, You're the one who going to slaughter entire civilization without any mercy to anyone. Even, when your best friend stands on your way.
Oh-oh wow. I am speechless. Xander was really moving. really really moving. I felt even more for Flowey in this song than I did in game. AND THE ART HOLY MOLY
The pitch is just slightly off. The song now sounds so eerie... Flowey just slowly becoming scared of the human is so terrifying, especially when it’s like our view is casting the shadow. We enjoy watching these videos, of monsters dying. They make us smile. Even Flowey finds that horrifying.
Alex Rybitski I just have to say, you're easily one of the best VAs in the musical. This video just shows your range, and I can quite confidently say is my favorite in the Genocide package so far. Sorry I don't mean to gush you're just fantastic
Being serious, this is the BEST music to come out of the Undertale Musical Genocide Package. It’s so captivating and told the strong in a clear way while making the lyrics really good! Didn’t know Flowey was a good singer, but I guess after tons of RESETs, he was eventually going to pick up some singing talent. =P
Will you be doing Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap? I will give lyrics if needed, or hell, even vocals. The fandom needs this.
Me realizing how similar Flowey and Izuru Kamakura are as characters (both children losing thier emotions and personality- becoming a separate person. Ending up to them killing people in order to try and feel something.
Flowey wasn't trying to feel, his lack of attachment and inability to die made him curious about what would happen if he killed everyone, since he already gave out so many happy endings and it began to grow stale. It's the same reason the player does genocide- curiosity.
Flowey is really the best example of the player in the game. He had the power to reset over and over, could do whatever he wanted without consequences, and he tried to be nice to everyone at first, but he got bored, just like a player choosing to kill everyone after getting bored of pacifist.
I absolutely love how much of a mirror Flowey is to the player. And also despite everything... You're still you. But you've changed. You treated the world as just a game. And then had your fun, my fun, we had our fun. We are all filled with determination, and you can't spell determination, without termination. Yes i heard that joke from somewhere lmao
How ironic, he begs for us to "Stop making that scary face!", he says that "This isn't funny!", that "You've got a SICK sense of humor!", but when HE was the one playing with us like toys, throwing us in an eternal suffering of death and rebirth, corruption everyone and everything, he wasn't a little concerned.
And the cherry on top is the fact that Flowey sees you as Chara, his True Friend, the one he could never predict. And him seeing the possibility of his true friend hurting him fucking terrifies him.
I've had to add "Megalovania is next" and "you know what's next" to the spam filter because half the comments on every video, regardless of logical placement, were some variant of that. "Chara... i think i changed my mind... i don't like this idea anymore..."
The phrase was said by both Asriel and Flowey, one when Chara got ill because of the buttercups (yellow flowers), and other when... well... you know it.
Ooh that’s a good parallel I hadn’t caught
So true
Flowey in a nutshell:
Pacifist: Why didn't you kill?!

@@suitcasesolos I think it's because in Genocide, Chara soon wanted to kill him. And if flowey dies, he wont come back. And he was scared he was going to be dead forever from her.

Even worse he is 7-13yrs old

His name
I think that pretty well sums up Flowey’s story in genocide runs: it starts off a game, something fun to do with his returned brother but then he realises this is a really bad situation and he probably won’t get out of this.
First part: Me trying to speak more and get out what my older brother was doing to me, and get away from him and make friends
Second part (the end when flowey is scared): When things got worse and I got hurt a lot.
Oh yeah don’t mind this btw. It’s over and done. Thx to MOTI I powered through it, and even if I’m still left with some chaotic aftermath, I’m staying determined
When i follow the path of Genocide, when i see that scene i truly understand how far this path goes. And when even that demon is scared of you. What kind of demon are you ?

@@Uragan00829 -to not hurt someone. You just contradicted your point
@@ianzhou7010 It' hard to say if he actually cares about them, he still has no soul so he shouldn't. I think he just want leave them alone, so they have their happy ending. I just don't think he regained emotions, that's all.
@@Uragan00829 Good point.

Your essays are always so wonderful.

After last weekend I decided to listen to the remaining scratches to get a refresher and the MOMENT I heard Floweytale my immediate thought was:
I *NEED* to hear Xander sing this.
See, most of the songs we've gotten for flowey have been very fast and...disconnected. Almost staccato? Bouncy. But, there's a snippet in the finale section of Your Best Nightmare where the notes are more legato "I am your god, your king, you can't do anything anymore" and I've always loved that section. And every time I heard it, I would sigh a little and think "you know, I would love to hear Flowey in a more melodic song. And this GAVE it to me! All gift wrapped and everything. It's such a sharp contrast to all his other songs, and it's wonderful. I can imagine how hard it is to hold a character voice through such a flowing song, and you did it flawlessly Xander. And on top of that, you sold his emotions perfectly. Starting with a quiet hopeful cheer as Flowey finds himself reminiscing on his past, reunited with his best friend at last. And then transitioning to the gleeful anticipation as he looks forward to tearing apart this world at Chara's side. And then culminating in his horror filled realization as to what his words actually meant, and maybe the game wasn't really a game after all. That ending also resonated with me, his questioning if all this was because he'd called for them. Called, and woke a demon with his best friend's smile.
The choice to do this song against undertale, rather than...was it small shock? was a great one in my opinion. Undertale is such a melodic song, and is already full of feels by association since we have both the pacifist version as well as our experiences in game. It echoes the pacifist song so well "but I would stay determined!" in places it's shocking, but it reminds the audience that yes, this is so appropriate because this IS Asriel. Instead of the story of his death, this is the story of his rebirth. A rebirth, but into a world without love. ("A world without you" ;A; )
The lyrics do a great job, they feel so natural, imparting the narrative of Flowey's story without feeling forced. They, along with Xander's performance took me along his journey, and just leave me feeling sad for the little flower who thought he refound his friend, and then learned that it might not be worth the cost. This is an immediate favorite for me (--no not just because it's Undertale--) and again I'm looking forward to the three remaining songs!
...also dreading them. Because once they are out that's it the package is over ;A;

@@宋宇玥 no its not. I would have loved a burger pants genocide song!
We still got "Star" though
6:09 Sometimes Flowey forgets he can go underground
That wasn't a good time to forget it
You know you’re a monster when the serial killer begs for his life
Flowey: What kind of monster are you?
Me: That my dear friend is what we humans call a demon
@Glitchtale! Chara Dreemurr I don't think you're evil.

For some reason I don't like chara maybe it's because they kill everyone over, over, and over again
All my favorite characters
The sad part is papyrus thought it was a hug
@@JustSageHereVR im gonna scream
chara didnt kill anyone. the player was responsible
@@snatcherlover yes technically but at the end if u pick erase ur just keep killing everyone
Well at least if the story continued
Flowey is such a good singer
So True
No suprise
I think its the lyrics
Because Flowey was pouring his heart out to all of you with this. If you had the ability to reset over and over and over and over again, would you stay good forever, or would you try to look for a more “morbid” ending?
@@Icanbarelysing I'd definitely look for every possible outcome I could get.
It hits you in the feels, you probably have something to do with it.
4:24-4:42
This is why we gamers love Undertale.
6:16
No better way to brighten your smile like swallowing a flashlight
Delicious
Even with all the other songs, this remains the greatest song y'all ever made. Raw pain and passion abound, displayed masterfully.
I think this is my favorite song in MotI's Undertale the Musical... I've come back to this song cover over and over again... I think I know why, but I don't wanna talk about it. After all, I came here for a song...
Asgore and Flowey are the most underrated overlooked characters in all undertale.
Asgore is pretty overlooked but Flowey is really popular.
@@samot4100 sans literally makes every character in undertale underrated
Like father like son in this case
I would say metteton also.

It's not Xander, it's Alex Rybitski
It's the same person -_-
Thanks
I also agree from a 7-year perspective.
Flowey never wanted to kill. He wanted to feel again.
He gave up on trying to feel and chased curiosity. He wanted to kill to see what happens, and his lack of emotion made him detached enough to bear it.
5:58 Christ, imagine that face...!
Nothing like putting light bulbs in your eyes and mouth then turning them on
I would actually amplify my fear.
All the voice actors and actresses all sounded exactly like how I thought their characters would sound. Thank you all for these amazing songs :)
"People spouting the same lines..."
This a joke about the Megalovania requests?
The prophecy is true...
lol
'Requests'?????
It was realised
I didn't think of it that way, but I like that.
This is the best Undertale Musical video in my opinion, floweys character is written so well
Keep in mind that you pretty much are Flowey in this scenario
You (most players) stsrted as a pacifist with the ability to reset, you used the power to make everyone happy, until you got bored, you decided to see what would happen if you killed everyone.
I love how Flowey at here showed as minor side of YOU.
Not as Frisk,not as Chara.
As you and only you,as player.
You did some another route before, you befriended everyone.
But now,
You're the one who going to slaughter entire civilization without any mercy to anyone.
Even, when your best friend stands on your way.
Adding sinister lyrics to a song that sound hopeful and happy is somehow terrifying
Oh-oh wow. I am speechless. Xander was really moving. really really moving. I felt even more for Flowey in this song than I did in game.
AND THE ART HOLY MOLY
1:32 Flowey looks and sounds so adorable! I don’t know why but I smile every time I see his little happy face.
Christ, you guys. I AM Xander.
Xander = Nickname for Alexander. Calm yourselves.
Alex Rybitski
I just have to say, you're easily one of the best VAs in the musical. This video just shows your range, and I can quite confidently say is my favorite in the Genocide package so far. Sorry I don't mean to gush you're just fantastic
my name is xander what a coincidence
jesus christ youur voice is so talented Xander XD
I fully understand the pain of being called Xander and not Alex
Alex Rybitski How do you do dis!!!!!!!
I literally randomly searched Floweytale on TH-cam, found this video. Became interested, clicked on it, liked it, now it's my favorite song.
Flowey: I don't think this is a good idea anymore.
Frisk: Okay. *resets*
Flowey: Why did you have to ruin it?
Frisk: What?
I think that at this point, Flowey just wants to die.

The fandom needs this.
that bird was crucial to beating the game
*give me the bird*
@@homiefoxpgn4497 I'd love to, but this os a children's program!
Bird up
That bird is the best character
Today I Learned that “Chara” rhymes with “started”
Yeah when you stretch them.
K h ö r a
( I'm sorry lol )
"Chara"
"Character"
@@3h2c39 hoW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT-
And 'scarred', apparently.
The ammount of emotion in this... The use of Flowey's normal voice WHILE singing, best Undertale Genocide the musical song.
And him seeing the possibility of his true friend hurting him fucking terrifies him.
it takes a psycho to know a psycho i guess
